Avoid avoid avoid!!! ❌ I hadn’t looked at reviews in the days leading to staying here and I really paid the price. Was bitten lots by bed bugs. Hostel owner didn’t care one bit and didn’t take any responsibility for having them or for letting people stay there whilst they knowingly have a problem. Also called me f-ing crazy when I asked for money back/money for laundry.

Unfortunately there is bed bugs. Blitz your bed with the alcohol spray they provide. They are trying to rectify this issue and doing their best to prevent by making people spray their bags but we found a dead bed bug in our bed. We were fresh off the plane from Canada so really doubt it was from us. Private room with private bathroom is cleanest but right next to living room so very loud. Shared shower isn’t very clean, doesn’t drain well.

Bed Bugs ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ They take care of the property - spraying alchol on beds but there are bed bugs. Also its annoying st night very easy to wake people up - small rooms. Staff is nice

BED BUGS, rude staff, overcrowded rooms, and a dysfunctional kitchen. I left one day early after a girl in my room woke up covered in bug bites on her neck, arms, and face. Upon check-in, I noticed a large container of disinfectant spray and immediately worried there might be an issue. Unfortunately, that concern turned out to be valid — the bed bug problem clearly has not been properly addressed. I requested a refund, but the owner refused. An older woman who is present all day closely monitors everything in the kitchen, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. While I was quietly cooking, she opened the refrigerator, pulled out my reusable shopping bag, held it up, and said, “No bags in the fridge! This bag could be dirty — I don’t know where it came from.” I pointed out that there were other bags in the fridge, and she responded, “Those are plastic bags.” If reusable bags are not allowed, that could have been communicated politely. The interaction was rude, unnecessary, and felt targeted. The kitchen itself is poorly designed. A large table takes up most of the space, making it difficult to move around. The cooking stove is located outside, while all cooking supplies are kept inside, forcing guests to constantly go in and out while preparing meals. The rooms are extremely overcrowded, with eight beds packed tightly together — the mattresses are literally touching. There is only one toilet and shower upstairs in an attic-like space with very low clearance; I am 5'3" and could barely stand comfortably. The toilet is directly above the sleeping area, so every sound carries into the rooms. The only other toilet is in the kitchen where it's practically used as a storage space. I would never stay here again or recommend this place even for a single night. The owner needs to seriously reevaluate space usage, hygiene standards, and staff behavior to create a safe, functional, and welcoming environment.

We stayed for one night and we had an issue: our bed was full of bed bugs. Apparently the room had been closed for several weeks and they decided to offer it to us without cleaning it properly. The night was a nightmare. We ended up full of bites all over the face and we couldn’t sleep anything. This affected seriously our trip in the following days, as bedbugs infect your clothes and you bring them anywhere you go. We tried to contact the hostel management regarding this issue. We would have been happy if at least they apologized to us and gave us the money back. But nothing of this happened. They did not reply to us, even though we messaged them several times. It was a proper ghosting. I really find this irresponsible and disrespectful towards the customer. We contacted Booking and there was little they could do, they said. Therefore, we are going to sue the hostel trough the national customer care agency.

Lovely hostel, everything looked spotless. The common areas are spacious, and there’s a covered terrace with a gas stove and sink for cooking. Regarding the comments about bed bugs, I had no issues at all — I stayed several days, and from what I talked about with the owner, they had renovated everything, including the walls and beds, since it’s an old house. Overall, I really liked it and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended

BEDBUGS!!April 25 We were a couple of people discovering bedbugs in both dorms. We informed the staff, they started being rude and blaming me bc "I'm from France and I take the metro and then bring them here". The older woman told me to stop walking around in the hostel otherwise I'll spread them everywhere. Only the youngest one was professional and gave me another room for the night. In general the hostel is nice and good location but the staff is horrible, we left earlier and without refund.

Initially I would have said don’t stay in the single room with shared bathroom. It is worse than the pictures. I had to walk through a male dorm to get there, up dangerous stairs, couldn’t stand up I the room and no floor space. There is a little space in a small storage area filled with junk. Shower doesn’t drain. I would have said the people seem nice, just try a different room Then I got bed bugs. I Read recent reviews and appears to be a problem but I contacted them via what’s app they said they had another room a could move to and figured this was the easiest option. When I returned that evening the management were still not present and I was told I was moving to a different hostel. I did not want to move so asked for my money back. The English speaking lady rang me and asked me to consider the alternative property and to look it up. I said I would call back. The other property was a couple of blocks away and I didn’t want to be further from town, with a lack of staff presence and i didn’t want to be isolated plus I’d lost trust when they did not tell me Initially I’d be moving hostel ( they had rooms in the main building at the time I reported the problem) I asked the guy on reception if I could speak to the lady again as I’d like my money back and to leave. He spoke with her and informed me I could only have one night refunded instead of 2 as I’d not given 48 hour notice. I kept asking to speak to a manager again and he kept refusing and eventually told me that his instructions were to not call them back about this matter or let me speak to them again. This is the most appalling display of management and customer service. In situations I’ve come across bedbugs before it was dealt with instantly ( my room wasn’t touched all day) with politeness and staff were apologetic. It did not to be deal breaker for the hostel. I cut my (small) loses and left.

Great place! The lady there is adorable and takes care of the general spaces. The place has a backyard which is nice and the rooms have their charm. They offer Coffee. Well located. Paying they keep your stuff if you are going to do a Trekk to Torres del Paine . Problem, there are bed bugs. They need to check on that.

We had bedbugs in our room (the twin room in the upper part of the house). When we realized and told them they had the amazing idea of put silicon between the wooden holes of the bed and room to avoid the bedbugs to come. I could not sleep because of the smell of it. We had to lay down with clothes in the beds with the smell and open windows for 4 hours without sleep. And yes, the bedbegas came anyway that night, we found several in the beds during morning. The owner made a 50% discount for THAT night and that was all. Considering we could not use the room to sleep during whole night and that we were bitten all the other nights we stay anyway (first we though it was moskito or allergy or anything else until we found the first bedbug). I even got fever because of this, one day before to enter torres del paine park. It felt that the owner didn't really care about the bedbugs, they actually still had bookings there after us, they didn't close the room. I even took bedbugs to Santiago with me it was the most disgusting experience ever 👎 nice stuff and beautiful and cozy place but this situation cannot be accepted, they should close and fumigate

We booked the double room with twin beds & spent 3 hours sleeping in them before realising there were bed bugs :( luckily we didn't sleep well so didn't get too many bites but had to vacate the room & remove all our bags as soon as we discovered these at 3am & have obviously had to pay to wash all our clothes. We thoroughly checked all our clothes & bags so hoping we haven't carried these with us!! :( We didn't pay & the property told us they had got exterminators out once we left but we had spent the night awake reviewing "bed bugs" for this hostel on Booking.com & Google & it seems there have been many cases of this. I'm not sure whether they are just unlucky or whether they just have never properly sorted the problem. The kitchen facilities also aren't the greatest for the amount of people staying. One kitchen knife between everyone?

8 people compressed in a 20 square meter room, smelling like paint and way too hot with no windows to open. No space to put your luggage either. And then: bed bugs. According to google, these have been there for a long time already.

Sauf que la première nuit nous nous sommes rendus compte qu'il y avait des bed bugs partout dans le dortoir situé à droite. Mon compagnon a été piqué 25 fois et des Australiens en face de nos lits également. Nous avons remonté le problème et avons été remboursé. En revanche ils ont refait les lits pour de prochains arrivants ! Pas correct du tout car le problème est a traiter, il y en avait vraiment beaucoup.

BEWARE! BED BUGS! I was about to come back to this hostel for 3 more nights after the National Park, but even after one night my body was covered with bedbug bites, so I canceled it and had to find another hostel late in the night after returning from the park. The lady from the reception said they are aware of the problem and clean the room everyday, I think they need an exterminator.

Severe problem with bed bugs. Me and my partner got bitten literally hundreds of times. You see them come out of the walls at night. We told staff, who were aware of the issue and said they fumigate daily, but it's not made any difference. I asked for my money back and they initially asked for my PayPal but then just stopped responding to me and have yet to refund any money.

Unfortunately, when noticing several red spots on my skin after the first night, I checked my bed in more detail and found bed bugs! When informing the responsible person about it, all she said was 'oh, they are back', then turned around and talked to a staff member. I understand that bed bugs can be an issue in hostels & hotels and that its difficult to get rid of them. Nevertheless, such a reaction in such a situation is disappointing from my point of view.

Unfortunately bed bugs. Staff was super kind and helpful, bed was comfy. Pillow wasn’t great. Unfortunately again - bed bugs. No bueno. :/ 3/6 of my group was bit.

I loved my stay there. The beds are super comfy and warm especially when you come back from hiking for such a long time. In general i can recommend staying there. However there are a few downsides. CAUTION, even tho didn’t happen to me, i stayed in the bed left directly next to the reception. There seems to be a huge problem with bedbugs. I had several backpackers showing me really nasty pictures and telling me bad stories about. To the point where they had to take medication and still have scars of the bedbugs. Inform yourself if its going on and be cautious. the other problem was the bathroom and locker situation,especially if so many people are leaving for treks for Torres. It’s one bathroom for 8 people and it’s Rushhour in the morning. Same with the lockers

Very poor stay. I checked in to find that my room was being worked on (ceiling repair) and wasn’t ready for another 3 hours. When I finally got in the room, the bathroom was covered in dust. The next day, I was woken up to loud hammering and drilling all morning from upstairs. And finally…they have a bed bug problem and I got eaten by them. I told reception but they didn’t care. Awful stay.

Decent hostel. Good location, about 11 min walk from the bus station and plenty of shops nearby. Cleaning lady cleans daily and makes the bed which was nice. However, there seems to be a bed bug problem here, I got bit in a million places while staying here.
