Hostel Mickitos

I have contacted the property about my disappointment and they have not responded!! The bed was dirty upon arrival - I believe there was a dead bed bug in the bed. They let me change beds but I was still very concerned about the bed bugs and so left after one night despite paying for 3. No refund was given by the property. People were smoking or vaping in the dorm rooms and so the air quality was very poor. Dirty facilities. Overall not a pleasant place. I have stayed at hundreds of hostels and this is the first one I have ever left early from.

Everything. Basement smelt super mouldy, none of the beds were clean, our locker was broken so we got moved to a different bed that had bed bugs and stains on the sheets. We didn’t even stay 1 night, left straight away. The lady at reception was very lovely and understanding, it’s a shame the facilities were so awful.

Really weird place. Have to enter through in apartment complex did not feel very safe. Staff were rude. Just seemed very out of place and beds were really uncomfortable. To top it off there were rumours from other guests at the time of bed bugs

Cheap place but set out like a hotel, no atmosphere and hard to meet anyone if not in your dorm. Staff are non existent, if you want to pay by cash you go to the cafe of the same name otherwise you wont meet any staff. Cheap price for a bed if that what you need, however there were many conversations about bedbugs between guests and mold in some rooms but not mine.

Ok hostel, but no social vibe. Beds are comfy, but there's not enough lockers for the number of people. Someone in my room found bedbugs in their bed, mine was fine but be careful. Was also placed in a 12-bed dorm in mickitos urban instead of a 6-bed dorm in this hostel without being informed. Staff is pretty much non-existent. Entrance is sketchy but upstairs is fine and feels safe. Showers are cramped & the bathrooms are not the cleanest, but they work. Kitchen and location are great.

Er zaten bedwantsen in dit hostel, dit wist het personeel al voordat wij kwamen maar toch hadden ze ons niet van tevoren geïnformeerd. Toen wij dit probleem meldden wilde de eigenaar niks doen en geen geld terug geven, ze waren absoluut niet behulpzaam en gaven ons de schuld dat wij ze mee gebracht zouden hebben. Onzin. Ik kom hier nooit meer en raad iedereen aan hier niet te komen.

Wouldnt reccomend. The only good thing is location. 4th floor bathroom was disgusting and we had to travel to the 5th floor for a half decent bathroom. Staff were friendly but the place wasnt clean and the doors were not secure and would often be left open for anyone to walk through. They have it in thei desc for free rakia, however, you must first buy something which is missleading. There was not any atmosphere or social opps in the place. There were rooms with bedbugs but luckily we avoided.

Firstly staff are amazing and kind. Very helpful. Everything is cleaned on a daily basis, the rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Issue was there were bedbugs reported by 2 guests during my stay in two seperate rooms; however my room was fine. The staff immediately emptied the infected rooms and treated the mattresses, also moving the people into new rooms. The men’s shower on the 4th floor had a big gap in the ceiling above meaning if I stood up my head would go into the roof… bit gross

Hostel is in a great location with brilliant and friendly staff. It’s right next to the old bazar and within 5 minutes of new town. The hostel has a full wrap around balcony. Unfortunately there was bed bugs during my stay but the my did fumigate the whole room and mattresses, this isn’t just this hostel issue, France has a massive problem right now. I had quickly changed rooms. The bathroom doesnt lock up there is other bathrooms upstairs. It is a little run down but it’s fine for the price pay

Location was good, but there were bed bugs in my bed. I took a photo during the night and brought it up with the staff as I checked out (not wanting a refund or anything just letting them know), and the lady told me that they are everywhere in Macedonia and offered no solution/sympathy. She also had no idea what time the walking tour was, or of there was a laundromat nearby, and in general had a bit of an attitude. The place was fine for one night and the other staff were lovely.

Bedbugs ruined my trip

Bed bugs! Stay away from this place. I went to bed and after only 1 hour I had to leave the place. Got bitten and saw 2 bed bugs in the bed and walls.

Would give 0 if I could. Filthy. Bed bugs. Just disgusting.

I have backpacked for over 10 years and this without a doubt is the dirtiest and worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The toilet was blocked the first day I arrived there was hair, mould and grime in the toilet ( 2 toilets/showers for all guests). The bedroom are also dirty and we had bed bugs in our room. When I told the guy in charge it took him hours to resolve it and refused to give a refund. The whole way he dealth with the situation was terrible. I felt so let down as did the other ladies.
