Trip & Sleep Hostel

the hostel facilities are basically fine but the female owner is not. she comes into the room at 11pm without knocking, yelling that the lights should be off and that we need to go to bed. never experienced that and said what?! she said the room was to cold, puts the old tiny AC on 25c and walks away. asking her twice to put it on 22c made her walk off several times and eventually put the heater on... after midnight my roomie eventually made her putting the AC on 22c but no respect to guests.

The room had a very bad smell, and the showers did too. The bed weren’t the same as the picture, and I had to pay to use the locker by my bed. Cheap yes, but not as good as the other hostels I’ve stayed at in Japan.

To be honest, I don’t recommend in summer, my bunk was a top bunk and with the configuration of the room it received no air conditioning at all, and on a 34C day I felt like I was suffocating and couldn’t sleep at all. They also don’t have lockers in the room for your things. Aside from that, the staff are nice and it’s very clean, so maybe in another season it would be worth it (or if you have a bed that has access to the aircon). Also not really a social vibe.

Really average place in a trendy area. This place was dark in the common areas. Good shower with consistent water temperature. It did not seem like the common area was used by guests much.

Overall a decent place to stay. The common area wasn’t too great a place to hang out, but they stored luggage for the day, which was nice.

Good locality but no vibe there , everyone keeps silence , a bit boring

they kick you out between 12pm -3pm. very inconvenient if you need to work- or catch a Bus/train later during the Day.

Great little spot right off of the big covered shopping mall area. The beds were just ok. The bathrooms were basic decent Japanese standard. Staff were wonderfully friendly and spoke English. Minor comment for management: the building has some potent musty smells in some areas. A dehumidifier would help. Other than that it was a fantastic stay and I will absolutely come back the next time I’m in town.

Great hostel. You do make your own bed fyi. Not social but nice and chill.

Muy bueno el alojamiento, muy tranquilo y muy limpio. Me tocó la suerte de que me quede en las habitaciones del piso 2 y justo ahí estaban los baños para tomar una ducha. El personal es bueno pero no excelente.

Would’ve been nice if they put the bedsheet and pillow case themselves as travelers are usually tired after a long trip. In addition, would also be nice if they create a way to build community so hostel people has a way to mingle with others. But other than that, it’s all good.

Honestly I really liked the atmosphere, it was very clean and tidy everywhere. The staff is friendly and supportive too.

A very comfy bed, and a great location!

Overall super happy with this place and would stay again, only downside was that it was humid and warmer than was comfortable in the room we stayed in, and we couldn't adjust the air conditioning. There's also no lockers in the room for luggage, just space next to the beds and for additional fee a key to a small personal item locker.

The kitchen was quite small, could be difficult to cook dinner but it seems people don't stay very long in Nagoya. The location was close to public transport, restaurants and coffee shops. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, always having time to help or answer questions.

An absolute lovely hostel, with great services and a staff of incredibly warm and welcoming people, absolutely recommended ! Top place in Nagoya! I hope to go back one day :)

Fijn hostel. De medewerkers zijn ook super vriendelijk en je kan altijd een leuk praatje met ze maken. Matras lag lekker en alles was schoon. Al om al een erg sociaal hostel.

Had a great stay at Trip & Sleep. Nice relaxed atmosphere, great location, and staff happy to chat and offer good recommendations for food and events. Maybe some small events in the hostel to get guests introduced to each other would be nice, but that might go against the calm vibe of the shared usage space. The kitchen is also a bit limited in what you can make, but that also stopped the space from getting too busy/messy from people trying to make dinner. A happy recommendation!

This is a clean place to go sleep. No kitchen ad used in hostel. Refrigerator, microwave and hot water dispenser. Make your own coffee,tea. No shower in every floor. The location makes the hostel. No sitting relaxing are but tables near kitchen. In the area, I will use it again. Thanks

Probably the nicest hostel I’ve stayed in on my trip. Clean, comfy, quiet, reception staff were all lovely and very helpful. If I’m ever back in the area I will absolutely stay again!

It is a cheap and small hostel, however it is the best hoste I know so far in Nagoya. They take care very well.
