BEDBUGS - STAY AWAY Spent one night in the 20 Bed Dorm and it was horrible. Not only was the noise and snoring unbearable, we also got Bedbugs in all our stuff. Also the price for what you get in return in general is way to high. We spent 12€ per person - just for the dirty bed. Definitely better options around Wailoaloa available.

Do NOT stay here! I got bed bugs after staying here 2 weeks ago. I tried to reach out to them to solve the problem. They do not respond..

I was hesitant to book smugglers cove due to some negative reviews but I’m very glad I did! The rooms were clean (no bed bugs) and noise depends on which room you’re in as I stayed twice-first time no noise but second time was quite noisy next to the bar. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere with the lights and live music and a good menu! Would highly recommend before and after travelling to yasawas!

J’ai séjourné à plusieurs reprises au Smugglers à Nadi, qui est une étape pratique avant de partir explorer la Coral Coast ou les îles. L’établissement est bien situé : proche de l’aéroport (10 min en taxi), facilement accessible en transport, avec la plupart des tours qui viennent vous chercher directement ici. Un petit supermarché se trouve à quelques minutes à pied pour acheter de quoi dépanner. Les dortoirs (il existe des dortoirs réservés aux femmes) sont propres et climatisés, chaque lit dispose d’une prise et d’un casier fermant, ce qui est très appréciable. Les lits sont corrects et je n’ai constaté aucun problème de bed bugs, ce qui n’est pas toujours évident aux Fidji ! Les douches et sanitaires étaient globalement propres. L’ambiance est plutôt celle d’un backpacker de passage : les dortoirs sont un bon moyen de rencontrer d’autres jeunes voyageurs. Je me suis sentie en sécurité, surtout dans le dortoir réservé aux femmes, même si ce sont de grands dortoirs qui ne laissent pas beaucoup de place à l’intimité. Mais après tout, la plupart des séjours ici ne durent qu’une nuit ou deux. Le restaurant propose un menu varié, avec quelques options pour les végétariens, à des prix corrects pour Nadi — parfait pour ce que c’est. Le service est plutôt au “Fiji time”, mais le personnel reste sympa : j’ai eu un souci de réservation et nous avons trouvé un arrangement pour le remboursement. La piscine et l’accès direct à la plage sont des plus agréables pour se détendre en attendant son prochain transport. Le wifi est fiable dans les espaces communs et au restaurant, mais ne fonctionne pas dans les chambres. En résumé, ce n’est pas le resort le plus charmant des Fidji, mais c’est un choix très pratique pour une nuit ou deux en transit à Nadi, avec un bon rapport qualité/prix et une ambiance backpacker pour rencontrer d’autres voyageurs.

I was scared about this place because of reviews about cockroaches & bed bugs, but I was super pleasantly surprised by our rooms! We chose two garden view rooms with attached bathrooms which were really worth it compared to the dorms because we had no issues at all, even had tvs and the showers had strong pressure with good heat. No bed bugs or cockroaches anywhere I saw. Only negative was hostelworld says checkin is at 2pm but our rooms weren’t ready until 3pm & 3:15pm for the 2nd room. We didn’t eat here but we sat in the dining chairs facing the beach (there’s only 4 lounge chairs so they’re always taken) and kept being asked what we wanted to eat but we just kept saying no and we were fine.

Overcrowded, unclean, and dismissive Dorms were overcrowded with limited showers. I woke up with bed bug bites and emailed clear pictures to the hostel. They responded by saying they “don’t get bedbugs” — not sure how they think they’re immune. No accountability, poor hygiene, overpriced food. Avoid if you value cleanliness or basic respect

We stayed one night in the dorm to wait for our flight connection and we are disappointed. Normally, even though it’s a dorm, the hostels are great, but there it was bad. One reason was that beds in the dorm are small and tight. The main problem was that we experienced bed bugs and were bitten the whole night.

A loot of cockroaches in the dorms. Even in the bed. But at least there were no bed bugs. Pool pretty nice. Food okay but nothing special. They didn’t wash the brown duvets.

Had bed bugs, awful hygiene in the hostel and smell was awful.

This was a nice enough place to stay. Good location on the beach and good bar atmosphere at night. The dorms were not the cleanest a few cockroaches. I had read previous reviews about bedbugs but couldn’t find any traces when we were there fortunately.

rooms weren't the same as the pictures and bed has bedbugs when we asked them to change our rooms they said all the rooms are the same so we had to leave and find another hotel

Very dirty, lots of bed bugs, toilets are smelly. The staff are fab, very helpful, right next to the beach. Come here for a good cheap stopover, but don’t expect to feel safe clean or have a good nights sleep!

Dortoir: Nous avons eu un dortoir de 22 personnes, divisé en cubicules de 4. Donc la nuit peut-être bruyante, entre voisins, ronflements et lit grinçant. Il y a deux toilettes et deux douches dans le dortoir, ce qui est pratique. La connexion Wi-Fi est gratuite mais très mauvaise, comme souvent aux Fidjis. Pour un dépôt de 50$ vous aurez une clefs magnétique pour entrer dans la chambre et une clefs du casier correspondant à votre lit. Apparemment vous pouvez aussi avoir une serviette. Le dépôt vous sera rendu lors de la remise des clefs. Nous n'avons pas vu/eu de punaises de lit les 3 fois où nous y sommes allé. Il y a des petits magasins dans l'hôtel, et un bus passe toutes les heures (à la demi, avec un retard fidjien) et vous emmène à Nadi pour 1.5$. Restaurant: le restaurant est bon, même si un peu cher parfois. Le staff est parfois submergé et le temps d'attente peut être très long. Mais cela dépend des jours. Il y a des concerts, cérémonie du feu et de Kava le soir, ce qui anime la terrasse qui est très agréable. La plage n'est pas au niveau des îles, mais pour faire une halte à Nadi, c'est un bon plan

Stains on the sheets, asked for them to be changed and they acted like it was an issue, Husband covered in itchy bites guessing it’s BED BUGS!!!! Insect pooh on sheets, Room never cleaned, given one towel for 3 people staff acted like it was a problem giving us another 2. No shower mat or hand towel until we asked One roll of toilet paper for 5 nights stay. Info sheet says housekeeping will come after 3 days never came. On the 4th day we went and asked for replacement towels and were given ridiculous old thin ones you couldn’t use for your pets, was never given replacement clean towels, staff had zero interest in helping with anything Shower door doesn’t close, mould all over the shower tiles grout , shower floor dirty generally everywhere run down and dirty. Mould around the bathroom sink and drain. Staff not friendly at all 4% surcharge using overseas card Made to pay $100 deposit even though this app states a $50 deposit was required

The staff were wonderful, especially Joanne. There were no bed bugs (I heard they were found at other accommodations). There's not really much to do at the hostel. There is no kitchen for guests to use, so you have to buy food. Overall, I'd say my stay was fine. It's worth the price if you're only staying a night or 2.

Stayed in girls dorm. It was quite small, but relatively clean and it worked well for one night. There were no bed bugs! They offer shuttle transport to the airport for 15 FJD per person, or 20 FJD for a taxi.

Good thing first: no bed bugs. The dorm room is a bit cold 🥶 and it smells mouldy. However, for a couple of nights t it was totally ok. I really enjoyed the fire 🔥 show. Nice location though to start from there to the instands paradise.

In my opinion the best place to stay around Nadi. It is true that is not in the city center, but I definitely prefer to be next to the beach. One star off because the beach could be more taken care of it. It is more a hotel vibe than a hostel for basically the same price. Water is really hot, and during my stay NO BEDBUGS, so big plus. The organization is decent and restaurant a bit pricey but animations and service are good. The place looks really amazing and is literally ON the beach with free sunbeds, so perfect way to start or Finnish your stay in Fiji. I have taken one star because I booked it for the laundromat service that was completely unavailable.. When I will return to Fiji will stay there 100%.

Pretty bad post covid. Someone had told me they seemed to not live up to the rating since covid, but I didn’t want to believe them. Smugglers should update their description: the wi-fi isn’t free and a glitchy and only works in certain parts, the front desk wasn’t open 24/7 as had been promised at check-in, there’s no hot water (not even if you ask to drink some - forget the showers), the food and drinks are resort-expensive and you’re not a short walk from the center of Nadi, the rooms are old and loud and not clean, and the door didn’t lock. There was no dive shop - which was ok but was promised - and I heard thumping music at 2 am. For the icing on the cake, I had many many bed bug bites. As for pros, the rooms have A/C and the staff are friendly. While I always try to get the best bang for my buck, Smugglers ended up being a poor decision

Great outside area. Stayed in the 32 bed dorm, unfortunately there were bed bugs. Otherwise bfast good and price great if booked online.
