Pai Forest Resort

The hotel which consists of a series of bungalows is located just outside of Pai. It’s great to get to town quickly by scooter at night for visiting the walking street etc. without having to sleep in the middle of all the noise. It is too far out to walk though. The place offers free water and coffee and has a kitchen which can be used by all guests together. They provide towels. For this price you will not get a room other than dorms anywhere else in Pai. So if you can live with the cons and want to travel Pai and the region on a budget, you will make it two nights or so at this place. The bungalow was filthy. Under the mattress there was a used tooth brush. Under the sink, behind a small panel that kept falling out, there were condoms and other stuff that smelled stinkingly. There were holes in the sheets. The “toiletries” consisted of two small soaps. On the second day a snail made it into the bungalow. There was a number of ants in the bathroom. Other insects could be found in the room–no bed bugs, however, at least not that I would have noticed them. The walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything that happens outside. That being said, you get what you pay for. The place is super cheap. It is obvious that it won’t be luxurious. It might not be all too clean but it is certainly not a health hazard either.
