+ Beds were decent

- Not allowed to use bathrooms after checkout nor kitchen for very basics while waiting for their shuttle that never showed up. Had to get a taxi and then a bus to my destination. Very frustrating

- People working here are very rude. When we arrived the online welcome word was "passport". When we left after 6 days no goodbye. Onle complaining that left 11:05

+ A.C Breakfast

- Paper thin walls -poor soundproofing, we had to listen to a couple arguing all evening for three nights. Bleach stains all over my clothes after Laundry. Several items ruined.

+ Quite a chilled place - no loud music and the staff were really friendly

- The room was unbearably hot. To the point where I had to leave the room and sleep outside. Even with fans it was so uncomfortable. Impossible to sleep.

+ De mevrouw die het ontbijt klaar maakte was erg vriendelijk.

- Wat was dit een verschrikking! Vieze bedden, overal pissebedden, een pisstraal uit de douche, alleen een ventilator die enorm veel herrie maakte, water waar je voor moest betalen en wat warm was, zeer onvriendelijke nachtbewaker en zodra je iets in de koelkast legde was het binnen een uur eruit gestolen.

+ Its hard to come up with something, maybe that it is pleasant to sit outside?

- Well, when we arrived the room smelled like the indoor pool, it was so humid, that they could at least turn on the fan since AC is for a surcharge. I think I made it quite clear that we don't understand much Spanish, they didn't try to explain anything in English, well we came for breakfast and the lady said that it was too late that is until 10, so I stayed there until she checked the time and it was 9:55, so then she looked me again and said until 9:30:-) so we were without breakfast which was included, I would understand if I saw she has a lot to do, but I can't say that. Anyway, we had some of our food in the fridge with our names on it…someone ate it anyway. Refilling water here is also for a charge so once we took it and it tasted like a puddle from the street, so at least we watered the plants with it:-) And our water from the fridge was also gone… water was a problem in general, we had a room with a private bathroom unfornutelly the water was not running, so to use the toilet we had to run down to another floor. Well, it's cheap but for the same price, you can do better in Leon, even closer to the center.

+ The place was very clean and quiet, nice staff and good location.

+ Breakfast of coffee, eggs, rice and beans. 3 of the 5 staff we interacted with were nice and very helpful, this includes both men working the night shift. I think the majority of the good reviews for this place are for the private rooms. We stayed in the DORM so read this before booking a dorm!

- This is the worst place we’ve stayed after 8 months in Latin America. Insanely hot in the dorm rooms. Not enough fans and people would not share. Can’t open windows because it has no mosquito nets. Room 2 becomes an oven at night. People were sleeping in the common area because it was so hot in the room. WiFi didn’t work for half our stay. There were 2 much older men (70+ years) staying in the dorms long-term. Made for a non-social environment. Everyone else agreed the man in our dorm was rude/creepy. They should consider an age limit on dorms. Lots of other smaller complaints: only 3 bathrooms (sinks, showers inside) so there’s always a wait, two of the showers are just open pipes, the bunk beds creak and sway with every motion, not enough lockers in dorms, not enough plugs in the room so needed to charge phones outside. There is a rule that you cannot take a fan from the room to use in the common area during the day. This rule is not posted anywhere. It was 37 degrees out and the staff unplugged and took the fan with no explanation while we were using it (I went to the bathroom for a minute, then it was gone). When we asked why at the front desk, there was no reason other than “would it be a problem if we let everyone take the fans from the room?”. I said “no, not if we return them when done.” She just rolled her eyes at me. There were 5 unused fans in the dorm at that time. For the rest of our stay the two women involved seemed to hate us and were constantly rude towards us and giving us mean glares. I will never understand why we couldn’t use one and were treated with such disgust. All in all a very bad stay and we would suggest everyone to go somewhere else.

+ The bedrooms were clean

- We booked a private double room and when we arrived we were told it was given to someone else. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, all you feel are springs. The air-con doesn’t work properly and makes loud noises during the night. There was a cockroach in our room. The reception that speaks English is very rude and didn’t apologise for the mistake make with our room booking. I’m not sure if the filtered water is actually filtered as we both got sick.

+ Saubere und gut geführte Unterkunft.

+ Bien placé entre le terminal de bus et le centre ville. La cuisine commune est bien équipée et le patio est sympa. Attention il fait chaud à Léon, les chambres avec clim sont du coup plus confortables. Les dortoirs donnent sur la rue donc il y a du bruit.

+ Hostal El Jardin was beautiful and peaceful - it didn’t have the party vibe that Bigfoot/ViaVia did but instead had a relaxed atmosphere with a nice communal area. It was clean and the staff were lovely and helpful.

+ La cocina bien equipada y abierta, las chicas que trabajan por las mañanas super amables, el desayuno rico

- el chico de la recepción estaba siempre de mal humor, no siquiera te saludaba; en el dormitorio hacia mucho calor

+ Just the setting. Room was nice. AC is a nice little luxury once in a while. Short walk to the coast and bus stop.

+ Sehr zentral, schönes Zimmer im OG Klimaanlage super und leise. Matratzen für uns perfekt (etwas fester). Sehr saubere Unterkunft . Netter Garten. Kleine Shops nebenan. Restaurants in der Nähe. Shuttles kann man in der Unterkunft buchen

- Das Frühstück könnte ein wenig Obst enthalten:)
