Cairngorm Lodge Youth Hostel

Very good

Lovely hostel. I went solo and although there were other solo travellers there, the hostel is definitely better set up for family's- especially with being really close to the outdoor centre. Rooms were nice- a little dated but not really an issue as there are plenty of sockets and space to move around. Bathrooms are really nice- individual showers and toilets. Food is okay but pricey- restaurant prices but not restaurant quality so I'd recommend going out for dinner

L'endroit est très bien situé, le personnel sympathique. La cuisine est bien équipée pour cuisiner et l'atmosphère était calme lors de notre visite. Il faut dire qu'il y avait peu de monde sur place. Nous avions loué une chambre pour 2. Les chambres sont spartiates et l'éclairage est mauvais. Un peu de décoration ne coûterait pas cher et une table de chevet et éclairage d'appoint serait approprié. Dans les douches, des portes savon et des crochets pour le linge seraient un plus pour...

What a wonderful place to stay—the best hostel I’ve ever experienced! From the staff to the location, cleanliness, comfort, and vibe, I honestly can’t find a single fault. I’d love to come back here again, maybe in winter ✨ The staff were all so kind, and a special mention to Milo—such a warm soul who makes sure you’re comfortable and truly enjoying your time. ☺️

No recycling. Blue T towels(heard of bleach?)Marks on bedding??again attack it….cooking system not great for ordered food….. Why did they put the heating on? Slept with window open But….. good helpful fun staffmade up for rest No walk files like at the other places. Bedding should be dried outside to get fresh air as the weather has been warm(short sleeved tee shirts

What a change from the 1990s! Modern, comfortable, clean but still with a lovely community spirit. Well done for keeping the best of the past while meeting contemporary expectations. Thank you!

This is a comment rather than a review - the hostel was excellent and perfect if you're going to be outdoors in the Cairngorms. My only cause for alarm- all of the kitchen knives were large, pointed and of the kind now most commonly used in stabbings. I'm deeply uncomfortable sharing space with them and strangers. Please see the "lets be blunt" campaign started by Southport stabbing survivor Leanne Lucas https://www.letsbeblunt.co.uk/ and make blunt tipped kitchen knives hostel policy!

A really comfortable hostel, calm and relaxing with a quiet room and spacious dorms with a nice view on the mountains. Good commodities, large kitchen, clean showers and toilets: everything that I expected from an hostel, and I met nice people. Great emplacement for hikes and 5 minutes away from the loch beach. Would love to come back !

One of the top 3 Hostels I have stayed at. The beds are very comfortable, the facilities are clean with ample space, and friendly staff. Easy check in and out. Conveniently located in the National Park. Highly recommend.

On arrival our room was already given to another person whom payed remaining money for staying in on my Name so we not received room and was required to stay with someone else. Person whom got our room was charged by booking.com £110 and he payed £95.70 for my room so I lost £14.30 deposit payment at the same secured room.

Great place to stay

All the staff have been genuine and friendly over our stay here. We have been grateful that they kept us fed, and for somewhere comfy to rest and chat at the end of the day. A good spot for getting the bus to the ski station or back to Aviemore. Good access to walks and right by Loch Morlich.

Hostel superbe, des espaces cuisine, séjour vastes et bien équipés. Nous avons apprécié que les chaussures restent à l'entrée, du coup c'est très propre, les pods sanitaires sont superbes.
