Pitlochry Backpackers

The hostel was very busy when I stayed. I had to wait to have dinner as loads of people were cooking elaborate meals for ages, leaving everything in a mess. The lounge was very noisy, so it was impossible to relax after a long day (thank goodness for headphones). The kitchen and bathroom facilities are not very clean at all. Also, why has the drying room disappeared!? Lovely and welcoming staff, but given that this hostel is more expensive than others in the area, it really doesn't deliver.

Die Fotos auf der Homepage müssen schon älter sein. Es sah deutlich heruntergekommener aus und vieles war defekt. Die Dusche hat gestunken, wenn man Sie geöffnet hat. Das Fenster ging nicht zu. Einzig die Lage und der vorhandene Parkplatz waren super. Für das Geld hätte ich mehr erwartet.

I think a 5pm check in time is CRAZY like I’ve stayed in over 50 hostels never seen such a late check in before 2. there was only one plug in the room for 4 people, and this plug didn’t even work. I fear this is a basic facility requirement for a hostel

I've really enjoyed the stay here! Wonderful lounge and a cool games room to play some music! The kitchen has everything you need but it closes at some point. The only real downside was that the reception only starts to be open at 5pm but you can sit in the lounge and wait there :)

Heel erg leuk hostel met super aardig personeel! Er is een keuken en koelkast waar je gebruik van kan maken. De sfeer is ook echt ontzettend gezellig! Als je ontbijt wil kun je dat krijgen voor een lage prijs. Ik vond alleen de bedden echt onzettend dun! Niet heel comfortabel met de dunne matrasjes en als gaat douchen zou ik badslippers meenemen zodat je niet op de grond staat. Behalve dit was het overal goed schoon!

This location offers the basic necessities, which is all we were looking for during our short stay. The shared rooms are a little cramped and stuffy, but if you’re only in there to sleep it’s not a big deal. Showers ran hot and bathrooms were cleaned every day. We didn’t use the kitchen, but it looked fine and ran by the usual “no name, no claim” policy. This place is great for young backpackers as intended, just not great for a family. Main issue was that the top bunks have no sides so 2 youngest couldn't sleep on them which left me on the floor. Also random people sleeping on sofas in lounge areas. Kitchen/washing facilities limited to certain times meant we couldn't use them as we were only there for the night (arriving late and leaving early the next morning). Lovely chap on reception, very helpful and friendly. Good parking. Overall ok

Great hostel right in the center of town. Beds were comfortable. Common areas, kitchen and lounge were nice.

The facility is fine. Very normal hostel with a few quirks. The team were great when we encountered a problem with our room. We were moved to a different room. The location is fantastic in the center of Pitlochry. Definitely a good value for money.

Friendly staff and the hostel is clean and has bright imaginative decor. In the town and close to rail station. Well equipped kitchen for self catering. Good to see the building being invested in with a new roof. Once the works are finished hopefully the car park will be cleaned up.

I had a really good time. Lounge is great. People are nice. Kitchen is well equipped.

J'y suis passée en coup en vent et le simple fait d'avoir un toit sur la tête me fait dire qu'il est parfait pour ce dont j'ai eu besoin. La seule chose que je pourrais éventuellement regretter c'est de courir après quelqu'un pour le check-in. Sinon tout bien.

Average to good hostel. As advertised the best feature is a large lounge\dining room. The central location is great for eating out\takeaways which is useful cos the kitchen is on the tight side with only one single tap for EVERYONE whether filling a water bottle or washing up the dishes or getting the kettle filled for the free tea&coffee. [The owners need to fit a seperate filtered water outlet somewhere that is not in the kitchen area]. The off road carpark clinched it 4me. I would stay again.

Gorgeous hostel in the middle of Pitlochry with free parking out back. Katie the manager was super friendly and helpful. Lovely living room. Loved our private room. Very sweet, nicely furnished, excellent value. Highly recommend.

An absolute gem, the coziest hostel I have so far been to in Scotland.
