Satori Beach Hostel

Overall it’s not a clean hostel , we tried 3 different rooms upon checking in which had mould and /or were run down, we didn’t feel comfortable staying in. The fourth room was the best of a bad picking and it still had numerous bugs crawling in through the glass door from the balcony & all on the roof. The facility is very poorly kept , there are molds everywhere , lockers don't work. I would not recommend the stay here even though the view is good. I was legit afraid of getting a respiratory diseases since there was a huge black mold right next to the bunk

Nice location, but the stay was chaotic from the start. Staff didn’t know which beds belonged to whom, and I was told I was sleeping in another guest’s bed. After discussions it was sorted, but at 4 a.m. staff turned on the lights and argued with a guest about bed assignments, waking everyone up. The dorm door was broken and very loud, lockers were unusable, staff moved guests’ belongings, and there were cockroaches in the room. Not recommended.

This was probably the worst hostel I stayed in Sri Lanka. Not social at all, dirty as hell. I requested a bottom bunk below mine but was told that they're all taken. To my surprise that bottom bunk was empty all night and the next day, noone checked in. The staff could've done better to make my stay nicer.

worst hostel to stay in, no proper facility. everything looks like torn up, needs renovation. Also, you're not allowed to message in the WhatsApp group of the hostel, weird. If you've lost something or you want to ask if someone's heading to parties/planning something, your message will be deleted by the admin instantaneously. Please do not believe the pictures.

They need to upgrade the bathroom which was pathetic. The hostel had no vibes. I would say look for other hostels than this one

Do not stay! On our last night my stuff was thrown from my bed onto the floor by the owner of the hostel and somebodys stuff there instead, on the same sheets I slept in. It was late and I was left without a bed, the owner returned drunk and shouting backhanded apologies & gave me a bed which was booked. The hostel itself is mouldy, the air con sounded like it was going to blow up, the tap was broken and You don’t get the room you book. so many more problems but I’m restricted to 500 letters...

don't get fooled by the pictures. the place is reeeeeally bad. staff and location are very nice but that's about it. just book somewhere else

Pictures were quite deceiving, the property is honestly falling apart - I stayed in two different dorms, neither of my bed lights worked, nor did the plug sockets. There was no WiFi in the property and even worse than that not even soap. Most of the lockers were in broken and unusable and there was dirt everywhere in the rooms. Staff were lovely but I had to check out early.

It was the worst hostel. Wi-Fi did not work. There were bugs on my bed. And they’re not very open to receive feedback and claimed Wi-Fi is a problem throughout the city but that’s not true. I had to move to another hostel. It’s got very shady rooms and not even a hand wash. 10 people with only a single bathroom.

Ein wunderschönes Hostel mit Meerblick! Die Location ist einmalig, das Personal unglaublich freundlich und stets hilfsbereit. Die Räume waren sauber und ich habe mich stets sicher und sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Chill Area und der Strand direkt vor der Tür machen den Aufenthalt einmalig. Mein absolutes Highlight waren die Bootspartys! Sehr zu empfehlen! Danke für die wunderschönen Erinnerungen, ich komme wieder :) Bohomi Stuthi

Lovely that it’s beach front but there’s a few things that need fixing, the balcony door had a gap to outside so there were a few bugs in the room. Overall good hostel with friendly staff just maybe needs a few touch ups. Doors didn’t lock so can’t rate too high for security

Super comfy rooms with a beautiful beach at the front. Vik and the staff were very accommodating and helped me with anything I needed. We swam with turtles, watched the sunset and had great party at the bars.

The property is very chill out.. even the staff are very friendly. The view from room is to good

Slightly far out from Mirissa but worth it for the stunning location with pretty much a private beach. Staff were very friendly. Rooms pretty standard, bathroom was a wet room which is not ideal but pretty standard in Sri Lanka.

SICK! Loads of british people here which was good vibes. Great location: not too far to walk to Mirissa beach and there’s shops and ATM nearby. Hostel was super welcoming when I got there, they were having family dinner that night and going to Drs House which was so so so good even though I was a newbie and didn’t know anyone, I immediately felt comfortable here. Would deffo recommend x

A great vibe and so many activities.

Had a great stay and wish it was longer, lots to do in the area. The hostel reps (max and Toby) were very welcoming and funny. However the bedroom doors didn’t lock and nearly all the lockers were broken or didn’t lock. Beds were clean and comfy and view was amazing. Would definitely stay again but just some upkeeping could be done

Best hostel in Mirissa

Legitimately one of the best hostels I stayed at. Came back to the hostel when i was in ahangama and came again to mirissa just to stay here. The staff makes you feel so at home. They such lovely people and so cool to hang out with and chat. The location is also so sick, it’s right by the beach where literally no one is and a 10 min walk to the city. They have events on every night and a really nice common area. The volunteers at the hostel are also so great and make you feel welcome right awa...

Very scenic location as it is along the coastline. However, sadly this hostel didn’t meet expectations for me. It has great potential but appears slightly ran down

Honestly not sure how this place got good reviews. Location was amazing and they had some fun events but the room was infested with insects. When I asked the owner to switch rooms he wouldn’t let me and said “it’s not my problem”

Best hostel in Sri Lanka, you can drink beer right on the beach ! What more do you want! Great staff great food great social reps ! Must book x

Sehr soziales Hostel mit privatem Strand. Der Ausblick aus den Zimmern ist unfassbar schön und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Das Essen im Restaurant ist sehr gut und die Bootparty die vom Hostel zwei mal die Woche organisiert wird hat super viel Spaß gemacht! Das Hostel ist sauber und gut organisiert.

It's a great hostel with lot of activities going on everyday. Lot of scope to socialise and make friends. The staff is super amazing and always ready to help. I will definitely recommend staying at this hostel.

Staff were really lovely and the view from the room if stunning but it was quite run down, doesn’t seem like there are many rooms and lo to of it was still a building site. It’s also quite far from the main area!

Great hostel in a fantastic location. The vibe is very relaxed and there is a social event every evening, so even if you are traveling alone, you can quickly meet new people.

One of the best social hostels I’ve stayed at. They organize activities every day, which makes it easy to meet people. The hosts and support staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended
