Tive um episódio meio chato com bed bugs, mas a equipe procurou resolver rapidamente para os próximos hóspedes.

I was a bit worried about bed bugs - some people mentioned them before, but I didn’t have any problems. Maybe the breakfast might be a bit better, but for the price I can’t complain

NÃO RECOMENDO... O HOSTEL ESTÁ COM SURTO DE PERCEVEJOS DE CAMA (BED BUG), HÁ PELO MENOS 6 MESES. O Hostel é bem localizado e a equipe da recepção é simpática, em especial o Marcelo, que é um amor de pessoa e me mostrou o que havia próximo ao hostel. Após a primeira noite, senti meu corpo coçando, mas por estar em um país diferente, pensei que fosse alguma reação ao tempo, comida, etc. Conversando com alguns hóspedes, me foi relatado que havia um surto de percevejos (bed bug) no hostel e que eu não seria o primeiro caso. Este problema existe há pelo menos seis meses e até agora nada foi feito. Fui à farmácia e de fato foi constatado que as picadas eram dos percevejos. DEIXO AQUI O ALERTA: NÃO SE HOSPEDEM NESSE HOSTEL, NEM MESMO NOS QUARTOS PRIVATIVOS.

Bed bugs. Woke up all bitten. Showed them. They agreed to what it was. Moved me to a different room and said they had refund me. They hadn't. No word again.

Kitchen was fantastic, breakfast was decent if you woke early enough, bathroom was full of mould. Rooms were great until we left and noticed we were covered head to toe in bed bug bites. Great location, good wifi.

It was a 5 star review until I noticed the bed bug bites.

Leider hatten wir während meinem Aufenthalt Bettwanzen im Zimmer (8-bed dorm) und viele aus unserem Zimmer hatten Stiche, die komplett angeschwollen sind. Wie gesagt auch wenn das Hostel sauber war, kann es passieren, dass Leute diese mitbringen... Ansonsten wäre es schön ein paar Gewürze wie Salz zur Verfügung zu haben, wenn man nämlich nur 2 Tage in der Stadt verbringt und nur einmal kocht, will man sich nicht unbedingt ein neues kaufen.

Bed bugs - I have bites all over my skin; AC plumbing noise all night long - I can't believe this hostel thinks it's OK to have people sleep in a room in those conditions. Overall the room was not properly cleaned.

Lots of bed bugs present. Staff handled it well.

Sehr schöne Einrichtung. Kein Partyhostel, vergleichsweise ruhig. Häufig etwas über Bettwanzen gehört aber verschont geblieben?

The staff at Porto Spot Hostel were great. We had dinner at the hostel and went out for drinks with great people. Everything was great until I found a bed bug. I looked at other reviews and saw that people have reported bed bugs here before. The atmosphere was great but not worth getting bed bugs, so I left after 3 days there when I was supposed to stay for 7. Management wasn’t available to talk to but the staff there were nice and helped me.

My Experience (Arrived on 9/27/2025): When I first arrived, there were a few issues. There was no Wi-Fi in my room, and worse, there was no electricity. I had booked a private room but couldn’t even charge my phone or power bank. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I spoke to someone at reception, and all he said was, “Yeah, we have some electricity problem right now.” Thankfully, the power came back around 1130PM. Second issue: I woke up feeling super itchy and found two bed bugs in my bed. 🙈 Since then, I haven’t been able to sleep properly because I keep worrying there might be more. That said, it is a great social hostel overall. Free light breakfast, most of the staff and housekeeping are friendly, and the location is excellent.

Giving 2 stars because I spent a weekend in room 26 (second floor) with some friends and at least 4 of us came back with bed bugs. We had a few bites during the stay but the big reveal was when we got home and all our things were infested 🙃. The hostel is really nice, the common areas are big and the outdoor patio is great, same with location.

Punaise de lit

Eu tive infelizmente a experiência de ter percevejos de cama, ofereceram a troca de lençóis e posteriormente troca de quarto. Mas tive a sensação de que nao é a primeira vez que isso acontece, um pedido de desculpas também nao recebi. A simpatia das pessoas na recepção também deixou um pouco a desejar.

Unfortunately, the hostel hasn’t fully dealt with a bed bug issue, which was a massive blow to the experience. I hadn’t seen it mentioned on Booking.com, but later noticed it flagged on Google reviews. While the people and social environment here are truly incredible, I’d suggest avoiding the hostel for now until this is fully resolved. Credit to Luis though – he handled the situation exceptionally well, immediately helping me find another place and offering to clean my clothes without hesitation.

Definitely has bed bugs…my body is covered with at least 20+ small bites!!

i LOVED staying here, but on my last day i learned from another person staying in my shared room that there was a terrible bedbug infestation on the floor below ours. sure enough, bites started showing up. and not just a few - a TON from just a couple of nights. when this issue was brought to the management they were extremely casual about it even though it seems like this has been an issue at the hostel for at least a month. i’m very disappointed because i otherwise had an amazing time and want to be able to recommend it, but can’t in good conscience until this get resolved. i wish i could get back the time i’ve spent combing through all my things since getting back. i had to throw out my favorite sweatshirt and a brand new piece of luggage for my peace of mind because they got infested. i seriously hope the hostel starts to take this issue seriously because i otherwise found the people, food, and location to be excellent 💔

There’re bed bugs there!!! It’s my first time to be bitten by them. Omg, it’s really disgusting and painful. And my leg and chest were bitten too! It destroys my trip totally! They also don’t provide shower gel and shampoo. Only paper towels and hot water. It’s not close to the metro station. I don’t know why the remark is so high. Book it if you don’t mind bed bugs!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Really enjoyed my time here! The family style dinners make it so comfortable and easy to get to know other people, and they take you to local bars instead of touristy clubs which provided a great experience. The free breakfast is an added bonus, and the bathrooms were well maintained. No curtains on the beds though and a couple of people had issues with bed bugs, but overall a lovely stay

Two words: bed bugs. The hostel is well located and the reception staff are friendly. However, it only took me 2 nights to notice the bedbugs in my private room. On bed sheet/pillow case, then saw a little one running around one the night table. The staff had to find me a room at another location overnight at 2am - walked there with all my luggage in the middle of the night (thank you Luis you were very helpful and nice, also for helping me wash my clothes under high heat). I was informed that the manager would be in, in the morning and that it should be no problem getting my stay reimbursed. I slept 3.5 hrs that night. A total nightmare. However, as I showed up in the morning, I was informed the manager was not there and would not be there, and that the issue will be resolved over email. I have sent 3 emails since then and have gotten no response, no reimbursement. Porto Spot Hostel has ghosted me. A total disappointment. I would highly recommend against staying at the Porto Spot Hostel until they have COMPLETELY resolved their bed bugs problem, because bed bugs being present in my private room only means there are infestations in other rooms as well. If you have stayed within the last few weeks: please wash and dry all your clothes under high heat and check all your luggage for bed bugs. If you already have a stay booked: consider cancelling/switching. Nobody deserves to stay in a room full of bedbugs and getting eaten alive, not to mention running the risk of bringing those back home and to loved ones. Disgusting. Never again.

I loved this place until i experienced bed bugs attack me all over my body. This is the worst thing that I scared the most and it happened to me 😢

Quedamos 1 noche en este hostel en septiembre y amanecí con todo el cuerpo picado por chinches.

Présence de punaises de lit!! Pas de rideaux au lit donc manque d’intimité

Se nos pidió hacer el check out una hora antes porque iban a tener "trabajos". Amanecimos con picaduras de chinches por todo el cuerpo.

Great spot and great staff. Unfortunately when I pulled my bag out from under the bed in the locker, I found 2 bedbugs right away. I emailed the staff to let them know in order to take precautions.

El hostal está bien ubicado, las salas comunes y las habitaciones compartidas amplias y todo muy limpio. El personal ha sido muy amable sobre todo Jorge quien tuvo una gran predisposición para resolver nuestro inconveniente, lamentablemente el problema fueron las chinches que había en las camas que habíamos reservado y que me han picado provocando una reacción alérgica. Jorge inmediatamente nos ofreció mudarnos de habitación y tuvo detalle con nosotras. La puntuación es por esta mala experiencia con las chinches y creo que sirve para que aquellas personas que sufren alergias lo tengan en cuenta.

There were ants EVERYWHERE on the floor and coming up onto the table. Then, in the middle of the night I found a bed bug on my bed. The nice man on reception helped me wash my stuff and put me in a hotel over the road, but I didn’t even get a refund for my night’s stay which is appalling.

I stayed at Spothostel for 4 nights with 7 students from a university in Germany as part of our annual field trip to Northern Portugal. Two of the students in our group suffered from bedbug bites during our stay. Following our return to Germany, professional pest control confirmed the presence of bedbugs in their belongings. Despite communicating this urgent issue to the hostel, we have not received any acknowledgment or assurance of corrective action. Additionally, the breakfast offered during our stay did not meet expectations. Essential items such as cheese and ham were consistently missing. In conclusion, our experience at Spothostel was less than satisfactory.

CUIDADO SI SE QUEDAN AQUÍ, fuimos dos chicas y en la cama de mi amiga había chinches, le dijimos a la recepcionista y nos cambio las sabanas pero al dia siguiente, mi amiga amanecio con picaduras por todo la espalda y estomago, Posteriormente mientras guardabamos las cosas vimos en la otra cama, avisamos y las de limpieza super prepotentes, diciendo que no había nada, supongo que querian ver un animal gigante para hacer algo. SI QUIEREN SALIR CON CHINCHES, VENGAN AQUÍ
