Turn Hostel

Hormis la localisation en centre ville et les douches/sanitaires, c'est loin d'être un Hostel, mais uniquement des chambres dortoirs accessibles directement depuis l'extérieur et n'ayant aucune isolation. On entend tout ce qui se passe dans la rue. De plus, aucune commodité n'est prévue, hormis des casiers, une pauvre petite table sur laquelle posée un micro-ondes et une chaise pour une chambre de 6 personnes. Et le pire, c'est que les lieux sont infestés de punaises de lit. Je me suis faite piquée pendant 2 nuits, croyant que c'était des moustiques, mais je n'ai jamais vu ni entendu le moustique en question. En cherchant dans le lit, je retrouve des punaises de 5mm (c'est la première fois de ma vie que j'ai à faire à des punaises de lit). En déposant ma valise dans le stockage du PUB, le seuil était plein de poudre de bois dû aux punaises. En gros, je repars avec une réaction allergique aux punaises en plus de la peur d'infecter les hôtels où je vais me rendre ainsi que mon appartement. Pour moi, c'est à fuire, même un occultant pour la baie n'a pas été prévu, tout le monde doit être réveillé au lever du soleil. Bref, une déception totale pour moi.

As a group of English people we found this hostel very funny as you check in in the “English pub”. Good location and good showers/ toilet area. We were concerned about bed bugs after seeing some other reviews but this wasn’t an issue thankfully!

This hostel is a theme-park of the worst of England. Check-in happens at the creatively named England Pub where staff say cheerio instead of bye. As an English person, the towns they choose to display are bizarre (why Hull of all places?) and the portrait of the queen made me giggle. Hostel beds are infested with bed bugs, but the showers are nice. The kitchen facilities are practically non-existent with a microwave, kettle, paper plates and no cutlery. As a female traveller, I wouldn’t drink in the pub because it’s full of older men. If you enjoy novelty and you can embrace the surreal, you’ll like it here.

BEDBUGS a nightmare the first night of our trip. Seeing the amount of bites we got, it is not a new problem there. Looking afterwards at the reviews, we noticed (too late) that we weren’t the first. We sent an email to the hostel tri which they responded they would take care of it. However, we have no way to confirm it. Good luck to the next travelers

Left one night early as I found bedbugs everywhere. Someone mentioned the bedbug issue earlier, but unfortunately they haven’t been able to do something about it. Might be different for the other rooms (I was in one of the dorms that is accessed from the street). Otherwise everything was okay.

Besides the fact that staying there two nights I got bit by bed bugs and had an horrible allergic reaction that kind of ruined my trip, the hostel was a good one, specially considering the pub right next to it that helps the socialisation. But they should really inspect their beds and sheets and get them properly clean.
