Wombat's City Hostel Leipzig

One of the worst hostels you can stay at in all of Germany. The hostel staff's behavior is extremely racist. Even after paying the full amount and checking in, the room was still not ready. When you ask the reception desk for the reason for these problems, they suddenly give you a false blame and refuse to hand over the room. The customer service is extremely poor; the hostel really needs good management. They take your money but refuse to provide service. What kind of business is this?

in online check in it was written we could do the check in now and get keys earlier when we arrived we did the check in but we were told to wait 8 hrs to enter room

Mi è stato detto dal personale di scegliere il letto che volevo tra quelli liberi, ma in stanza c’erano vestiti e oggetti sparsi ovunque e non si capiva quale letto fosse libero. Gli armadietti erano tutti pieni di vestiti buttati a caso. La stanza e il bagno erano sporchi. Il secondo giorno quando sono tornata in stanza la signora delle pulizie aveva disfatto il mio letto come se avessi fatto il check out e aveva spostato le mie cose, perciò ho trovato il letto che avevo preparato occupat...

Personal war sehr lieb :) Aber an sich fehlen hier leider die Basics wie Licht und Steckdose am Bett Küche gibt es leider keine Es gibt zwar ein Café, aber keinen richtigen Aufenthaltsraum / Platz zum Chillen

The staff were very kind which is a plus but the dorm i was in was incredibly hot to the point that i couldn’t sleep for the two nights i stayed, there was a small fan in the corner of the room but unfortunately it didn’t reach the full room and also was turned off by other guests due to noise for both nights.

The room I stayed in is located right next to a big road, with 24/7 traffic, so I had a very poor night of sleep. I was also quite disappointed that they advertise there’s a kitchen, but there was no stove in this kitchen, so I couldn’t cook any of the food I brought with me. I would have appreciated if this had been communicated in advance.

Very depressing hostel, sparsely decorated, small and uncomfortable common area. Beds are not made upon arrival. Laundry is expensive. Worst: I came to breakfast at 7am when it opened, and the coffee was cold!

Vor einigen Jahren war ich schon einmal im Hostel und hatte es sehr angenehm in Erinnerung. Unterdessen ist der Charme schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen... Vieles wirkt nicht so richtig gepflegt ( Spieleecke, Teekueche). Groesstes Plus bleibt die Lage. Ärgernis war das Fruehstuecksbuffet: In einem Hostel erwarte ich nicht viel, aber dass im Jahr 2024 keine Pflanzenmilch angeboten wird - auch auf Nachfrage nicht - erstaunt doch, ist nicht zeitgemäß und mir noch nirgendwo passiert.

Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiterinnen, sauberes, schlichtes Einzel-Zimmer und sauberes Bad. Man hört die Leute auf dem Gang reden, aber sonst ist es ruhig im Zimmer. Zum Frühstück gab es nicht so viel Auswahl, einziges Manko meiner Meinung nach. Bleibe gerne wieder! :)

Perfect location for both the main station (20 minute walk) and the old town centre. My twin room was excellent, smartly furnished, with very clean en suite bathroom. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a little pricey but pretty good. Would highly recommend.

It's a place to lay your head. Not too much sleep due to the busy road and thundering trams. Not a buzzy vibe like other Wombat hostels.

Great stay while I was there it was relatively chilled vibes whilst I was there but still always plenty of people to connect with although there are 200 immaculate rooms so I’d imagine it can get busy when events are on in town, I was surprised at how modern and tidy the place was for the money so definitely great value too. All of the staff I met are incredibly friendly and helpful and the people I met here were cool too.

Me gusto muchisimoo, bonito lugar, tranquilo, personal muy amigable. La cocina un poco pequeña pero sinceramente tenía todo lo que necesitabamos y casi siempre estaba disponible para su uso. Bien ubicado, con supermercados y tiendas cerca, desde ahí caminamos a la mayoría de los lugares a los que queríamos ir.

Probably the best hostel in Germany in that price bracket. The staff is attentive, the service is top notch and there is proper cleaning (not a given in many places I've seen around Europe). Free bread and tea are also provided, which is much appreciated.

This is a fabulous hostel, clean and felt very safe. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm, the bathroom was large and had comfortable beds. I will say the atmosphere was lacking a bit, the common area was quiet and people kept to themselves. There is a decent sized kitchen with all the cooking needs and only a 5 minute walk to the tram. While I was there, someone tried to walk in off the street and the staff were onto it right away and didn't let him in and called the police.

Nice hostel in the city centre

Solid place to stay with clean and modern facilities. Would be nice to have a curtain and power point on each bed.

It was really good, only wish they provided locks for the storage, but apart from that it was perfect!

Tout est bien, a part le personnel dans la réception qui ne sont pas accueillant et compréhensible.

Gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, super Lage!
