Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t very good. The place was loud due to nearby construction, and the open reception without air conditioning makes it quite warm. The staff didn’t feel very welcoming. The room was old and hot, with the shower in the same space as the toilet. There’s almost no social atmosphere or activities, and you can only pay in cash. For the same price, you can find much better options.

The location is great and so is cleaning. But our room had wooden slats where there are holes and nails sticking out so mosquitoes get in, no noise proofing and will get hot. Our biggest issue is with Max. He is friendly, but we noticed his little white lies to avoid things. After we checked out we got an email our reservation was cancelled (meaning we can't leave a review). Max said it was a glitch and nothing he can do. After messaging the website, in 12 hours I got the link to leave a review

The worst hostel I’ve ever been in Thailand! It’s not social at all. They are very strict and when I came back at 11pm it was like a stressful situation because they wanted all to be quite even I was so quite at all. Once I was in my room and the manager came to tell the girl in it and he said to her,that she has 10 min left to check out(even she was nearly ready) so very stressful. Weird vibe ! I would not recommend

Okay accomodation, quite pricey for the private room compared to what you get which is quite basic. No 24-hour reception which makes checking in and out a bit of a hassle, although the staff did accomodate us when we asked for late check-in. Social atmosphere in the common areas, seems like an easy place to meet other travelers.

Very nice staff. The rooms were very dated and the beds weren’t very comfortable, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Eigenaar is een aparte man en raakte mijn vriendin ook aan op haar buik om te voelen of haar shirt nat was, nadat ze had gezegd dat het droog was. Hij komt meerdere keren de kamer binnen en ik vond het een nare man. Hij is verder aardig en vraagt wel naar je plannen, maar ik had een naar gevoel bij hem. Je voelt de veren in het bed erg zitten, locatie is zo’n 20 minuten lopen van het centrum maar verder wel prima te doen

Die Unterkunft an sich ist okay aber die 4 Fische im kleinen Brunnen sind krank und werden nicht fair gehalten. Habe mit Max gesprochen und er wollte es seinem Chef weitergeben, allerdings glaub ich, dass sie das nicht kümmert.

Max, the person who runs it is amazing! He’s so friendly and informative! The place is so lovely too!

Solid hostel. Good location and staff are great. Private rooms are very bare - not even a unit or a mirror - just a bed.

I absolutely loved my stay here! I extended and came back here multiple times now! The people that work here are wonderful! Max is so so friendly and helpful! I’d be back here in a heartbeat!

Séjour incroyable dans cet hostel ! L’établissement est super propre, tout est vraiment bien entretenu, ce qui est très appréciable. Le personnel est extrêmement accueillant et toujours prêt à aider. Mention spéciale à Max, qui est vraiment très marrant et met une super ambiance ! Je recommande cet endroit à fond : excellent rapport qualité-prix, et en plus ils proposent de super activités qui rendent le séjour encore plus mémorable. Une adresse à ne pas manquer !

Very good Hostel in chiang mai

Our favourite hostel ever! Max was so good and helpful and the social area was the best we’ve experienced. Was a chill but friendly vibe and it was clean and comfy. Deffo stay here if you’re in Chiang Mai!

Had an amazing time at Big&O’s! Great hostel located close to the old city of Chiang Mai. Very clean and great service by all the employees. Also the host Max is just lovely, builds a bond with everyone he sees and is very enthusiastic. Also joins in for a game or some drinks now and then. Great AC in the rooms and also nice to have a drying rack in your room. Outside are some great places to chill and where you can meet other people. Would surely recommend it!

One of my favorite hostels iv been to. Run by a local family and they couldn’t be more friendly and welcoming.

Honestly the best hostel I’ve ever been to. This place felt immediately like home, not only because of the people I’ve met but the kindness of every person working there. I highly recommend it to you, max will make you see Chiang Mai in another level

Big&O’s is and amazing hostel that’s really social, clean and felt so safe. The owners and staff are all so friendly and welcoming and give amazing recommendations for both activities and food around Chiang Mai! Couldn’t recommend enough!!!

Heel leuk hostel, de host Max was super vriendelijk en hielp ons meteen toen we aankwamen. Hij is heel gezellig en liet ons daar echt welkom voelen. Leuke tijd hier gehad, aanrader!

best hostel in chiang mai!! max is great i would stay again

Super nette Betreiber, die sich um alles kümmern. Organisieren von Aktivitäten zu super Preisen und Beratung bei allen Angelegenheiten. Es wird mehrmals täglich die Dusche und Bad gereinigt und generell sehr sauber Unterkunft.

nice good value hostel

Nice hostel, u got everything u need and the common area is big enough to chill out with other guys, the staff is kind, Max in particular is very friendly, recommended!🤙

Overall a nice hostel, but you aren’t able to sit up straight in the bottom of the bunk beds, which is just very inconvenient. But other than that nice rooms and fine location:)
