Unfortunately, we got bed bugs, the wifi wasn't working, and our room had terrible soundproofing so we struggled to sleep.

BED BUGS! I got plenty of bites there and this made me really stressed. Got all my clothes washed after this, this property doesn’t have dryer so I did laundry in another hotel. Better safe than sorry

Bedbugs and no wifi - wifi doesn’t work in the room and it is not good around the house. I ended up paying several time 13€ for eSIM data, and door lock did not work properly. :( I booked their biggest room (number 6). It is not a hostel room. There were bedbugs. I hope they will call pest control because I went through hell to make sure that I don’t bring bedbugs eggs to the next hotel I go and to my own home. It is very stressful. Also, they don’t have dryer in laundry and they do not accept catd payments for water, laundry, breakfast. (But it is standard in Fiji)

I stayed here for one night before flying to another pacific island, but it was exactly what I needed. The staff were incredibly kind and the room was comfortable. Air conditioning was great and I had NO issues with bed bugs. The property had some lizards and other bugs, but they were not a bother. Great value overall!

The accommodation is old and deteriorating. The washrooms/showers, sinks, and toilets facilities not kept up to a nice clean standard. Bedbugs in the bed I stayed in. Pool was ok, decking around the pool very old and unstable. The place needs a complete restoration.

I've had a great time while staying here the past 1,5 months! The people are incredibly nice and always willing to help. They helped me make a plan to go to the islands within my budget and it was amazing. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and they have great coffee. I would 100% come back here if I'm ever back in Nadi. Based on some other reviews I saw: I've stayed in 2 of the dormitories and haven't had any issues with bed bugs. The pool was closed for 2 days for maintenance, but other than that it has always looked clean and I haven't had any issues swimming in it. And I saw a comment about the air quality being bad and there being a lot of smoke, this only happens once. Bluewater can't help that somebody in the neighborhood burned some stuff. And I could smell the smoke all over Wailoaloa beach, so this would've also been a problem with any other places in the area. Overall I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to come to Fiji.

The place had air pollution whatever they were burning. Fire detector needs battery replacement and was making noise all night.All my life have never seen bed bugs let alone at such a place. There is no refund from this property and they dont care knowing you in transit ! No need for alarm to wake you up with bed bugs around !

The place has less depreciated due to lack of maintenance. Don't attempt to book this place ,there is bed bugs and to burn all my clothes. The management is aware of this and claim the owner is in New Zealand. The mattresses are torn with fleas where during the sun drying due to bugs the pets sleep on them.The showers drip with water and its not hot .No toiletries to use .Management should make a 2 Day closure for fumigation which includes the rats and cockroachs .Ministry of Health and Tourism should review this place .Use the pool at your own risk if you make a booking!

I rolled over in bed and saw bed bugs - when I told the staff, the way they responded I could tell this was not the first occurrence. They moved me to another room but struggled to sleep that night after reading other reviews which sounds like everywhere had bedbugs.

Stayed for one night january 2026, the bed bugs problem is not resolved. We saw live bed bugs in the bed.

I was bitten by bedbugs :( They showed up the night before I checked out.

Amazing experience, wonderful helpful staff gave recommendations and helped with bookings. (No problems with bed bugs as of Jan 2026)

There were bed bugs in the sofa at the living room.

Cet hotel est INFESTé DE PUNAISES DE LIT, le management le sait et ne fait rien. J'etais sur le point de dormir lorsqu'un couple partageant mon dortoir m'a reveillé en me montrant des punaises de lit sur les draps!! Nous avions eu 1 heure avant, un épisode d'une souris dans leur sac à dos. Par contre les punaises ce n'est pas admissible surtout que cela date de plusieurs années!! Nous avons dû partir après minuit à la recherche d'un autre hotel! Et nous avons payé le prix fort sans parler de tout nettoyer integralement ensuite : perte d argent, de temps et préjudice. Ensuite le remboursement a ete tres penible à obtenir, j'ai dû me déplacer 2 jours de suite et menacer de les dénoncer à la police touristique. Ces gens ne sont ni professionnels ni honnêtes! FUYEZ!

Don’t book here until the bed bug issue is resolved! The host and everyone working at the hostel are really nice, and helpful with everything. It’s quite well located and you can get picked up for activities. But there are definitely bed bugs my legs were covered in bites from them, it definitely ruins your travels when you come across this because you then have to wash everything and it’s not hygienic. I am aware it’s a hostel but being able to sleep without bed bugs is pretty basic. I still have nightmares about the bugs eating me. The only way to get ride of them is to throw out the mattresses, the sheets… and start again which is what they should do. The bed bug issue is a shame and ruins an otherwise cute hostel.

Das gesamte Hotel ist von Bettwanzen befallen!!! Ein absolutes NO-GO!!! Wir hatten leider einen Mittagsschlaf gemacht und wurden dabei wohl schon mehrfach gebissen. Die Bisse merkt man allerdings oft erst nach 1-2 Tagen. Als wir abends ins Bett gehen wollten, sahen wir die Bettwanzen überall und haben darauf samt einem anderen Gast aus dem gleichen Zimmer das Hotel sofort verlassen. Das Problem war ihnen offensichtlich bekannt und sie haben uns ein anderes Zimmer angeboten. Wenn man allerdings Bettwanzen in einem Zimmer hat, hat man sie zu 99% auch in den anderen, daher lehnten wir ab. Dieses Hotel gehört geschlossen und müsste von grundauf saniert werden, da diese Tiere auch in Möbeln nisten. Wir mussten all unsere Sachen reinigen und haben somit auch noch zusätzlich und einen ganzen Tag für Reinigung investieren müssen… vielen Dank für nichts…

I got really bad bed bug bites all over my body and face from this hostel. I am miserable and it has affected my trip to beautiful Fiji. Also, the pool was cloudy and there was no atmosphere in the hostel at all. Very disappointed.

*Bed Bugs* Staff were kind and helpful in booking day trips. There is a bed bug problem, we saw live bugs, marks of them on the sheets, and got bites. Overall it’s not the cleanest and the bathroom and shower facilities are lacking.

The staff were really kinda and very helpful. Although there is a bed bug problem at this place. We all left with bites. The outdoor area is nice but overall avoid the bedbugs.

There were bed bugs in my bed, I informed the reception about it and got a new room, but after me they put another person on that bed without taking care of the bugs. WiFi works very very bad. Be aware that there’s no kitchen, so you can’t prepare anything on your own, not even a tea or a coffee, or you can’t even get a bowl to eat musli at, since they have some shady contracts with restaurants next door so you have to go out and eat, there’s also a coffee place in the hostel but ofc they make pay for your coffee, since you can’t do it yourself in this place.

Das positive am Hotel ist das Personal. Wie überall in Fiji sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Auch der Garten ist ganz hübsch. Das Hotel an sich ist leider eine Katastrophe. Es ist alt, dreckig und voller Plunder. Aber gut. Richtig schlimm wurde es nachts, ich wachte auf um entdeckte Bettwanzen im Bett. Daraufhin bin ich abgereist. Leider absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Es waren Bettwanzen in meinem Bett sodass ich das Hotel verlassen habe. Insgesamt war es sehr schmutzig und herunter gekommen.

Big bedbug invasion! We were a group of 4 and all ended up with bites. It is extremely annoying and difficult to get rid of them so avoid at any cost even if you are just planning on staying one night. The hostel and staff were very nice so it is unfortunate to give them such a bad review.

The staff is super nice but the rooms are a bit rundown. And I also experienced the bed bugs. I thought it was an exaggeration of the other reviews but the bed bugs are still there. Also the lockers don’t work and the shower was a bit dirty.

Clear signs of bedbugs, a mouse ate some of my food. No possibility to store your bags on something, very small lockers, half of them broken. Dirty sheets, weird moldy smell. Dirty showers with broken drains, dirty pool. Room 7 felt like a prison cell. No kitchen for guests. Nice location in the heart of Wailoaloa though. The place feels like it has no soul, kinda strange. I would not come back despite it being very cheap.

Pedimos un reembolso y, después de 6 horas discutiendo, solo accedieron a devolvernos la mitad de una noche (porque decían que como habíamos dormido no podían devolvernos nada). Sin embargo, nunca recibimos ese dinero. Además, si no reservas sus excursiones (que venden al doble de precio), el trato del personal cambia por completo: de amables pasan a despreciarte. En resumen: sucio, deshonesto y nada recomendable. Eviten este lugar si no quieren arruinar su viaje.

The mixed dorm, very simple? You get what you pay for the value. Would be nicer if there’s females only room, did not get any sleep as there were people talking outside and people snoring inside

The only good thing about this is the location, in the heart of Wailoaloa. Staff seemed a bit annoyed with the guests at times. No kitchen available. Room was dark, too small, nowhere to lock your luggage (just small wobbly lockers for valuables). Room smelled weird, mattress was old. Bathrooms are dirty, not maintained very well. Shower drains don’t work, they always had water in them. Dirty pool. Clear signs of bedbugs, a mouse ate its way through my bag. Cheap place, but wouldn’t come back.

I mostly enjoyed my stay at this hostel, the staff are really nice and helpful and the hostel itself is quite nice and peaceful with a nice pool area at the back. We even got upgraded to a private room on our first night which was a massive bonus! Only bad thing was that there were bed bugs I think. Although I didn't see any, I woke up to tons of little bites on my ankle so I'm assuming it's bed bugs (or mozzies maybe). However, this seems to be an issue with all the hostels in the area unfortunately.

I booked for two nights at the end of last year, got but in a dorm full of bed bugs, so they transferred me to the bamboo hostel next door. It was also full of bedbugs. I asked for a refund for my second night, because there was no way I would stay, I’m still waiting for it. And I had to throw away my backpack and some of my clothes. People were lovely, but that was a horrible night and not very honestly handled.

In a word bedbugs, didn't sleep at all, loads of them crawling over the bed, I thought I might be imaging them but I ended up squashing 5 or 6, sleep with the lights on, they don't like the light

Leider waren Bettwanzen im Bett - nicht nur bei mir, sondern auch bei anderen Gästen. Das Personal gibt einem zwar ein neues Bett, aber die Matratze wird nur in die Sonne gelegt und später wieder neu bezogen, was das Problem leider nicht behebt.

Leider hat die Klimaanlage im Zimmer nicht funktioniert, sie wurde auch im Laufe der 4 Nächte nicht repariert. Zudem haben wir leider zu spät festgestellt, das wir Bettwanzen hatten. Wir wurden dann für die letzte Nacht in die Schwester-Unterkunft gebracht, jedoch auch wieder ohne Klimaanlage. Es sah auch so aus, als ob unsere Matratzen mit den Bettwanzen nur für ein paar Stunden draußen in die Sonne gelegt wurden und dann wieder frisch bezogen zurück ins Zimmer.

Our mattress was severely infested with bed bugs, which we realised during our last night. This resulted in allergic reaction and very itchy (painful even) bites all over the body.

Heard the other guests had bedbugs. Not really hotels fault as guests bring them in via their luggage but hopefully they can spray and get rid of them. I didn’t have them in my dorm room. Charge for towel usage. The coffee bar only open until 11am.

There were bedbugs in the last bed I stayed in and I couldn’t sleep all night.. made my further travels very complicated in reason of desinfection and missing sleep..

Die Unterkunft an und für sich war sehr gut. Es ist sehr simpel eingerichtet, hat jedoch alles was es braucht. Das Personal ist seeeehhhhr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das einzige Problem - Bettwanzen …. ich hatte eine in meinem Bett und am nächsten Tag fand ich zudem eine auf meinem Handtuch, welches ich über meinem Bett hängen hatte. Das Personal wurde entsprechend informiert!

I made a reservation for here with Booking.com for 20-24 March. Or so I thought. Somehow Booking.com's autofill changed the dates between my selection and payment and I didn't notice so I ended up arriving at the hostel being told my reservation was for a few days ago and I had been marked as a no-show. Despite my payment already going through and being accepted, and the hostel initially telling me it would be ok and I could still stay, they then changed their mind on my second day and demanded that I pay again. Pretty shady business tactics and very dishonest, to make me pay again even though the payment had already been accepted. When I pleaded my case to them, I was told to ask Booking.com for a refund and that I needed to pay again. As if Booking.com will do that. Nasty business tactics ripping off money from people trying to travel on a budget. Also the place had bedbugs, and quite a lot of them, as stated in others' reviews.

I was charged twice for the same reservation because booking.com changed the dates between my selection and payment and I did not notice. When I arrived they made me make a new reservation because my existing one had been marked as "no show" and I had to pay again, even though the money already went through from the first reservation - essentially making me pay twice for the same booking because of booking.com's error and me failing to notice. Pretty shoddy business from booking.com and pretty dishonest of the hostel for force me to pay twice. Also the room had bedbugs.
