Great customer service from staff particularly, Stefany and Alessia. They have helped me tremendously with settling in, answering all my questions thoroughly with patience and even photocopying a special piece of paperwork for me. Breakfast was narrow in range but consistently fresh and generous. They have renovated rooms, ventilated but small shower spaces, and comfortable beds (no bed bugs) to sleep in. If you are sensitive to street noise on Friday and Saturday nights, get free earbuds at the desk or request a quieter room from reception (they are the loveliest!) Yes, there is homelessness in the location but this is Downtown and it is not the hostel's fault for having this presence. You will not regret this hostel!

Granville street is very sketchy with lots of open drug use and people living on the sidewalks outside the hostel door. We were in a 6 bed dorm room. The photo on the hostels website of the dorm room is deceiving. This is the most crowded dorm room I have ever been in..... and I have stayed in more dorm rooms then most travelers. For example, only 1 person could be standing beside their bed at a time because the bunkbeds are so close together....although there is a small space at the window end of the room as well as at the door end of the room, where 2 people can stand; your backpack has to be either on your bed (not a good option if you are concerned about bedbugs), or in your locker.... there is absolutely no room for it to be on the floor beside your bed without everyone having to walk over it as there is no room to walk around it. The air conditioning was not working properly. Must bring your own lock.

I paid almost 90USD per night for a dorm which was extremely cramped, I couldn't walk between the beds without brushing people's curtains and I'm a thin guy... I also woke up on the last day with some suspicious bug bites on my feet and legs which I didn't notice until later that day after checkout.The overall atmosphere was meh, there's not much opportunities to socialize if you're travelling alone besides a regular bar scene in the lobby. Asian dude at the desk was not very welcoming.

I had a great experience here. The breakfast was good, bagels, fruit, and eggs free. We also were allowed to take bagels with us so I often times packed some for lunch/snack. The rooms were hot, (I was in a 6 people room in the end of March) but each bed had a fan. The location was great, right in downtown. I had a ton of fun at singing BINGO night which is every Wednesday (my table won a pitcher of beer) and on trivia night where I won a hat. The hosted tours were free (just the bus tickets) Wednesday-Sunday. The only con I have for this place is that I think I got bit by mosquitos or bugs of some sort. The bumps don’t look like bed bugs, more like mosquito bites and itchy. Not sure what they are. I stayed 6 nights and came home with 10 bites.

Lovely friendly hostel (both staff and other guests), great location near to public transport Yaletown, Gastown, Chinatown and Waterfront. Daily activities and trips available. Included breakfast, bar/restaurant, happy hour 4-6pm - special offers on drinks/food. Food is served by friendly welcoming staff and reasonably priced. No complaints, no bedbugs as complained about on other reviews.

El personal fue amable pero poco útil. El lugar y las estaban muy sucios. Dejando de lado que tuvimos que comprar aromatizante para la habitación (cuyo olor era terrible) y arreglar el rechinido de la puerta del cuarto, tuvimos problemas con bedbugs. Al comentarlo en recepción, con fotos y sheds en mano, la persona que estaba en ese momento nos dijo que fuéramos a una farmacia y compraramos algo para las ronchas. Fue todo, no fue grosera pero no ofreció una solución y tuvimos que quedarnos ahí.

Do not stay here. I left as soon as possible due to bedbug infestation in my room. worst nights sleep ever. Staff were polite and breakfast in morning wasnt bad but not worth being eaten alive. I also found it cheaper to rent a room in a shared house

Poor people stay here. Noisey, unsafe, and has had bed bug problems in the past
