Salerno Experience Hostel

Reception was friendly upon arrival. Great location and really cool building to have a hostel in. Of our 3 night booking, we ended up leaving before night 1 because as we were falling asleep we saw a BED BUG. The reception was good about this, offering to change our room, but instead we received a refund and found a new place to stay. They mentioned they don’t have this problem and it was likely brought in by a traveller, but regardless, didn’t feel comfortable staying here.

The location. Nothing else. PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE, FOR YOUR SAFETY On the day of my checkout, due to a police inspection, the owners didn't let me leave the hostel (they literally said "we won't open the door") but made me and all other guests hide in a room in the basement where one of them lives (see picture). They woke up guests and made them hide there, refusing to open the door to the policemen. The reason was the place had been shut down four days earlier, so they were illegally open. Fortunately, police forced them to open the doors after 50 minutes, since they had been alerted they were keeping guests captive. Now I see them commenting these are all fake news (expect them to do so in this comment as well). There was a police raid as a consequence. Reasons why it was shut down: they were hosting 66 people while allowed a maximum of 24, they didn't pass hygiene checks due to presence of bedbugs and poor state of the fridge. Two days before the raid, they kicked me out at 10 am due to "disinfection, everyone should do early check-out". They were actually having a police inspection (because they were supposedly shut down), so they took our stuff from the rooms. In addition, the showers were stuffy, full of fungus and the doors were literally coming down. You can see how rusty the hinges were. The one "good shower" left didn't have a proper handle attached The rooms were noisy, a machine was on all night long. Guests also didn't observe common sense rules in a hostel, like not pointing the flashlight to people's faces and not taking loudly during sleep hours

Personnel très agréable et accueillant, toujours à l'écoute. Ambiance conviviale. Sanitaire et chambres propres Nous avons trouvé beaucoup de punaises de lit et c'est un peu juste niveau sanitaire et toilettes

La cortesia dello staff e la posizione... tutto il resto è stato infernale Tutto il resto. Dovrebbero seriamente chiudere per diversi giorni ed effettuare una pesante disinfestazione dalle cimici da letto. Mi dispiace, ma è assolutamente da evitare

Beautiful old building, lovely staff will help you with anything, lovely courtyard out back, amazing location. It is an old building and they clearly struggle to maintain some bits all the time - it needs a bit of work in places e.g. shaky beds, and a proper deep clean of showers would be nice as well as the daily surface cleans. Even with all that I had a really lovely time, the owner was so kind, but unfortunately I do need to mention that I found a bedbug on me on the last night.

Percevejos nas camas!!! Fiquei cheio de picadas pelo corpo, banheiros muito fedidos (limpeza diária é apenas superficial), funcionários que falam em árabe muito alto, banheiro fedido a Mofo e xixi, chuveiros sem privacidade, a porta não fechava totalmente. Lockers apenas para pequenos itens. Localização é boa para visitar Salerno. Para visitar Amalfi/Positano de barco ou ônibus, a localização é ruim.

Para visitar o centro histórico de salerno, a localização é boa. Mas para ir para Amalfi/Positano, chegar ou sair de trem/ônibus, a localização é ruim. O prédio é bonito, antigo. BED BUGS!!!!!!!!, estou cheio de picadas pelo corpo!!!!! Banheiro podre de fedido, chuveiros que as portas não fecham totalmente e podem te ver pelado. Cozinha grudenta de sujeira, funcionários que falam gritando em árabe, fui usar a máquina de lavar e além dela feder a mofo, era a máquina mais nojenta que eu já vi na vida, tinha gosma preta dentro, por nunca terem limpado a borracha de vedação. Eu mostrei para eles, eles falaram que toda semana passam produto...Banheiros e chuveiros extremamente fedidos. Limpados apenas superficialmente.

Very shady place, stay away. Beds are dirty, and have bed bugs (i suppose based on itching i got from sleeping there) showers have no locks and no proper doors and look like they're never washed. My room mate said (didn'see it myself ) he was threated with violence by the receptionist (who was partying and drinking with everyone in the kitchen) So he "escaped" next morning. There were strange people hanging around.

Es un hostel súper lindo en un edificio viejo pero bien cuidado. Estaba todo muy limpio y el personal fue muy amable. Está muy bien ubicado y la habitación era amplia A mi hermana le picaron las chinches. Avisamos cuando nos fuimos y el chico se preocupó y nos dió una crema para las picaduras

La atencion por parte del personal muy buena, los chicos son muy amables y tienen una buena energia que es clave para un hostel No tuve una b7ena experiencia a nivel instalaciones ya que habian chinches en la cama y al dia siguiente me levante con muchas picaduras y picazon por lo que me toco medicarme, los banos no estaban limpios. Deben desinfectar el lugar

We stayed 1 night there and realised it was enough. The stuff was helpful and the location was good but besides that there was not much positive about it. The beds are too small and the matrasse was probaly from ancient times. The beds were loud, had no security at the upper part - so you easily can fall down. No lights, no chargers at the beds, no ladder at the bed. The worst thing was the bed bugs. My girlfriend got more then 15 bites after just one night. Completely disgusting. Would recommend you not to stay there.

This is by far the worst hostel I have ever been to. It's insanely filthy and after just a single night there I had roughly 120 bites of bedbugs. I would highly advise everybody to stay as far away from this place as possible.

El alojamento está super bien ubicado y el personal muy simpático. Especialmente los hermanos venezolanos que estaban allí como voluntarios. A pesar de que hacían limpieza todos los días, hay chinches en las camas y me picaron todas las noches, no solo a mí sino a otros huéspedes. Tuve que ir al médico porque soy alérgica y terminé con la cara y otras partes del cuerpo super inflamadas.

É um ótimo custo benefício na região da costa amalfitana e é só pegar um ônibus que vc vai pra todos os lados na região Eu saí com 50 PICADAS DE BAD BUGS ( Percevejos), sério ! Quase atrapalhou minha viagem! Fiquei cheio de hematomas , muitos mesmo! Cuidado! Eu até vi o pessoal sempre limpando o hostel, mais o problema está nos colchões , uma simples troca de lençol não resolve!

Nothing, the property is mouldy and dirty. The worst hostel I’ve ever stayed. Dirty and disgusting. Got a lot of bites from bed bugs which a lot of customers said the same here. Please read the reviews before staying.

Nothing I got biten by bed bugs. No help from the owners whatsoever who said it was allergies
