Do Step Inn Central - Self-Service-Hostel

Clean bathrooms and provide a towel (it is quite small though). I woke up COVERED in a million bug bites. I believe they were bed bugs, but when I complained to the hostel apparently they checked and there weren’t any, but one of my roommates had the same issue and it was more bites every time I slept in the bed sooooo. Also there were only cold showers for my first three days. The location also feels very unsafe. I woke up the first night to two homeless people screaming outside the window. There are police outside 24/7 performing checks and even in the kitchen you feel very watched from outside.

Location close to the Wien Hbf train station. We already know this hostel so we knew what to expect. The online check-in should be easy and it's not, especially when you must log in with your surname that the hostel messes up. I had earplugs and an eye mask so sleeping was fine. However, room 6 was apparently infested with bedbugs, as I got a bite. Hostel was informed and they promised to take immediate measures, so I really hope they did. I'd hate for other fellow travellers to experience these issues too. Fingers crossed.

the location was ok… half an hour walk from city centre Unsafe.. surrounded by homeless people who try and sneak in behind you as you try and walk in. We saw so many people struggling to check in. Furthermore, our room had a massive ant infestation, fruit flies on the walls and bed bugs on the bed. Awful experience with the customer service too, who didn’t seem bothered at all at the fact our hostel room was a literal jungle. We were forced to buy alternative accommodation as we could not stay in the room they gave us. The hostel has completely refused to refund us the money aswell.
