Vlora Backpackers Hostel Seaside

Hosts were lovely, helpful with bus transport, let us borrow snorkels free of charge and free omelette for breakfast was delicious. One shared indoor bathroom for everyone staying - 2 outside though they weren’t that nice and water was cold in all. Were told by other travellers that there were bedbugs in the room we were in. Location wasn’t bad - short walk to main beach and grocery stores, further to cliff beach.

Unfortunately I was bitten by bedbugs severely. For 2 days my eye was swollen until I got medications, expensive ones I must add. Bedbugs are in the room close to the kitchen, not others. Beware of that hostel and in general that it might happen anywhere. Scientific fact: bedbugs prefer girls blood and not men, so some men can be clueless there are bugs!

The place lacks cleaning, bed sheets obviously not changed before people. Bedding / pillow smelled like urine… Edit: also picked up a few hitchhikers (can pinpoint this hostel as I got bitten for the first time there). I've been trying to get rid of bedbugs since... :(

BEDBUGS!!! Tons of them!! Do not stay here, super gross and I was told after the fact that the owner knew about them and didn’t do anything other than just change the sheets.

maybe the worst hostel I've ever stayed at. everything is superrundown and dirty and the hosts didn't handle a bedbug situation well. dogs and their hair everywhere. Aircon wasn't available in a 8 bed dorm and window not really good to open due to wind, street dog's and construction site next to the hostel. left after one night due to the bedbugs and didn't get my agreed refund. overall an unpleasant situation.

I spent three nights in their private room during which I got about thirty bed bug bites. It's not possible I got the bites from another place. For this reason I gave them a low review on booking. The owners commented on my review that I had brought the bed bugs with me from another hostel, that I had washed all my clothes and that my body was full of scratches upon arrival. I didn't stay at another hostel prior to Vlora Backpackers, I never washed any of my clothes at Vlora Backpackers. And my body certainly wasn't full of scratches when I arrived at Vlora Backpackers. The owners will put on a big fake friendly smile but will blatantly lie about you as an attempt to save their business' reputation. I gave 4/10 on booking for the bed bugs but am now giving 1/5 stars for their lack of integrity.
