Pension Lisdos

On the positive side the location was easy to find and is very central for a stay in Sevilla. The paid support staff are pleasant too. That is unfortunately where the positives for this property end. Our experience was very negative at Pensión Lisdos. We booked our stay here at the start and end of a bike trip with the hope of storing our sealed bike boxes somewhere safe in a left luggage room for the time we were away. Following on from my earlier review, we returned to Pensión Lisdos at the end of our bike trip to find we were allocated the same room as we had been in 5 days previous that possibly had an issue with bed bugs. I asked what had been done to treat that and they informed me that only a visual inspection was necessary to verify that there were not bed bugs in the double bed in room 105. I was also told that they can live in the walls and other furnishings, not something I was aware of previously… We were also not allowed to store the closed bike boxes in our room this time as I had been watched on CCTV and it had been identified I must have opened the bike box the week previous. While I had done this to remove some clothes I had not taken out the full bicycle in the room which was the instructions I was given. We were then not allowed to secure the bike boxes (with €3000 bikes inside) to anything in the storage place as this presented an inconvenience to the owner, apparently. For the record on return to this room we did not suffer any further bed bug bites. However we were made to feel like a total inconvenience and we left feeling like we had been trodden all over rather than welcomed as you might expect cyclists to be in continental Europe. It is also telling when the paid support staff apologise to you discretely for the behaviour of their boss towards you as a guest. That says it all. In my view I would avoid Pensión Lisdos at all costs. If there is anything that doesn’t go to plan it is likely to cause a real headache in our experience. Happy travels elsewhere.

After building up our bikes early one morning, paying €30 per bike box for storage and leaving the property, we noticed that my cousin had received the characteristic bites from bed bugs, having slept in the double bed in room 105. In order to not cause a great fuss we sent a private message to the Owner on booking.com to inform them that the bed in room 105 should be treated before the next guest. While it is unclear whether we brought the bed bugs or they were in the bed already, we received a vitriolic response blaming us for bringing the bed bugs/insects and denying that anything is necessary to be done. We were also watched on CCTV building our bikes in the entrance way to see if we were breaking any “rules”. We were told that bike boxes may have brought insects to the room - highly unlikely in our view. We responded to say that we didn’t want to cause offence, just to highlight a possible issue for the next guest. Of course we were highly surprised to be treated by the owner in such an unprofessional manner. I would highly recommend spending your money elsewhere if you can avoid interacting with this unreasonable person. Happy travels elsewhere.
