Ringos Foyer Guest House and Hostel

We had booked to stay here for a few nights and escaped after one. Genuinely the most unclean hostel we’ve stayed in, it made my skin itch. Aircon was rationed (which is fair enough) but one unit in a large capsule dorm room is no way near enough. Location was good enough, and I think if we hadn’t been there at lunar new year there would have been more going on.

By far the most disgusting hostel I’ve stayed at. General cleanliness was poor, but also one of the two toilets for use on the second floor was leaking from the bowl, I.e. piss and poo water onto the floor. Bed sheets and pillow cases looked dirty, there were old contact lenses left in the bedroom. My temporary army accommodation in the middle of the desert during a war was cleaner.

Been traveling to Malaysia for a month and it's definitely the dirtiest hostel.If you don't mind dust around your matress, stains on the sheets bad pillow is bad, smelly bed cover GO FOR IT. In the morning for my check out, there were ants everywhere in my pod.The building is amazing but not taken care of.I checked the bikes and they are not even in good shape. You can get better on for the same price with local renter.I've never been so happy to do a check out and go no my next hostel.

Vies, smerig hostel. Nog niet eerder in zo’n vies hostel gezeten. Schoonmaak op aanvraag. Lichtknopjes zwart, smerige douche putjes. Overal kleine insecten die op de smerigheid afkomen.

I booked this hostel because of its 9.3 rating on Hostelworld, but it did not reflect my experience at all. When I arrived, I was quite shocked by the run-down condition, the lack of cleanliness, the very thin mattress, and the poor state of the bathroom. There was visible dirt on the bed. The volunteer was very kind, but I had to leave the same evening and book another place, which meant extra expenses. I requested a refund but have not received any response.

not much of a social vibe going on but its an affordable hostel if youre in melaka too see the town

Super gezellig en goede sfeer, maar erg vies en onhygiënisch!

The hostel is very well located and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, the hostel was rather tired and quite dirty. The dormitory was nicer than the private rooms but the bathrooms and communal spaces could do with being updated.

The people working there were all super nice and accomodating but unfortunately it just wasn’t clean, there was no toilet paper and everything including the mattress was very old. Would definitely not recommend:/

This place is dirt cheap and that's really all it has going for it. The mattress I slept on was absolutely horrific, couldn't have been more than 3mm between myself and the wood floor of the bunk bed cubbyhole. Very poor social atmosphere.

Howard is the best!!! He is so welcoming and always down to have a chat with you! The volunteers were also very friendly! I got a really great price for a single room too. The rooftop was a great vibe! And it was always easy to find someone to talk to. I do feel that new bedsheets are needed, and bathroom did have some mould in it too.

It’s a really cool place - a little rough around the edges but the owner and the volunteers are great people!! There’s an activity posted everyday in the group chat. Definitely visit during the weekends for the night market. It kinda felt like Pai here in a way. You could spend a whole week here if you have the time. I plan to come back someday

Very good hostel, staff were really approachable, polite. And the place its self was very spacious. Had a roof top bar to chill views was good. Only slight issue was the showers was a little dirty and had a whole in the roof that should have been fixed before anyone came in. Safety really. But the staff were really helpful especially helping me book my bus journey really appreciated that so thank you. Would definitely recommend this place though 100 percent.

Groovy hostel in a great location. Beds were nice and the bathrooms were clean. Also the rooftop is a chill place to chill

the bed could use an upgrade. theres a rooftop if you want to be social and meet cool people and share stories

Super hostel, le dortoir est très agréable. Un rooftop de qualité. Des activités sont proposées par l'auberge, donc pas mal pour rencontrer des gens !

Ostello ben organizzato e abbastanza sociale! Bellissima terrazza per riposarsi un po! Da rivedere solamente leggermente la pulizia degli spazi comuni!

Excellent location with friendly and helpful staff! I might have got unlucky but my bed capsule wasn’t very clean but would stay again if I was back :)

It‘s a perfect mixture between social and chill. The staff organizes really great day / night events. The rooftop is amazing. The location is perfect, close to everything but quiet at night. They offer free water and coffee. I really like that you have to leave your shoes/flipflops at the entrance and be barefoot in the hostel. it offers everything you need. It’s clean, has enough toilets and a good vibe. I would definitely come back

super schöne, soziale und familiäre atmosphäre. Ich hatte direkt vor dem Hostel einen Unfall und alle vom Hostel haben sich super lieb um mich gekümmert und mir ins Kh geholfen. Das Hostel ist sehr zentral und die Dachterrasse ist so schön zum entspannen oder zum Kontakte knüpfen. Komme super gerne wieder und empfehle ich jedem, der/die nach Melaka möchte 🩷

This is a nice social hostel, with a very chill vibe. the rooftop is a nice place to hangout. as the other reviews say, its no frills really but very cheap. the shoe storage area smells really bad all day and the AC barely works at night in the dorm

Absolutely loved my stay here!! Everyone is kind, social and welcoming. The facilities are old (as is the building) but they are clean! Plenty of spaces to socialise, relax or chill!! Mini fans in each bed would be a fantastic addition!

Location is very good close to old town. Atmosphere is good easy to make friend. Very nice rooftop space for hangout. Staff and owner is super friendly. Bed is a bit outdated, cleaness need to be improved. Found hair and stain on bed sheet at the time I checked in apparently the cleaner didn’t clean it. Other than that everything is good.

Very good. Clean and a nice social hostel with great recommendations about what to do in and around Melakka.
