Trip GG Hostel

This was the worst place I’ve stayed in all of Asia. It’s got a horrible atmosphere where it feels like they don’t want you to talk above a whisper in the common area. My friend and I were having a very casual conversation in the common area at 745 pm and were told to be quiet. No one else talked during our whole stay there. I think it’s a converted office building with the awful lighting to match. We only had a short time before our flight or we would have found another place to stay.

This hostel is seriously overrated. The location is without dispute amazing and the dorm rooms themself are good in the scheme of things. However, the facilities in general (bathrooms, common area and hallway) are run down. No atmosphere and no enthusiasm from staff. Lots of unwritten rules to follow. It was quite a depressing place to stay.

Ok place to stay… If you’re looking for a social environment this is not not the place… Rooms are decent, bathrooms are nice only thing is they are tiny! Staff could have been more sweet ..

Most dead hostel I’ve ever been to. And the make receptionist has an attitude and is never at his desk!

Good location, bed are comfortable but the hostel generally feels a bit grimey and dirty. No atmosphere and doesn't feel safe (the door only locks from the inside so during the day when no one is in, the room is accessible to anyone and the dorms are right by the entrance). Wouldn't stay here again.

Solid, central hostel for a stay in Kaohsiung. Kitchen is helpful, lounge area is nice (though not massively social). Shows off policy inside which is nice. Lockers slightly small. Beds have curtains, plug sockets and light :) Great location next to the station, but can be hard to spot (as it’s on 6th floor). Only negative is the lack of social, but think that’s because it was off season.

location is great just at the subway station and there is a big common area to chill. Bed was confortable! The only negative point was the smell in my room of humidity.

Another ghost town. I had a 4 bed room. I was alone. Just enough space to walk. The beds do not face each other. It is nice. U have men&women toilettes&bathrooms separate. Very nice. An old place , they are trying to keep clean and well maintained. I can stay here again. Very nice kitchen but haven’t seen anybody cooking. The kitchen has a sitting area with tables which had the highlight. A glass wall window for great evening hours. We need mirrors in the room.

I had a great stay, it was near Everything and a Nice facilites.

Sehr gutes Hostel mit angenehmer, zentraler Lage und bequemen Betten. Das Bad war sauber und die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Es war nicht besonders Social aber ich konnte auch gut connecten

Great hostel! Beds were comfortable and the common space has a nice view. The showers were a little gross in the morning but nothing terrible. My only suggestion would be to host some group events (tours, outings, etc.), or even help with local tours at the front desk. Would give guests more opportunity to meet each other and socialise.

Great hostel, right in the center of the city. Very convenient.

Highly recommend this place. Will definitely stay here again when back in Kaohsiung. Located right above Dome of Light and next to Liuhe night market. Common areas are super festive too Only thing I’d caution about is the doors don’t auto-lock (it’s with keys) so if you’re in a shared room the door will probably be unlocked if others leave

A very safe and comfortable hostel. They don't run activities so it's not the most "social" but I think that fairly typical of Taiwan hostels. However the location is great, staff are super helpful, bunks are comfortable and it's very clean. I found it hard to figure out the laundry situation but you just have to ask staff as they wash sheets throughout the day. I'd stay here again.

Lovely hostel- super clean. Loved the separate male and female bathrooms. Not the most social but that’s Taiwan! Only downside is there were only 3 showers, so you were waiting quite a while sometimes. It would be good if the staff offered recommendations also.
