The Hideaway, Koh Lipe

Avoid - we booked a private bungalow and we could not sleep in this due to an ant infestation so were relocated to the dorm. Our luggage became infested with ants and 100 ants got into my sealed toothbrush case so this had to be binned. There were mosquitos underneath the mosquito net as well. The lock on the door is very unsafe with the doors being locked with a padlock from the outside. After the ant infestation, it took 2 hours for someone to come into contact with us despite it being 10pm.

Worst hostel we’ve stayed in, there were cockroaches all over the room, the room was not clean. We had to check out after 1 night due to the awfulness of the property, the location is far from the Main Street which resulted in having to walk down a dodgy lane to get there which didn’t feel safe at night. Didn’t feel safe in the property as the door didn’t lock and anyone could walk into the room. Do not stay here

Cockroaches and frogs in our room every night, holes in mosquito net, huge gaps between ceiling and walls so everything can get in, couldn’t sleep due to the amount of cockroaches and centipedes in the bathroom and they got into the bedroom through the gap under the door. Cabins need to be sealed. Pest control needed. Walls very thin so you can hear everything. Musty smell in room, hostel is down a dark dirt track with no lights. No toilet paper. Staff are lovely, not their fault.

Das Bad war voller Insekten und nicht wirklich sauber außerdem wurde ich die ganze Nacht von Mücken verstrichen und das Hostel ist eher unsozial

I loved the vibe here and met great people! It’s super close to the beach. Curtains, nice big lockers and air conditioning.

As I stayed in the dorm I need to let you know, please make the bathroom nice. No toiletpaper, dirty carpet in front the door, … If you want to be a place to be for western travellers (actually you are at a beautiful spot), you need to be clean all the time.

Was a beautiful spot, nice bathroom and property is kept clean. There is only one dorm while the rest of the property is privates so isn’t the best for solo travellers. The bed was also not bad, but I could feel the wire spring which made it a bit uncomfortable. The staff were super lovely.

Loved my stay here! Very chill vibes. AC in the room is great (only on from 6pm -10am) and beds were comfy. The host gave some stellar recommendations for things to do and I had a great time!

I loved the atmosphere, so relaxing and chilled, the hammock at the front of the house so cool it was so good that I have decided to stay longer, staff are lovely, the only negative I guess that would be lively to have a larger manu for food, more like local proper dishes.

One of the best accommodations on my trip. The owners are helpful and welcoming! Like a small family. I will definitely come back.

Para mí la mejor estancia en Tailandia y el propietario es un amor de persona. Llegué con el equipaje roto y se hicieron cargo en todo momento de ayudarme a arreglar las ruedas! Compraron material para ello! Todo increíble. Me ofrecieron un upgrade súper bueno y se preocuparon por mi estancia , para que fuera un diez. Sin duda volvería mil veces más 😍

Best value for money so far. We stayed in a private room with a friend, which was the same price as a dorm. Big beds, large shower room and hammock. The room had fans, but no air- conditioning. However, in that weather the fans were enough. A really beautiful place.

Wir hatten ein Privatzimmer eine einer Hütte. Das Zimmer war top und sehr sauber. Das ganze Hostel hat eine sehr entspannte Atmosphäre. Die Lage in der Nähe vom Strand ist super, nur zur Walking Street braucht man etwas 10min zu Fuß. Das Personal ist super nett und hilfsbereit.

Das war das beste Hostel in dem ich bisher war :) Die Besitzer sind die besten hosts überhaupt, es ist wahnsinnig gemütlich, das Essen und vor allem der Kaffee im Restaurant schmeckt fantastisch und man fühlt sich dort einfach wohl. Die Betten im Schlafsaal sind nicht die bequemsten, aber schön groß, genauso wie die Locker. Auch die Lage ist top: nah am Geschehen, aber weit genug weg, sodass es schön ruhig ist. Der Sunrise Beach ist super nah, den würde ich als Strand allerdings nicht emp...

Unfortunately could only stay one night due to my last minute planning, but would love to come back. Can’t really comment on the atmosphere, but the staff was very nice. Location is also perfect.

O hostel é sensacional, perto da praia, tem um clima bem natureza, limpo, camas confortáveis e quartos espaçosos, banheiro dentro do quarto, armários. Tudo impecável, perto da rua principal e perto da praia. Super recomendo.

I really loved my stay at The Hideaway. It's very relaxing, you're made to feel so welcome by all the staff - the vibe is incredible. It's located on a quieter part of the island so you don't feel like you're in the hustle & bustle, which is only a short walk away anyway. Aris & Azi were so nice and helpful with everything I needed. The food is also incredible, great variety and all of such good quality. The hostel also organises a sunset cruise with other guests - 10/10. Thanks guys, will b bak

Loved this hostel! Only one dorm the rest are private’s so it’s quite quiet but the living space was amazing. No air con in rooms during the day so super hot but encourages people to be out socialising. Great location backs on to sunrise beach. Beds were decent

Sooo luxurious for such a cheap price! Would highly recommend as a place to chill and rest - not social at all but so lovely
