Mambo Tango Youth Hostel

The area did not feel safe. It was very expensive for the quality of the rooms. You have little to no privacy including when going to the bathroom or clean places to put your things while brushing your teeth or showering (dorm room). Metal lockers under beds are your only option or a really smelly, moldy locked room in the basement. It takes forever to charge devices using the outlets. The common area in the basement smells and the pillows on the chairs are dirty. It is beside a very loud club that plays music Thursday, Friday, Saturday night. I feel bad for leaving a poor review but at the same time it shouldnt have cost that much.

I booked 2 nights to stay at mambo tango, and decided on it because of its apparent good reviews. However, I was greeted by less then friendly staff member (which isnt always a reflection on the hostel), but more importantly a blood stained, dirty bed. during the night I believe I was bitten continually by bed bugs and was forced to leave a day early. I do not reccomend at all. Location is good and breakfast was as expected. But I just couldn't stay there with the level of cleanliness. It may have been a one off and I'm fully aware of this. But, if you only go to a hostel to sleep and you can't even do that. You have a problem. Also, in regards to the staff member. Only one out of the two I met seemed very bored and disinterested in their job. The other was very nice and chatty.

Bedbugs. Nice, central location and good facilities. Lockers provided.
