Oke Baik Hostel

When we arrived, after an hour of walking from the train station because the hostel is like 5 km away, the kindly staff told us it was fully booked. We were send in the second hostel of the group, at the corner of the street. Finally we had our room with a balcony but full of old cigarettes in the ground, the garbage in the bathroom was full & the ground of our room was still with old papers left by the guest before. So the room hadn’t been cleaned, like the bathroom so dirtyyyyyyyy.

We booked for Oke Baik and they relocated us to a partner hostel on arrival, we’d usually be fine with this however the room was not what was advertised. The sheets obviously hadn’t been washed, the bathroom was dirty and smelly, the AC didn’t work and the owner wasn’t around when needed. The price was cheap so we didn’t have high expectations but the general vibe of uncleanliness and lack of care was disappointing. Nettes Hostel, aber sehr basic. Freundliche Mitarbeiter, Rollerverleih möglich, gute Lage in der Nähe von Restaurants, Bars, Supermärkten. Aber: das Bad im Doppelzimmer ist sehr einfach, es gibt kein Waschbecken (!), der Abfluss ist offen (Kalerlaken im Bad). Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Wir würden nicht wieder herkommen.

Good for a couple of nights and very close to restaurants. The room wasn't very clean and our bathroom didn’t have a sink, but we worked around that with the shower. Staff were friendly and the AC worked well!

No one at reception for an hour when checking out, really dirty walls in the room. Made me properly understand the phrase dirt cheap

I chose this because it was a budget option. The bedroom was fine, standard form but I found the shower and bathroom uncomfortable. For me being downstairs the bathroom was a communal wet room and it wasn’t the best. Standard very cheap hostel.

No staff at the desk for check-in for long periods, no real introduction to the hostel, only passably clean and no sinks to wash your hands! But it is cheap.

Very nice stay

The staff were great and the location is brilliant. However, the beds aren’t very good, neither is the bathroom or kitchen. It’s good value for money I would still say but it’s definitely not luxury. It’s budget and isn’t a bad hostel at all it’s just only for people who like completely basic accommodations.

It was a nice stay, very friendly staff. Don’t expect a social hostel, it’s more like a homestay. In the room you can hear the rest the house pretty good. And cold water. But it was a very comfortable stay

Lovely hostel! We will definitely return if we have the chance to come back to Yogya. The staff were really friendly and fun—we hung out with them for several days. If you're lucky, you'll get to hear Luthfi sing! The service was perfect, and they helped us with everything we needed.

Very nice staff. They were absolutely lovely. They help you organise tours from there and they are alway in for a chat. The hostel was nice, clean and small-scaled. I didn’t meet a lot of people there, but that’s also because I was out a lot. Stayed there for three nights and I would stay there again!

Alex, was an amazing host and we would defenetly come back. I can highly recommend this place!

Great hostel with nice and clean rooms and lots of spots to hang out. Alex and the rest of the team are really cool, open and incredibly friendly, gave us recommendations and all are always open for a chat. Oke baik felt like home :) Loved the jam-sessions as well!

Honestly, I am a first time solo traveler from Germany and this are so far the most kind people I have met. All of the staff from Alex to Willy are such nice people which always offer themselves to help. Everything is very clean and the cooling system works properly. I think I will come back. I came as a guest and I left as a friend!!!

Their page says you can pay by credit card but they only took cash! Aside from that the staff were really nice and helpful. The rooms were good and it was clean. A car can’t reach it so you’ll need to walk 1-2 mins through the little alleys. Overall it’s a laidback place without a social vibe
