Playing a loud pool party until very late in the evening, room was extremely hot even for winter season, kitchen crowded and dirty

Was meant to stay 3 nights, only stayed 1. worst hostel so far. felt like a prison. rooms are tiny. was put in room with all guys. air con was too high so was freezing. beds right next to eachother and given no blanket. was given sheets on arrival and told to make our own beds. the hostel is right in the middle of the busy strip so if you want chilled vibes this is not the hostel for you but is close to everything.

The staff were very rude to me for my entire stay here. The location is great as it’s on the esplanade but so expensive for what you’re offered in terms of the dorm rooms. I found ants/cockroaches/other bugs in the bathrooms, the staff promised to clean them but they never did. The kitchen & movie room (essentially the only places to socialize outside) close at 10pm. Way too early. Especially for those that work in the hospo industry & get off work after 10pm. Don’t recommend this host...

the view from the rooftop is amazing. however, that's like the only positive thing to say about it. while it's impressive to be in the front row, the view doesn't make up for all the super annoying street musicians and bar djs with questionable music taste. on top, the place was not that social but pretty expensive.

The location and property was so lovely and just what was needed. It was unfortunate to be placed in a room with long term people working as the whole atmosphere was unpleasant as it felt like we were intruding on their space. Curtains would also make the whole experience better as sharing with long term people living there it was at times uncomfortable in the room with those in bed all day.

Only good thing about the hostel is the locations is great and the odd nice staff member. Bar that, DONT STAY HERE! The whole vibe of the place feels so tense, judgey and weird. People are all round uninviting and not the right sort of atmosphere for a backpackers hostel. We’ve never met these people and it feels like everyone hates you and honestly i was dreading every evening going back to the hostel. The kitchen is too thin and cramped it’s a safety hazard! There’s also fines for EVERYT...

Best thing about the hostel is the location, and big well stocked communal kitchen! But honestly I wouldn’t stay here again, the rooms were very small and so crowded, the AC didn’t work well so the rooms got so stuffy at night. Overall not a very sociable hostel and staff could have been friendlier

All in all quite good! Matress wasn't nice, room was smelly and no backpacker atmosphere. Employes very friendly, location amazing!

This is one of my favourite hostels I’ve stayed in. The location is excellent it’s right next to the night markets and the lagoon. The staff are so helpful and the rooms and shared spaces were all very clean! It has a nice rooftop space and a movie room to chill in too!

Stayed in a private room, a lovely view of the front, great location, very clean and comfy bed! Would recommend ☺️

My favourite Hostel! Nice Staff, great kitchen, very cozy!

Super convenient, close to everything, great nightlife and rooms were well taken care of.

Really nice place! Great location, nice and safe feeling. They provide lock boxes under beds, (make sure to bring you own lock). Staff are really helpful and lovely. The huge such clean, well stocked kitchen is the best part. Also beds are nice and comfy

Very helpful staff, easy to check in late. Very good location, good bathrooms and showers (female and male were separate) which I appreciate. Kitchen was a mess later in the evening but that’s due to large number is guests I guess. Good AC in the rooms. Would stay again

Brilliant stay at Global! The staff were so friendly and helpful ( AC broke andbthey switched our room no bother) Place is kept very clean with lots of amenities available. Would recommend to all :))

Really good location! Not as social as I thought it would be, quite a few long term backpackers staying there. Easy to meet people on day trips though!

Stayed in a few hostels in cairns and this was my favourite. Clean, friendly, lovely rooftop area and perfect location right on the main strip. Only issue was my locker was broken which is a big nono for me as I have valuables I want to lock away. Would stay again though :)

Good location & kitchen/rooms were clean. A negative is the check in process after 7pm. We arrived at 8pm & phoned the night manager countless times. 1hr later we got a reply “phone was on silent” we had even phoned reception and knocked on the shutters. Turns out he wasn’t in the building. We were met & didn’t receive a proper apology. Best hostel I’ve been. The view from the kitchen is unreal. The hostel is so clean, everyone is so nice and the vibe is just great. Worth the money, and will definitely come back next time I’m in Cairns
