WORNING: read the rest.It's a rainy Hong Kong, we're in a spy movie, and to tell the truth, we really are on the set of a film noir, a very beautiful one, actually. The title is Chunking Express, by the famous director Won Kar Wai. Which makes us live this whole experience with just the right amount of poetry. Flashforward: We escape the hotel a day before checkout. Incipit: It's a rainy day in Hong Kong, we're in a spy movie. We enter a picturesque complex, where small businesses flourish, as does the mold on the walls. We take an eerie elevator and arrive in the lobby. A pungent cigarette smell and white neon lights greet us. The receptionist greets us with a smile; she must be used to Europeans as shocked and lost as we are. We arrive in the room. It was small, very small, we already knew that. What we didn't know was that it would also be dirty, very dirty. Small traces of past guests remain on the white sheets, resisting washing. The shower is one with the toilet, overlooking it, so you can shower and poop at the same time, and that's great, but it's less great having to be careful not to wet the toilet paper. Small insects crawl across the floor and mattress; let's hope they're not bedbugs. We Googled it, they are not. The view is breathtaking: in the small window of the building across from us, a naked man shows us portions of his hard-working body. We try to get out as soon as possible, but the creepy elevator seems determined to keep us inside this putrid labyrinth. We're forced to go down the stairs, and it's like diving into a sixteen-story ashtray. The walls are decorated with abstract sketches, but at the same time very concrete, almost human. We're outside, we're alive.

Service is great, staff is cooperative, possible bedbugs, no smell in the room.

Dirty and uncomfortable. Only good thing is that I did not get any bedbugs (so far). There was hair on the bed sheets and continued to be no matter how many times we asked them to change. I don’t think they clean the sheets at all here.

The staff member was nice. AVOID ALL COST, reviews are most likely fake. Check google reviews and reddit. If you want to bring home some pests.. I mean pets, the best place to go. The place is infested with cockroaches, not just a couple but on floor 6 a whole nation of pests on the walls , hygiene safety is a legend there.. I mean it is just in legends . Sheets have stains which is ok, you can see they were washed. However uppn checking my bed for bedbug traces, 2 beautiful piece of cockroach was saying hi to me. The mansion this hostel is "famous" around hong kongers as shadiest place.. unfortunately heard this too late.
