Bayside Inn & Waterfront Suites

+ The desk agent went out of his way to help us and apologized for not having the room we paid for.

- We were sent to 3 tiny rooms first which were not what we paid for. The "apartment" we ended up in was not Lakeview, the walls were paper thin, we could hear the neighbour coming and going and cooking long before sunrise. The ac unit had open space on either side, open to the outside so cold air and street and train noise were coming in all night. It was also dirty, the tub had lots of soap scum, mouse droppings in kitchen drawers, dirt and dust bunnies everywhere. My husband stepped on something crusty in the carpet and the bathroom faucet wasn't even attached..and there was lots more wrong with the room... It was a disgusting room and nothing like the nice Lakeview suite I paid $223 for. Very disappointing, we feel we should get a refund. I took pictures of everything. This was our worst hotel experience ever.

- The photos in the ad do not correspond to reality. Room 5 meters from a busy road and 20 meters from a freight train track. Infernal noise from the train and the road all night. Deplorable cleaning. Dead insects in the corners. Blankets with holes, dirt under the beds. Broken elements of the facilities. Broken air conditioning. We did not even want to touch the kitchen after opening some drawers and seeing dirt accumulated for days. Suitcase closet with a corpse smell (recent) The service is deplorable and the gentlemen who run the establishment have been very unpleasant throughout our stay. We asked for additional blankets and they did not give them to us. We asked to change rooms before even sleeping the first night and they did not attend to us despite being there for two nights. Finally we asked for a discount for the state of cleanliness (we showed them the photos that we attached to the comment) and their argument was that they would not give us any discount because they had NEVER had any complaints. NEVER AGAIN IN LIFE in this place. Booking should review and expel this type of establishment. In short, PIRATES of the hospitality industry.

- Outside deck off the room was dirt cigarette butts left Table outside dirty They advertise breakfast included Haven’t done that it 5 years Advertise a toast in room Nope. AC leaks water in the room. Carpets stained Pictures are not what the room looks like

- I’ve stayed in some questionable places before, but this was on another level. From the moment we stepped into the room, it felt like we’d entered a horror movie set. The air was thick with the smell of stale cigarettes, and the room was dim and musty. Spider webs clung to every corner, and insects scuttled across the floor. The bathroom was no better—mold was growing under the sink, and a black, grimy substance lined the tub. The toilet paper rolls were nearly used up, and there were no extras provided. The jacuzzi, which we were excited about, was out of order. To top it off, the staff were indifferent and unhelpful when we tried to voice our concerns. The location was another disaster. The train tracks were so close that the noise was deafening, making it impossible to relax. We lasted about five minutes before we grabbed our bags and left. This place is a health and safety hazard. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

+ It was clean, it was pretty comfortable, but we didn't expect the railroad located pretty close. Frankly speaking it wasn't bother us at night time at all. The owner was very friendly.

- The view from the window ( the fence 🙃) wasn't awesome, but it's OK since we came late and it was one night only.

+ Cutlery drawer and tray dirty, some dirt on baseboards, otherwise very clean. Beds comfortable. Says they take pets, but they only take dogs. No other pets. Does not let you select the type of pet on Bookings.com

- That it wasn't clear on bookings that it was dogs only. No other type of pets allowed. Little tight going into room as it steps down and the low to the ground sofa is there. No TV where sofa is. There was only 1 TV and it was across from the beds. I thought the listing said 2 TV's. Overall it was a comfortable suite for 3 adults.

+ We liked the proximity to the lake and Kingston. We were travelling Niagara to Montreal. It was a good stopover. It snowed overnight and we will never forget that in itself. We loved Kingston.

- The manager wasn’t aware we had booked so it perhaps wasn’t as clean and ready as it could have been.. we were 3A & 1C. It was a bit cramped for room. My daughter was cold on the sofa.

+ The room was perfect. Very clean with a marble bathroom from floor to ceiling! Waterfall shower was beautiful touch.

- Our stay was in the winter. With a wonderful view of the bay….im sure it would be so beautiful in the summer.

+ We were attending a function at the legion so this location, a short walk was very convenient.

- It is a very moderate hotel. Bathroom was outdated, even the soap and shampoo was slightly used, no cream or extra coffee available.

+ The room was large, warm and a good view The location was outside of town which was good for one night with an exceptional restaurant two doors down so no driving to get to eat or drt

+ Nice by the water, staff was lovely

- Unfortunately there were bed bugs in our room and I got multiple bites as well as my family.
