Gecko Backpackers Hostel

Dirtiest hostel I have ever stayed at. We had the private room and it looked like they cleaned the floor with mud water when we arrived. They also didn’t provide sheets for the blankets.

This place is essentially run by volunteers so no one had much idea of what was going on. There was 2 girls sharing a bed in our room and the staff had no idea (and didn’t do anything about it) and another friend had another two people in their beds when they checked in that the hostel had no one who they were - the staff just said they we’re probably drunk and wandered in and laughed it off! The hostel it really cute and such a nice space but very messy and en-suites are really dirty.

Left one day earlier - weird vibes:( The hostel looked fine and the beds were clean, but there were huge rats running around in broad daylight… The vibe was super weird and like a cult. People ignored us and there were more volunteers than guests. The “private” toilet in the room was damp and wet all the time:( There was no fan on the top bunk. Our laundry was promised to be done by 7, but wasn’t done before 11:30☹️ Everything was unstructured, dirty and confusing.

We stayed in a private room here, and found out on our first night, that our door wouldn’t shut from the outside and didn’t the door to the extent the the top 3 inches of the door frame was open at all times. As a result, we had mosquitoes at all times, could hear anyone across the hostel and our stuff was not safe in the room. The staff not only were unhelpful and did not provide a solution until the owner arrived, they told us it was up to us to solve. The room was unclean. Very disappoint...

Los chicos voluntarios muy buena onda y el desayuno estaba bien pero la habitación y el baño no estaban lo suficientemente limpios, la puerta de mi habitación estaba rota, no cerraba, la arreglaron varias veces pero seguía igual, las instalaciones son viejas y descuidadas

This is one of the worst hostel I’ve ever been to. It’s so dirty and infested with cockroaches. When I asked the staff for a sponge to clean my bag they told me that there was not a single clean one in the entire hostel, so that should tell you how the facilities are

Dirty rooms, 6 leftover coffee mugs when I checked in and two smashed mirrored glass bedside tables just left randomly in the corner of the room. There are 10x better hostels nearby for a similar price. As a plus, Pool area looks gorgeous!

Estuve dos noches en este hostal, y la experiencia fue desastrosa. Aunque las camas eran grandes y cómodas, me picaron pulgas en las piernas ambas noches, y la ropa de cama claramente no estaba limpia. Además, el primer día participé en la cena organizada por el hostal, y desde entonces tengo un herpes en el labio y dolores de barriga cada noche. Felt very dirty and old. Room had dust everywhere, found 2 spiders on bed and a moth in room. No locks on door either. The actual facilities were nice and staff however the rooms not my fav. Very cheap so makes sense but if you prefer a more social and modern space i’d pay that extra £3 somewhere else!

The stay was OK, the room was crammed and the bathroom was like a kiddie pool, having been flooded and hadn't drained throughout my whole stay, I got my laundry the same day but a few of the clothes were damp. beds were clean and comfy, breakfast wasn't spectacular but having been included and open until 10:00 I can't complain. staff was helpful and the location is great at just a few minutes walk from the main strip. The stay was cheap but I'd say spend the few extra bucks for a nicer place.

For the price this hostel is very good. Has plenty of clean showers, comfy beds, family style dinner etc. The downside is it isn’t the most social hostel in the area, however is in a good location to see all the sites. The price is incredible being the cheapest place in the area. Staff are lovely also.

Nice place, hard to complain for the price. Only downside is the wifi is a bit weak in the dorm rooms

loved this hostel. clean and very good. staff very very friendly and helpful (i hurted my back and needed to change my room and they just put my stuff from the old to the new room). its not a party hostel but social.

Best hostel I've stayed in Vietnam. the value here is incredible. Decent breakfast and comfortable beds/rooms. Good ac and wifi. family dinner was also great. The location is perfect as it's just away from the noise of the main road. huge we'll maintained pool. The family who runs this place are just amazing. a huge thank you to Pinky for being so friendly and helpful. You gave me a home and made me feel like family. because the place is super chill out also attracts really great people. Thanks!

It was a nice stay but considering all the people that were there it didn’t seem social in my experience.

This hostel is beautiful! The entire property, the pool, and the rooms are all very nice and clean. I highly recommend it.

Great value and a must stay if traveling on a budget

I had a fantastic stay at gecko backpackers hostel. The private room was really nice with comfortable beds. The swimming pool was definitely a highlight and the staff was super friendly. I am really happy that I stayed here!

Lovely relaxed hostel - good breakfast too!

Great place; clean with big beds and helpful staff; there was no internet in the rooms but other than that everything was great!
