+ Der neu gebaute Teil des Hostels / Anlage ist ziemlich cool.
- Es war mega laut! Die Zimmer bzw. Dampfünd ist nicht vorhanden. Man hört jeden Schritt. Zudem war mein Bett stein hart.
+ Pior hostel que já me hospedei
- Limpeza, organização, disponibilidade dos quartos, hostel é gerenciado por adolescentes que parecem estar mais de férias do que trabalhando.
- Posto sudicio. Siamo arrivati alle 15:30 e, sebbene il check in fosse alle 14, nella stanza c'era ancora l'ospite precedente. La stanza è stata consegnata alle 16:15 ma nonostante ci avessero detto che erano state fatte le pulizie, abbiamo trovato le lenzuola sporche di macchie che sembravano fluidi seminali, peli e altri tessuti. Anche le pareti erano sporche di macchie gialle. Siamo andati via alla ricerca di un altro alloggio perdendo tempo prezioso per la nostra ultima notte a Rio. Terribile.

- Installations extrêmement vétustes. C'est incompréhensible. Des fils électriques qui pendent dans les douches avec du 220v qui touche presque l'arrivée d'eau. Je suis surpris qu'il n'y ait pas encore eu d'accidents graves. En Europe cet hostel aurait fermé avec une grosse amende voir pire pour mise en danger de la vie d'autrui. La majorité du staff super. Sauf une jeune femme brune brésilienne qui assurait la réception de nuit : extrêmement désagréable, à la limite de l'impolitesse et inefficace au possible. Sécurité des grilles extérieures à revoir. un soir elles étaient ouvertes sur la rue et tout le monde pouvait rentré. Dans l'ensemble c'est vraiment dommage vu les prix élevés pratiqués pour un hostel que le minimum ne soit pas fait juste pour qu'il ne s'agisse pas d'un grand squat maquillé mais bien d'un établissement hôtelier de type hostel. Avec une nuit de ce que génère l'hôstel on réglerait tout les problèmes. A nouveau c'est incompréhensible..
+ The hostel is located at the top of a hill, making it inaccessible by foot (especially dangerous after dark). I booked 2 nights stay and requested a laundry service upon arrival, only to be told that it is not available every day. When I asked if there were any nearby laundry facilities, I was informed there were none. The staff was unhelpful and showed no concern for my situation. As a result, I had to find another hostel in the dark and pay for a taxi to return to the city. It was a complete waste of time and money.

- Sitio sucio, desordenado. Las habitaciones parecían tolderias, tuve que pagar más por una habitación decente y con baño compartido. Es un sitio para adolescentes poco aseados. Fuman en cualquier sitio.

- Got a nice looking room on the photos which turned out to be in the new building. Seems like they didn’t finish renovating it but already sold the rooms. There was a big hole in my door instead of the handle. Literally no one around to ask for anything . And charging 300 EUR per night what a joke

- We had a series of problems: reception messed up our booking (initially changed us from private rooms to dorms before our stay saying the booking on this platform didn’t exist despite me sending them screenshots of the confirmation, then when we checked in they tried to split up our group further into separate dorms despite multiple email confirmations about us being in the same 2 dorms), they double booked one of the dorm beds so one of our group found a random man in her bed late at night and all her stuff had been moved without her permission into a bin bag at reception, one dorm had no working lights during the whole stay, half the hostel was an active building site as they’re constructing lots of new buildings, one of our guests found his dorm bed completely filthy and uncleaned, the rooms came without pretty basic amenities like toilet roll and hand soap until we had to go back to reception to ask for these multiple times (private rooms didn’t come with locks or towels until asking too), staff didn’t tell us about codes for certain areas meaning we wasted time being locked out, staff were also not helpful when we asked for these issues to be resolved until we resorted to having to try escalate it with a more senior figure. When I listed the problems we’d experienced to the supervisor Alan and asked if we might have a discount for the night where my friends bed was double booked, and she got her things thrown out, he got very aggressive and accused me of never staying in a hostel before saying that’s just what it is like for “travellers”. I said that wasn’t true and I’d stayed in this very hostel and come to the city often for my work, and asked if there were other avenues I could raise these concerns with then. He then baselessly accused me of “extortion” for asking for a discount for that night (given she paid full price for a night she ended up hardly being able to sleep in, due to his own team messing up.
L’hôtel bénéficie d’une bonne réputation, mais l’ambiance générale a clairement changé depuis le rachat du Mama Shelter situé en dessous et la création de nombreuses nouvelles chambres. Ne vous attendez pas à séjourner dans un cadre digne d’un château. Pendant le carnaval, les chambres étaient proposées à 150 € la nuit, et pourtant la direction n’a même pas engagé de femmes de ménage. Le nettoyage était assuré par des volontaires épuisés. Une situation aberran...
The hotel enjoys a good reputation, but the general atmosphere has clearly changed since the purchase of the Mama Shelter located below and the creation of many new rooms. do not expect to stay in a setting worthy of a castle. during the carnival, rooms were offered at 150 € a night, and yet the management did not even hire cleaning ladies. cleaning was provided by exhausted volunteers. an aberrant situation. i do not recommend !
I wanted to like this place based on the high reviews and having enjoyed other hostels in the past, but it is literally GROSS. When I first walked into my room, I was greeted by another person’s pile of clothes on the ground and their toothbrush on the windowsill. This person seems to be staying here a while, the place is run by a lot of fellow young people / volunteers. They are sweet people, but there’s no management. No set quiet hours, bathrooms are scattered, and seems there is no order...

The hostel is so beautiful, the castle is stunning and the facilities are incredible, especially for the £. It’s a super social atmosphere, which is really important for me as a solo traveller, lots of stuff going on and really good prices on some additional booking options like hang gliding. The staff were fantastic, special mention to Caio on reception for anll of his help, and Billie! Billie made my day every day, she was so funny and always there for anything you needed. This was such a beautiful hostel with a lot of space to chill. The breakfasts were fantastic (they serve eggs), the beds were comfortable and they offer free events like a bbq that was very nice. As someone that prefers a chill environment, this hostel was great for me.
We had such a fun time here the hostel is so big and amazing views! The breakfast and bbq is so delicious the best we have had! The staff are so friendly too especially Avril and Mohamed thank you so much! Abrigada❤️

This is by far the best hostel I’ve stayed in. There is something magical about this space, a real sense of community. At the same time, there are enough possibilities to have room for yourself and unwind. It is located in a picturesque place, and there are well-thought-through daily activities. My private room was spacious, clean and comfortable The team is so welcoming and kind. Special thanks to the manager Mohamed - exceptionally considerate and helpful. I will definitely come back!
Best hostel I have stayed at in South America. Great activities and events. Staff were really friendly, especially Caio and Anas ( who might beat you at football). Highly recommend!!

This might be my favourite hostel I have ever stayed at. The pool and breakfast are excellent. Very social and friendly crowd. The building is incredibly beautiful and the historic details are well preserved, which creates a great atmosphere. Unusually comfortable beds, and privacy curtains. Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly reccomend

Beautiful hostel with gorgeous views, great breakfast and equipment. Its a verry big hostel with many people so dont expect intimate cozy vibes. Caio at the reception was really nice, but sometimes the staff didn’t seem so organised because if the size of the hostel. They have a free churrasco every sunday and pretty cheap drinks at the bar.
L’endroit est vraiment très cool, très grand il y a beaucoup d’espaces différents. C’est vraiment très agréable. L’eau des douches était très tiède. L’auberge est vraiment trop loin du centre = uber uber. donc c’est assez embêtant…. Perso si vous êtes voyage solo dans la trentaine et que vous souhaitez rencontrer du monde, cela n’est pas super facile car il y a beaucoup de groupes qui voyagent ensemble… je recommande quand même le lieu pour les activités et si quelq...
The place is really very cool, very big there are many different spaces. It's really very nice. The water from the showers was very warm. The hostel is really too far from the center = uber uber. so it's quite annoying.... But if you are traveling solo in your thirties and want to meet people, it's not super easy because there are many groups that travel together... I still recommend the place for activities and if a few days in Santa Teresa

Follow your gut and come to this hostel! The castle (!!!) is massive and incredibly beautiful, with one room more impressive than the other, views on Christ the redeemer. Plus another casa downstairs with a gym, pool and ping pong tables. Great pool. Staff is the best, incredibly helpful and fun, you become friends with them quickly. Pablo and Leonardo were fantastic at the reception, take you on tours and there to answer every question. Go to the roof top terrace for a one of a kind view.
I had an amazing stay at this hostel, one of the most secure and welcoming place to be. The rooms are good, the daily activities organised by the event team at the hostel, really makes it more enjoyable. I will come back !!
