Lungile Backpackers

Very bad place, for staff on arrival (21:30), for the noise until late at night, for the dirty bathrooms, for the horror movie bedroom. In short .. I don't recommend it to anyone

The kitschen was not okay. Lots of dirty plates everywhere. nobody was cleaning the kitchen. Maintenance of the pool was also bad.

The receptionist was very cold and indifferent, which wasn’t a nice welcome. No air conditioning. Pool was dirty. When trying to check out early in the morning the receptionist wasn’t helpful at all.

We bookes a double room with kitchenet... There was not enouth cooking equipment in the kitchen and the pots were dirty. There was no spong or towles to cleane anything in the kitchen. The fridge didn't work and was moulding. The bathroom is very small and we only got 1 towel to shower... The shower door fell apart every single time we touched it... Really woun't recomment to book this room, it was very disapointing...

Says the check in time is till 23:00, arrived at 21:45 and no one was there to check me in. Got the wrong room after someone helped me check in. Staff was not helpful

Good clean hostel , well designed and smart rooms and bathrooms of good quality decor..lockers and storage spaces we're good. There was a kitchen and fridge but didn't really use it. Staff in the mornings need to be quieter as walls are thin and both days woken about 7am by cleaners shouting at each other in the corridor..

We booked room number 9, the receiving staff member told us twice that he upgraded our room. He gave us room....9! In this room were fridge, both bedside lamps not connected to the electricity. In the bathroom, the rubbish bin was not emptied. The toilet rings were loose and not working. The flush knob blocked and water streamed on. Empty hand soap container. Sticky jam on bedside cupboard. They need an effective management that upgrades the level.

Good location, very close to everything you need. Could have been more toilets but overall a good place to stay. Had no issues with security, felt safe and secure.

Not a bad stay but for a country with load shedding they surely aren’t prepared for it. No electricity 90 percent of my stay. Really wasn’t enjoyable.

I had a good stay here. It was low season so very quiet but the staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were spacious and nice. It's not close to the centre of town but there are shops in walking distance

The hostel is situated in a safe area close to bars, restaurants etc. The staff is super laid back and helped organising the safari at Addo. I booked a private room, it was clean and comfortable. The place allows for a nice socialization between the travelers, with the addition of having 2 terraces. Can only recommend!

Die Einzel- / Zweibettzimmer sind leider extrem hellhörig und die Tür zu meinem Zimmer klemmte leider aufgrund eines kaputten Scharniers leider massiv. Das Hostel ist ansonsten gepflegt, es gibt eine schöne Küche und die Bäder sind riesig. Die Airportnähe (8min mit Uber) ist super.

Great Gem that needs to found. Would recommend a sign outside saying Lungile Backpackers with the meaning of Lungile. As your GPS takes you behind the property. Not easily sign posted. Also would suggest plug points at all the beds, to charge your phone. Would get the light fixed on the 1st shower been out from the time I checked in until now. Would sell small keep sacks. Stickers, magnets, key chains, small items I believe that they would sell. I was looking for a sticker don't have any.

Close to beach. Restaurants. Bars and in a nice area. The staff Mr Ivans is literally a brother. Thanks Lungile, I will come back

Lovely hostel Had to get a lift that was not overpriced and they helped me with everything. Very friendly people i would definitely go there again. Thank you

Leuk! Maar niet geweldig. Kamers zijn heel cramped, geen ventilator te bespeuren in dit gebouw, ondanks vele mensen op 1 kamer soms. Zwembad vies, niet schoon, en niet uitnodigend om in te zwemmen. Beetje dode buurt, maar dat geldt voor het merendeel van PLZ helaas; hostel organiseert geen kleine leuke activiteiten, enkel trips en dergelijke voor best wel een groot prijskaartje. Kamers worden tussen de dagen door niet schoongemaakt (of bij ons toch niet). Badkamer op de kamer is extreem gehori...

The hostel is lovely and the staff are great. Good showers and bathrooms, beds are comfortable and not too far to walk to the beach. The pool was fluorescent green.

Local muito bom, bem limpo, equipe prestativa! Só um adendo: o quarto não é de 4 camas mas sim de 6! Só essa ressalva :)

Da es keine Heizung hatte war es sehr kalt im Zimmer.

I couldn't come near to afford the accommodation at the conference venue upmarket hotel, so I sped the internet circuit and came across The Lungile Backpackers or Guesthouse. I'm sure glad I did. I couldn't use any of the facilities due to my schedule, but my single room was exactly what a once rough-and-tough world traveller sought. Clean, compactly effective room, no road / traffic noise, very easy walk to the esplanade and down to the conference hotel. Just what this fellow was looking for...
