This place is a decent hostel, I have seen so much reviews of bed bugs but so far I don't see any and I had good sleep, comfort 😊 The only issue is the just the water in the showers, there is only hot 🥵 and cold 🥶 and hoping the cleaning service is easier to get instead of just filling out form. But overall, it great.

No bed bugs, as other people say. At least in my room. Room reeked of urine, the sheets were full with all kinds of bodily fluids. Cleaning is not thorough, the dust in all the small corners shows. Shower is bad, no water pressure and only two types of temperature: boiling hot or completely cold. Reasonable price though.

Being a regular customer, having awful experience this year. BED BUGS, delayed response from customer care, bad washroom hygiene. Not sure what happened to a&o hackerbrucke :(

Absolute poo hole We had to change rooms multiple times, the first time because my partner was allocated a double bed to share with a stranger in a dorm. The second time because the room was infested with bed bugs I have bites all over my body and am itchy for more than one week. When I lifted the mattress the bugs were running everywhere. When we told the staff they moved us but didn't tell anyone else in the room. We had to wash all our clothes on hot and because of this a few items shrunk. I only travel with 40l so it was most of my wardrobe ruined. We paid for a 4bed dorm and had to go to 8beds and weren't refunded any of the difference. The room reeked of sewage and we had to leave the bathroom fan on all the time with the door closed otherwise the whole place stank like poo. We stayed for over a week as we just entered on a work/holiday visa and we're trying to find a job so the whole experience was way more stressful and expensive. The bathrooms are all dirty and the diors dont clised properly so its not even secure. Iften members of staff eiuld enter the room unannounced, say nothing look atound and leave. Do not go here you will leave itchy, with only half a wardobe and smelling like poo. The only good thing is I noticed how patient the staff are with all the customers all the time and they should be praised for that.

Bed full of bed bugs, crowded, dirty and noisy at night. Wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We stayed in this hostel two times (three nights in total) within a week. First time we stayed there were bedbugs in the first room we were given, so be careful... We reported this and got a new room + some beverages and the staff was very helpful with this. Overall staff was friendly and helpful. Overall cleanliness wasn't that good, for example the guest kitchen was lacking cleanliness + there wasn't enough cutlery and no kettle. On the last day the fridge had just disappeared (??) without any warning and our breakfast was therefore spoiled. There were also problems with the luggage room since it was overpacked + smelly. The rooms were too hot since there wasn't any ac.

Quite expensive, for what it is, and you got the risk to take bed bugs home. Our Room was in bad condition. My bed had no light or power surveillance.

I stayed here for 2 nights and I wouldn't hesitate saying that this was the worst A&O hostel I ever stayed. Lots of bed bugs because of which I had to rush to the doctor immediately after reaching Frankfurt. I agree with the fact that this hostel is located in the Heart of the city Munich and it has better transportation facility due to location advantage. But I'm sure nobody would want to go back with red rashes all over the body, to their city after an amazing holiday. The Hostel staff were also rude to us and they didn't respond to us on time. The pillow, bedsheets and bedspread were obviously included in the Hostel tariff price but they were very untidy with patchy stains.

This hostel was a horror. No control, so, random people, clearly not paying customers, could stay in the room with little assistance. It was dirty and run down, hence the bed bugs and skeletons of bed bugs that littered the bed frame( 2 out of the 4 rooms I had). Black moldy showers (3 of 4). Showerheads falling off. Multiple bed lights and outlets didn't work. Even when going to reception to look in past rooms for a lost item, discovered the rooms from the night before with the bed bugs weren't even blocked off. They didn't even know what rooms those were. Very poorly managed and outdated. I've stayed in hostels all over the world. I'm laid back and not picky. I wouldn't stay here again if you paid me.

The stay was so poor. There were bedbugs in my bed and when I complained I was shifted to another room ,where I learned other people were shifted too because of the same problem 😣 The kitchen had drunk men all the time who would stare all the time you're there And nothing was done about it too

Most disgusting hostel you can ever check in in Europe, will strictly say not to go for this hostal the beds are all full with bedbugs, room service never cleans your room and if I should mention the staff they are not at all cooperative. But ya they are very punctual in collecting the money. The best part comes now which is there guest kitchen where you can't even think of cooking. So if you wish to spend a worst weekend of your life you should surely check in this hostal.

Honestly, dont come here. The hostel has huge hygiene and health problems, bed bugs literally everywhere.

I stayed here for three nights in a six bed female only dorm. On the first night I got bitten over ten times by bed bugs despite using my own sleeping bag. I changed rooms during the night and the receptionist did not seem surprised as to my complaint. He said they had a 'cool spray' for the itching but couldn't find it and to ask for in during the day. The new bed in the new room I swapped to did not have bed bugs and neither did the new sheets given to me. The next day after waiting for quite a while in the queue at reception, I asked for the spray, and again they could not find it, however obliged me with a two night refund. They refused my request for a refund for the hydrocortisone cream required for the bites. If you are attracted by the low price of the hostel, be aware it may come with a side of bed bugs and long queue at reception.

UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN! We stayed for 3 nights this week with a school group of 51 pupils aged 11-14 and 6 staff members. These are just a few of the atrocities we had to endure: • on arrival had to wait right next to a very busy main road with the whole group and luggage for about an hour before the hostel managed to check us in and issue our room keys. • One of the ovens in the kitchen was faulty, which resulted in the whole group having to travel to a different A&O branch for dinner every night, an extra hour on public transport with a disabled boy who has trouble walking longer distances. Additional taxi costs for him 15-20€ per day. • Twice NONE of the children’s room keys worked on return to the hostel. In both cases we had to wait 45-60 minutes for the problem to be fixed, with 51 exhausted children, way past their bed time sitting in a narrow overheated corridor (day 1) and (again) right next to the busy main road (day 2). We were not the only guests with this problem. • one morning a (seemingly) homeless person was sleeping in the lobby, undisturbed by staff until the time our children started to arrive as we had told them to assemble there before breakfast. • One night 2 dodgy looking „security staff“ knocked on 2 of our children’s rooms‘ doors (without checking with us) as they had apparently been spotted on the balconies. We were told that balconies aren’t to be entered, nobody had informed us about this before. It was all very strange as those „security guards“ were later seen guarding the doors downstairs, this was the last day/night and we hadn’t seen any security presence before. • Last day. Checkout at 10am, but coach to the airport wasn’t before 4:30pm, so we arranged for our luggage to be stored at the hostel to take the children into Munich city center. On arrival we had handed all the children‘s passports over to a A&O staff member for them to be stored in their safe. As a sign on the luggage room advised not to leave any valuables, I asked the staff member at reception if I could put my laptop in said safe as well. When I returned to reception 5 minutes later to check something else, I noticed the safe door standing open. I could actually see our pile of passports. I pointed this out to staff and was told that they had instructions to leave the safe door open (!!!), they assured us it was perfectly safe (with anybody able to walk in from the street and straight on behind the reception desk, which by the way we found unstaffed for periods of 15-20 minutes on more than one occasion). We chose to carry laptop and passports around Munich instead of leaving them at the hostel. Lastly, a friendly American teacher, who was also waiting for ages to be served after his group of children were locked out of their room, told us this funny story: 4-5 children of his group woke up one morning to find a stranger, a grownup man, in their room. He had apparently arrived late at night and was booked onto the children’s room by mistake. No words. There is alcohol being consumed right in the reception area (obviously fine for normal guest), in addition to this our pupils have unfortunately also had to witness illegal drugs being exchanged/consumed by some of the guests. It might be an „ok“, cheap place for backpackers (although I have read several reviews mentioning bedbugs on here), not ideal for families and definitely not for school groups though - dangerous and absolutely unacceptable. I should mention that most staff members were very friendly/understanding and tried to help with all the issues as best as they could, we just felt like they were unable to cope with everything that was going on in the hostel. I personally think the problem most likely lies with the management, which at the time of our departure was unfortunately unavailable for a discussion. One positive was the food at breakfast and dinner, which was quite nice and there was plenty of choice.

DO NOT STAY HERE! <br/>A large group of us stayed here for 1 night, and all 3 rooms had bed bugs. I saw a bed bug crawling on my suitcase in the morning the next day, I was lucky to not get bitten but everyone else has come up with huge welts. We showed reception the photo of the bed bug on my suitcase along with a dead bed bug in a tissue and they didn’t care, or seem phased at all obviously used to it.

I've been at this hostel with my school as a part of our Germany trip 1 week ago. First I will say positive stuff then get on on bad stuff. Price is as far as I know very cheap so that is plus if you are short on budget or travelling with a large group or family. Wi-Fi works perfect, signal reaches far and even when many people are connected speed is still fast. The food is really good and you can eat as much as you want and they even serve coffee as a part of meal while at some other hostels coffee wasn't served as a part of the meal meaning you had to go to the vending machine to buy it. The hostel is overall clean and I haven't occured bed bug problem some other people mentioned. Now about bad stuff ; The room I was in was 021 is a room of 3 bunk beds. Mattreses were extremely hard that I got back pain the day after. Pillows are really huge but very thin so you may get neck pain after. The mattres is also covered in some brown almost like plastic fabric (I think it is because of bed bugs problem) so that may be a problem if it is very hot during the night. The door of the balcony was stuck so we had to go through the window to go out on balcony. The rooms don't have closets to put your clothes but that wasn't problem for me since i didn't stay that long there. Now about staff : The staff were really unprofessional and not organised. We had a problem with a dinner for 2 days because owen got broken so we had an improvised dinner very late. We thought that dinner problem would only be for one day, but the second day when we came back we found out that owen is still broken. That wouldn't be that big problem if staff called our professors to say that owen is still broken so dinner is not made. Professors were furious but in the end we got our improvised dinner which was really delicious at least. Overall i recommend this hostel only if you are low on budget, travelling in large group or only staying for a short time.

I went here for a graduation trip with my class when we first entered the rooms we saw that our door handle was broken, the beds were horrible, the walls were not finished being renovated, the balcony and floors were dirty and we also found gum from the previous people who stayed there. The employees never clean the rooms , there are bugs walking everywhere in our room and after the trip me and my whole class were bitten by bugs I went to the doctor to find out that it was either fleas or bedbugs please don't ever come here I'm warning you.

Staff was rude when we came. Bedrooms were a disgrace: bedsheets and beds were filled with bed bugs, blood on the walls, floor was absolutely disgusting, not to mention the bathroom that was a disgrace as well. The breakfast was 7 € and very often there was a lack of food. The only good thing was the location.

The location is not the best, the people are definetly not a great company and even though it just costed us 12 € for one night (school trip) we would've expected the room to be decently hygenic but they were NOT. There were bed bugs EVERYWHERE. When we told the guy at the reception he just said that he knows they have a bed bug problem but not really did anything about it ! DEFINETLY not a fan of this hostel, wouldn't at all recommend !!!

We were 4 people in one room and payed extra for the extra 2 beds. We all came back home with insect bites all over arms and feet, itchy over one week and the marks are still obvious(100% bed bugs). They had no sheets on the beds for us and we had to really beg for some, it was really cold because the balcony door was broken and wind was blowing inside and the light was darker than a prison cell. The walls were very pale and there was dust and who knows what in every corner. Never ever ever again.

While the Hostel was well priced and in a great location, there were bed bugs. They moved us to another room so at least that was nice, but beyond that there was no compensation. Also we later found out that new people staying at the Hostel were put into the same room we were moved out of that night.

If you can afford to give some blood to many agressive bedbugs, and if you are price sensitive or backpacker with limited travel fund, the place is not far from the center, you may compare it with bugsfree places.

If I could give it zero stars I would, BED BUGS EVERYWHERE! Literally, we walked in the room and I saw two on the wall, i smushed them with my shoe and they were so blood they MUST have bitten someone the night before. As we were deciding what to do (where else to stay instead) we saw one crawl across someone’s pillow and we left immediately. I would pay ten times the price to not have bed bugs, that is an absolute deal breaker and it should be for everyone else as well. When we told the front desk, the girl was not surprised, they obviously get complaints about bed bugs all the time. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here, you’ll regret it and it’ll ruin your trip if you get bed bugs, trust me.

Bed bugs in all the rooms. We found bedbugs in our beds all the beds in the room. We complained to the staff and they just gave us new bed sheets and change our rooms. Went to the new room, still had bedbugs. Complained again and the staff did not give a solution. We just stayed in the lobby without sleeping.

worst experience ever. Got charged 75 euro, found bedbugs in my room, got changed, bedbugs again in my new room, try to get my money back and fat guy from reception says they cant. Gives me some special sheets and says he is gonna wash my clothes. F*ing waste of money. Rooms were 415 and 119. Will be making a claim with my bank to get my money back. Stay away, sleep on the steets, its a lot cleaner than this bedbug infested hostel.

Horrible place, don't ruin your trip by staying here! BED BUGS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!! The hostel is huge, no one helps you find anything. The place is dirty, the rooms smell, if you come for Oktoberfest is not cheap, I was charged 90€ per night. The staff was not friendly, I arrived at 11 am and asked If could use the washroom and they said it wasn't possible until 3pm. Our bathroom in the 6 bed dorm hasn't been cleaned in 3 days so far, toilet paper was not restocked. Honestly after 13 years of constant travelling this place is the worst hostel I've stayed in the world. Words can't describe how upset I feel about the amount of money they charged me for the service received. ******** UPDATE ********** I went to the reception to inform them about the bed bugs, and they where say no more, and handed me a lotion for the bites. The girl at the reception told me that this problem is been going on for more than 6 months now and the owners don't care about it and will not take measures about it. Unbelievable...

Don't ruin your trip, stay somewhere else. The place is HUGE and seems like a maze once inside. There are more than 600 beds in total for sure. At first glance it looks okay: friendly staff, a bar, luggage storage for free and friendly posters. I stayed here for Oktoberfest. Paid for a 6 bed dorm but was placed into one with 8 beds. Very small, poorly lit and not nearly enough power outlets (2). The place didn't seem awfully clean, but not particularly dirty either. Then came the bedbugs. SO. MANY. BEDBUGS. My God, the infestation level was just ridiculous, you could see the damn critters crawling on the wall in plain sight. I understand any hostel can get them, but how they deal with the problem is what's important. Clearly they had not dealt with this at all for a long time. I went to reception in the middle of the night (3am) and they gave me a lotion for the bites, cornbags to wash my clothes in, money for the laundry (not enough), and special sheets to cover the mattress that supposedly repel the bugs. But they refused to let me change rooms. They say it's policy, to avoid spreading them. Initially they seemed to care, but again, the level of infestation shows otherwise. The next day I wasted half of the day waiting for everything to wash and dry before switching to another hostel. As you can imagine, in the middle of Oktoberfest this was difficult and expensive. Spare yourselves the grief.

There were bedbugs in the bed. Hostel policy: they did not even changed the rooms and not even gave me back the money for the night that I had not spend yet. I do not recommend this place, worst experience for me with more than 20 bedbugs bites in my arms and legs, and no bed to lay down at the last night.

This place is the worst hostel I've stayed at. Its barely okay, being a step above crackheads and bedbugs. However the place is loud and unpleasant, staff are rude and unfriendly and the rooms/bathrooms are dirty. In fact, I notice a previous guest had picked their nose and stuck it to the wall above my bed. I wish i could make that up. I doubt these rooms had been properly cleaned since they were built.
