Astor Kensington

DISGUSTING. Expect rooms to NOT be cleaned, EVER. Upon arrival, I saw this in the room sink drawer, clearly It has never been cleaned before, and after three days there I again checked and It stayed the same. A dirty covd mask, a Brown smudge, Fake eyelashes. The trash in the room had never been taken out, the kitchen was so filthy and the shared bathrooms smelled like sewage. On top of all, the charger on my bed did not work (of course, what else can you expect?). I took pictures for proof

I had a really bad experience here. The place was a mess. The receptionist was really bad at responding to anything. Never booking this hostel ever again.

Honestly shocked - the mattress above mine (bunk beds) had a MASSIVE blood stain. The place in general wasn’t very clean. Thankfully I only stayed one night. I spoke to the manager about my experience and stated I’ll be leaving an honest review, to which she responded that as a result I will be blocked from booking with the company, which I do not see why I would want to do again regardless. There are no lifts/elevators and narrow stairs, so you have to carry your luggage up flights of stair...

Guy wanking in the room. Kept us up all night. No covers on. Told staff. They did nothing

Warning: Health Hazard! I travel a lot and don't have high expectations on a hostel. Nevertheless, I was appalled by the horrendous hygiene standards at the Astor Kensington Hostel. It was so bad that I left the hostel after one night despite paying for give nights, which I never did before in my life. The bathrooms were full of mold, always wet and murky, there were human feces and pubic hair on the ground. The main problem seemed to be there that there were only three showers for the wh...

This property was horrible. Every bathroom was disgusting, smelt foul, was visibly dirty throughout the entire stay, and cockroaches. The room was spacious which was the only positive. The hostel has no female only dorms and my room was full with older men who were actively making things uncomfortable including sleeping with their hands inside my bunk. The kitchen facilities were unclean and the atmosphere was awful. If you’re a solo, young, female traveller I would stay away.

One of the worst Hostels I`ve ever been. Not clean, not friendly and not well organized. I dont know. No hostel vibe whatsoever. Skip this one.

Unfortunately an uncomfortable stay but great location and super friendly/kind staff. The building is dated and needs some renovations for noise reduction in the rooms specially the metal framed lockers underneath the beds, they are terrible. The bed mattress and pillow are not comfortable . The bed linen is of good quality. The bathroom is ok but the plumbing seems to cause a bad smell. Small kitchen, not so inviting. Too pricey for what offers.

Loved my stay at Astor Kensington! The location was honestly perfect, super easy to get around London, close to the tube, and in a really nice area. For the price, it was such good value, especially for London. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and they made the place feel welcoming from the moment I arrived. Good for a night stay. Quiet and not far from the tube station. Near to the kensigton Park.

great hostel with a great location!! staff was friendly and nice ☺️ felt safe all the time. room and bathroom were clean, and with hot water!!! i didn't use the kitchen/lounge cause i only stayed one night, but it's a great place indeed :)

5th floor was too high to step up. Communal space has dark atmosphere

Great location, lovely team. Only issue I had during last stay (as a retired person) was room was v crowded. Also 2 got up at 2 am for Heathrow, not their fault, other 3 were noisy in room. But bed clean, lounge area with books restful.

Loved my stay here! I’ve stayed at other Astors before, but the manager was extra welcoming and really made my trip with lots of helpful tips. They had a cute event on and met some nice people. Great location. Would recommend.

Would 100% recommend! It is the best location for London, you are so close to the city centre so you can get there easily but not overwhelming! The staff were super lovely and I felt super comfortable to ask them for help and advice!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. The staff are amazing, the facilities are great, it was super clean, the location is awesome. If you're looking for a hostel in London, you've found the place. Had such a fun time here and will definitely be back.

Had no problem booking this room last minute. Staff was super nice!! Rooms pretty much as expected, but I will say that the outlet connected to the lamp at my bed didn't work, so I couldn't charge my phone. Also, our bathroom had no window nor fan, and our drain did not work very well so water started flooding into entire bathroom during my shower (basically--expect everything to get wet). Was able to leave my luggage in locked storage after checkout until my flight later that day.

Astor Kensington was such a dream. I never knew how much the staff could enhance the experience until staying here. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was so genuine, kind, and with great energy. It's because of them that there's a ripple effect which makes it easier to say hi to other hostel guests/ make more friends. The rooms are pretty modern, the lounge is a lovely space to watch shows and movies with others, and the kitchen is very well stocked. I'm so grateful to have found such a warm hostel

Had an overall great stay. Everything was clean (at least in the female only room) and the staff was really friendly. It's also easy to meet new people for example through their events and in the cozy room with sofas and a TV. The only thing that could be improved was that there is not much space in the bathroom and near the bed to leave your stuff, but it still worked out though. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

i want to first start of with the staff they are ABSOLUTELY kind and wonderful. i've never felt so welcomed and LOVED!!! it says a LOT about how amazing Astor Kesignton Hostel is... its actually MORE than just a Hostel, its a place where you can meet truly kind and wonderful people... like example for me, i met Katie on the first day when i came to check in, she made me feel so excited and blessed to be at her Hostel. shes such an amazing sweet person. i recommend Astor kensignton Hostel!!!

Astor Kensington is arguably the best hostel in London. Well that's a bold statement I hear you cry - let me break it down for you. The Staff - Are fun, lovely and welcoming The Sitting room - Is cosy, clean & a nice place to hang out The Room - I stayed in the 12 bed dormitory - it was clean comfortable and roomy Yes.....I WOULD BOOK AGAIN ....in a heartbeat !!!

You feel the warmth from the staff at Astor Kensington as soon as you step through the door , highly recommend anyone wanting a homely and beautiful vibe all round , Katie in particular went above and beyond to make sure my stay was easy and really made me feel at home so if you’re ever at Astor Kensington look out for Katie because you would be missing out not meeting her , 10 out of 10

I have stayed at Astor Kensington for 5 days now and can I say; I've never met a hostel that makes me feel so included, lively and relaxed. Their team feels like a tight-knit family that loves each other and works together to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The location works well as its just a short walk from the main street and underground line. Kensington Park is at the end of the street which I've loved for walks in the sun. The all female room is well laid out with an ensuite.
