Ekonomy Haeundae Hostel

The room appears clean but I found 1 bed bug on the wall at 8:45 in the morning on 11/11/23. I raised it with the manager/owner. He said maybe because he did a deep clean yesterday and that bed bug is a South Korean social issue. He offered to move my mattress down. I refused because the bug fell to the lower bunk while walking on the wall. Although the name of the hostel on bookings states O Guest in Haeundae, the name on the building is O Guest & mini hotels with the light on the mini hotel name section of the building sign turned off. Due to naming inconsistent coupled with Naver map unreliability, I walked past the hotel and walked around in circles for 20 minutes almost missing 9pm check in time. The owner/manager waited for me to find it after multiple messages on bookings which did not clarify real name on his part. I raised the inconsistency in name with the manager/owner but was told nobody else has had a problem with identifying the building in the last 7 years since he has been there. Although right in the centre of Haeundae, close to the beach and the night markets, the room which I stayed 204, has little or no sound proof. You could hear pedestrians and cars inside the room. The noise outside didn’t settle down until around midnight and started again at 6:47 am. While at other hostels without lift in Seoul and Jeju, check in desk is on the ground floor so the staff could help with your bags to the top floor, this hostel is also without lift but reception in on the 1st floor so you will need to carry your bags up 1 flight of stairs without help.
