Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. We were only two girls in the hostel room and noticed bed bugs during the night. The staff, who were very friendly at first, immediately moved us to a private room, which we really appreciated. However, we then discovered bed bugs in that room as well. It was already midnight when we noticed, and there was no staff available anymore, so we ended up sleeping outside in the hammock. Later, when the owner woke up in the middle of the night and my friend explained that we had found bed bugs again, his reaction was upsetting. He became angry and blamed us, saying that we must have brought them in ourselves. In the original room, a mattress was missing, which made us feel that the issue might have already been known, and with wooden beds, we understand how difficult this problem can be to manage. We understand that bed bugs are extremely hard for hostels to get rid of, but blaming guests is not the right way to handle the situation. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable night and a terrible sleep in the hammock. We left at 6 a.m. without seeing anyone. It’s really a pity, because the hostel itself is very pretty and the staff was kind at the beginning. Sadly, the way the situation was handled left us with a negative impression.
