- Que en la reservar decía que si se podía llevar la mascota y en el valor venía incluido el desayuno y no lo dieron por que traje mi mascota cuando desde antes de reservar sabían que traía mascota

- La habitación que nos asignaron tenía un problema severo de humedad; la cama incluso parecía mojada. Intentamos solicitar ayuda, pero la única solución que ofrecieron fue cambiar las sábanas, lo cual no resolvió el problema. Fue imposible dormir debido al frío y la sensación Incómoda de humedad que esto generaba. Al día siguiente pedimos un cambio de habitación, pero al no recibir una respuesta satisfactoria, decidimos abandonar el hotel Para colmo, el personal mostró actitudes xenofóbicas hacia nosotros, lo cual resultó inaceptable.

- I stayed in the Deluxe Room. The room was very small and bathroom microscopic, the water in the shower wasn’t cold, that’s all I can say about water. There was no proper doors either to the bathroom or to the room, the room was locked with the padlock, this gave no noise reduction whatsoever from the hallway. The mattress was horrible, it was a sponge which was deforming under any pressure given, impossible to sleep without a broken back in the morning. The last and the most important thing is, my Deluxe Room, had no window! There were no towels, when I asked they provided some small thin sand paper quality towels. Walls and ceilings are made from paper and you feel like you literally sleep outside with other people. I wouldn’t stay again in this place. Neither cheap or comfortable. Very disappointing.

- Sind leider durch unsere Busverspätung 6 Stunden später angekommen als geplant, also um 22 Uhr, haben dann gleich unser Zimmer bekommen. Tja duschen nur mit lauwarmen Wasser was nach einer 13 stündigen Anreise echt nicht toll ist. Betten ungelogen steinhart, das Zimmer hatte vielleicht 8 qm im Erdgeschoss. Sobald Gäste was oben in den Zimmern schlafen sich in ihren Zimmern bewegt haben hatte man das Gefühl die Holzdecke bricht ein. Keine Ablagefläche im Zimmer. In der Dusche ein haarbüschel, und unter der Decke ebenso überall Haare. Um 07.30 Uhr morgens wurde genau vor unserer Türe gebohrt gehämmert ect. Wir waren so froh nur eine Nacht dort verbracht zu haben.

- We reserved the Deluxe room for a higher price, when we arrived the man in the reception first took our money (the payment for the Deluxe room) and after we saw the room and realized it's a regular room we requested to move to the room we reserved. The guy in the reception said it's occupied. So we demended to get the difference back and the guy refused and referred us to a mobile number of the manager that isn't answering until now. We are very dissatisfied and disappointed.

- El personal es muy desatento. Incluso al momento de entregar la habitación la chica que recibió súper pedante. Al hacer la reserva y pago decía que se incluía todo en las instalaciones, incluida la “piscina” que resultó siendo dos jacuzzis que para poder usar tocaba pagar y no económico. La habitación olía a humedad, en la cama sacamos dos cucarachas muertas. Si el fin es descansar no se recomienda el lugar, es muy ruidoso. Al rededor hay mejores opciones con desayuno incluido al mismo precio.

- Upon arrival, we received a different room than what we booked through Booking.com. The staff was unhelpful and did not offer any discounts or assistance. We had booked a room with a private washroom and asked the receptionist about the noise level. He assured us it was quiet, but the room was right next to a busy street, making it impossible to sleep. The window was just a small slit that opening it put us within inches at shoulder level with pedestrians. The pictures on booking.com showed an actually window. We were also surprised to find extra charges for basic amenities like towels and hot water for the jacuzzi. This was not communicated to us prior to our stay.I recommend future guests inspect their rooms before paying. There are better accommodations in Salento for less money

+ Nice shared spaces, rooms are basic but clean. Big plus is the activities every night like playing local games such as tejo; easy to meet other people and fun!

+ Very nice cozy place. It feels like you enter different world , different from other surrounding in Salento. The stuff is super nice and helpful… available all the time on phone and physically

- The room was too small with super large bed… no place for the bags. But not a big issue for a few nights

+ Jefferson and Veronica were super friendly and kind. Loved all the cats. Location was excellent and when I was there it was very sociable.

- Le petit déjeuner pas à l'heure Le 1er jour nous avons du déjeuner a l'extérieur car il n'y avait personne, le 2eme jour nous avons attendu plus d'une 1/2 heure pour voir la personne qui préparait le pdj et le sourire devait être en option.

+ Le personnel est vraiment vraiment adorable ! Il y a plein d’activités organisées chaque jour et tout est bien pensé. L’hostel est idéalement situé proche de la gare routière et du centre ville.

- J’ai séjourné en chambre individuelle, il faisait froid et humide après une journée de pluie ce n’est pas très agréable. La chambre donnait sur la rue très passante sans fenêtre juste les volets typiques il y avait beaucoup de bruit. La salle de bain était sommaire et il n’y avait pas de sèche cheveux.

- I had some rude if not just plain arrogant encounters with the staff. Furthermore, you need to walk outside to get to a toilet if you stay in the dormitories so that’s something to keep in mind. The bedlinnen was full of stains when I arrived. Lastly, we upgraded rooms and they were very unclear with the extra costs so we had to pay extra twice.

+ Estrella del Sur is conveniently and centrally located in Salento and is a great location to get to everything you need. The staff were also incredibly helpful, especially Carolina, and we loved all the hostel cats!

- The reason for below average room rating is because the first room we had was next to reception and was very noisy, it felt like you were on the street. Another lovely staff member (can’t remember the name, sorry) helped us and enabled us to move room, which was better. The hostel is quite noisy in general though as there is a nearby establishment playing music everyday quite loudly. The rooms are also ok but the bathrooms were very small and damp. The kitchen facilities are also not great, it’s very small and doesn’t feel the most clean but it’s good to have the option to cook.

+ Location was great. Good to have a kitchen to use (though could do with some more items like a seive). My partner also appreciated the pull up bar and weights. Friendly staff and lots of events on in the day and evenings (though we didn't attend but heard good feedback from other guests).

- A few issues with our room - there was quite a strong smell of damp/mould in our room unfortunately. There was also a big gap at the top of our door covered only by mosquito netting which meant we were woken up by anyone else coming home to other rooms nearby in the middle of the night. Similarly, when the girls next door decided to smoke right outside our door, our room smelt like smoke. Also walls and ceiling very thin and wooden so felt like the couple above us were in the room with us... Was nice to have breakfast included but it started quite late so when we went out early for the first jeep to Cocora, we had to buy breakfast to take with us.

+ La Sra Obeida fue tan amable y tan simpática que mejoró un poco la experiencia. Hay unos gatitos adorables preciosos.

- Hay muchísimo ruido ya que las paredes son muy finas. Hay música del hotel hasta las 22.30h (tuvimos que pedir que apagaran la música 2 de las 3 noches que estuvimos). También se escuchan los huespedes caminar y Charlar. La habitación olía a humedad y en muchos momentos también a clocacas / baño (a veces los huéspedes fumaban al lado de nuestra ventanilla). Las habitaciones se podrían mejorar mucho (almohadas muy viejas y colchón doble que se hunde a la mitad)

- Déception. Aucune réponse n'a jamais été apportée à ma demande de modification de réservation faite par l'intermédiaire de Booking. J'ai donc été conduit à accepter de payer une nuit supplémentaire pour rien. Chambre exiguë, humide, sans ouverture. Fermeture de la porte de la chambre avec un petit cadenas, cela n'est pas sécurisant. A mon sens cet établissement tient plus d'un campement que d'un hostal. Il n'a rien à faire sur Booking.

+ Rooms are small but fine, it feels a bit "wet" from the walls but thats not a big issue. Hangmocks around the area. Everyone working here is super nice and friendly! 🤩 They have a WA group where they will post all the events going on - and they really have a lot. :) we had chocolate con Queso evening and game night 🤗 really cool! Breakfast is basic but also really good. You get a lot of fruit, tee and coffee 🫶🏼 They really try to keep the place clean thats also a plus 🤩 Can definitely recommend! So close to the main square and across from shakshuka!! Best restaurant in town!! 🤗
