Hostel Dalagatan

J’ai passé 6 jours dans cette auberge de jeunesse avec des amies. Malgré des avis précédents un peu inquiétants, notre expérience à été satisfaisante dans l'ensemble. Nous logions dans un dortoir privé à quatre, avec salle de bain commune partagée avec un autre dortoir. La salle de bain était toujours propre et jamais occupée, ce qui est très appréciable. Les lits après inspection, ne présentaient aucune trace de punaises de lit – un point rassurant pour les voyageurs. Petit bémol : les rebords de fenêtres n’avaient pas été nettoyés avant notre arrivée, et nous y avons trouvé quelques petits insectes morts (probablement des triboliums). Ça ne gâche pas le sommeil, mais un peu de nettoyage en plus aurait été bienvenu. En ce qui concerne l’ambiance, ne vous attendez pas à retrouver l’esprit typique des auberges de jeunesse : beaucoup de résidents sont des personnes plus âgées, semblant vivre là à l’année, et passent le temps à regarder la TV. Nous avons même été priées de nous taire à table parce que nous parlions un peu fort – assez surprenant et un peu strict pour un lieu censé être convivial. En résumé : très bon rapport qualité‑prix, surtout pour un séjour entre amis ou en dortoir privé. Ce n’est pas l’idéal si vous venez seul·e ou devez partager votre chambre avec des inconnus, à cause de la promiscuité.

I’ve stayed in many hostels all over Europe and this was the worst by FAR. Rooms are very small and poorly ventilated so absolutely stink. Sure, there’s nothing that can be done about room size but the amount of people crammed into one room is ridiculous. My room was next to the toilet so it was incredibly loud - you could hear people being sick throughout the night and this happened surprisingly often. People also kept mistaking my room for the toilet so I had people trying to get into my room throughout the day and night which was distributive and also honestly scary, as a young solo female traveler. There are loads of elderly people who seem to live in the hostel permanently. They are hostile and can be violent (as mentioned in other reviews also). It felt really unsafe and I did try to call the emergency number and also the main reception number but there was never any answer. Considering hostel staff are only present between 10am-3pm this is completely unacceptable. Safety is absolutely not a priority and aside from the basic measure of security cameras, there is nothing in place to protect guests in a frankly hostile and unsafe environment. It was really not clean either despite the regular cleaning services, which did very surface level cleaning and at incredibly inconvenient hours, such as the time when most people are using the kitchen - they just clean around you and it’s awkward and slightly passive aggressive. Other guests told me about inappropriate behavior from older male guests towards young female guests, and as you can see from other reviews there is photographic evidence of the bed bugs! Awful! Generator hostel is 8 mins up the road and so lovely! I ended up leaving the hostel my last night as I felt so unsafe. Went to generator instead and had no problems. It’s fractionally more expensive but better than ending up on the receiving end of the hostile guests nasty behaviour and potentially even being hurt. Hostel Dalagatan was absolutely appalling, as many of the reviews here also say. No doubt there will be some rude response from the hostel. Their responses to the other negative reviews are laughable - just calling people liars and belittling their negative experiences by trying to humiliate them. Maybe it’s time to actually take some accountability ?? lol

Bed bug infestation, had to leave because of that. Cleaning was horrible and the staff did nothing about it.

Alors l'hôtel est Infester par des punaise de lits! Mon corps est remplie de gros bouton. personnelle très irrespectueux ma gifler pour une demande de remboursement du a punaise de lit ! A fuir !

La chambre était occupée par des personnes sans abri, odeur tenace, ronflements épouvantables, j’ai retrouvé des punaises de lit dans mes affaires. J’ai même dû écourter ma nuit.

I was bitten by bed bug.Bed was pretty dirty.

I woke up in the morning after my first night with several bites on my body, I thought it could be mosquitoes, I informed the reception and the options they gave me was to check out or to fumigate the room and clean the room. I accepted the fumigation option because I didn't want to have the stress of having to look for another place to stay at the last minute, cleaning the room with fumigation solved it for a couple of days, until I woke up again with bites all over my body, at 5 o'clock this morning I wake up feeling something in bed, I turn on the light and see several bedbugs. There is no one at the reception, because the reception is only open from 10:00 until 15:00. As I already had to leave today, I preferred to just leave but I'm writing my complaint here so that other people don't go through the same situation.

Something was biting me in my top bunk when I was sleeping, either bed bugs or lice. Means that the bed was not very clean. Ankles, wrists, waist, everywhere my skin touched the bed it got bit. Very hard to sleep because of that.

Disgusting place. Bed bugs all over. "Cleaning every day", yet our room had food on the floor under the bed. Only good thing is its location but everything inside the building is poor. Just go to Scandic or something instead

In general, everything was ok, except that we came back home with bedbugs. Before discovering the bedbugs I would have given 5/5 stars, the hostel also seemed very clean during the stay.

Bro you have bed bugs. Do something.
