+ Communal area to sit and kitchen clean, bed clean.
- Heating cranked up so high feels like the tropics, this led to girls in dorm opening window and street noise with drunk people all night, hostel generally noisy especially in night with drunk people. Couldn’t use toilet in en suite dorm as girls in and out all night - also slamming door. Went to toilet in corridor where drunk lads had clearly peed on floor as missed toilet. Led to terrible nights sleep.
+ Good place.
- Terrible staff and management.
+ It was fairly clean.
- Incredibly loud people in the hallway screaming all night. Felt unsafe in my room and left early
+ Nothing.
- Unpleasant staff.
+ Staff was unprofessional They didn't allow me to do my laundry Though they allowed all my friends after meeee
- Don't go there
+ unfortunately they don't know how to treat a customer, they broke my lock without my consent, they removed my things from the room where I was staying without telling me, and I was already paying in advance and they even stole my things, I went to complain to reception about the What happened, they still treat me badly as if I was right. first and last time in this. place, I'm outraged, paying to stay in the place and still being robbed by the employees themselves, for God's sake horrible, uncomfortable hard bed Horrible, paying to sleep on the iron, I'll practically never go back.🧐😤😫

+ Location
- The guy at reception was rude on arrival and throughout. Who knows the last time the property was cleaned. Although it was very cheap, that shouldn’t be a compromise for basic hygiene!
+ Location
- I have reached out to this hostel looking for a partial refund following a mix up with my booking. I have not received a response. The staff that were on duty at the time were very abrupt and unapologetic.
+ Free wifi.
- Despite having explained my physical issues (a broken back, serious traumatic brain injury (TBI) which causes exhaustion seizures) and my financial position (social disability) I was moved from one room to another every morning, which is really unsettling, packing all your things up and somehow getting showered when there are queues of people lined up for a shower. It also means checking out at 10 or 11am (checkout time) and then sitting in the street until 3pm until you can check back in again. I was told I could sit in the lobby, where they are blasting objectively insufferable music (George Micheals, I think). Then on what would have been my second last night of my 5-6 day stay, I explained that I would be getting paid after 7pm. Tears in my eyes, they said there was nothing they could do for me, (common decency, not applicable?) so I sat outside like a homeless person with my luggage, waiting until 7pm. (Yes, I did avail of your 'luggage storage' until my meds went missing). By the time I got paid, there were no beds left. Unfortunately, I can envision the head of staff giving those at the desk guff about this review, so let me clarify, they were actually lovely, without fail, 'just following orders'. Their presumed boss who sat in an office behind them did come out once, but only to say 'and whats your name' giving me a stern look, like he was speaking to some hardened criminal, with an air of doubt and suspicion. Really lovely way to treat your fellow countryman. Did I mention that some rooms are 30c+ at night because the windows only open wide enough to fit your index finger out? It's hard enough to get to sleep with another 7-11 persons in your room, but that's hostel life, I get it! But without oxygen? Impossible. I've been to 43 countries and probably 10 times that number of hostels, this was a world first for me.
+ Breakfast was fine. The bunk beds were comfortable enough although the environment was cramped. There were no wardrobes for clothing.
- Snoring of some people making rest impossible. When I raised my concern to Jessica, the Manager, she had no complaint form. Then the way she handled the situation was appalling eg she was condescending saying I didn't seem happy, that no one else complained, blaming the victim. I asked to move to another room. It was a mixed dormitory and someone snored there too. One of the ladies in the dormitory told me she wasn't surprised I asked to move because of the snoring. I ended up having to stay in the original dormitory with 2 snorers. All the guests including the snorers were pleasant, polite ladies. Sadly, Snorers and Sleep for others are incompatible.

Auberge de jeunesse super ! Très bien placé a galway !
Great place to stay at! Super friendly staff that answered all my questions. Was very clean, and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning. 10/10 recommend.
Everything was great. I felt really safe, the woman’s bathrooms were always clean and spacious, and The beds were nice. The location was also perfect. Close to popular areas and the bus/train stations. Only thing is the atmosphere felt more like a hotel. A bit harder to meet travellers in the common room.
Amazing hostel! Staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Beds were nice and comfortable, there are privacy curtains and two plugs and a light at every bed plus lockers to store your luggage. Bathroom’s were also nice and clean.
Todo de 10. No hay ninguna queja. Literas cómodas, habitación nueva. Detalles como fruta o té todo el día marcan la diferencia. Luggage Room y uso de las zonas comunes después del checkout. Han hecho mi estancia perfecta. Gracias.
One of the best city hostels I’ve ever stayed at! Extremely clean, friendly staff, good facilities (free breakfast, tea/coffee/fruit whenever you want) and comfy beds. Understandable how they won lots of awards.
Great hostel, great vibes, clean & quiet facilities. Would absolutely stay here again.
Loved it. Great location. Great atmosphere. Super friendly staff members! Would most definitely stay here again!
Couldn't really ask for anything more, deserves the positive praise it gets. Good breakfast options and solid Wi-Fi even in the rooms. Very handy having tours that depart from the hostel and the staff offer good recommendations. Bathrooms/showers are also very well maintained.
Great and friendly place to stay
Kinlay Hostel was excellent - I felt very safe, everything was very clean, and breakfast/towels were included in your fee. Everybody was lovely - I wish I had planned a longer stay!
Had a wonderful stay here. Enjoyed the free breakfast, room was clean as was the shower, felt very safe with security, and staff was very helpful.
Great breakfast!
The property is in an amazing location to enjoy the area. It gets a bit crazy around meal times with all the people trying to cook meals, I didn’t do that because there were plenty of places around there to eat. The beds were comfortable, belongings safe. The bathrooms were ok, showers never really got beyond luke warm and didn’t have much in the way of being able to hang clothing. I’d be happy to stay here again!
I had a nice stay. The breakfast was okay. I'd stay there again.
staff was super friendly, breakfast was really top notch (cereals, porridge, jams, scones, soda bread, cheese) and the location was very central. I was in a 6 persons mixed dorm and felt very safe. The bathroom was clean at all times and for a hostel this size I was amazed at how quiet it was even when there was live music in the common area one evening - nothing to be heard in my room apart from the seagulls outside. Can only recommend, I stayed for 4 nights and would definitely book again!

+ Comfortabke beds, privacy screens and free coffee. Good cooking facilites
- Its very expensive for a bed in a shared dorm, particularly when there is less demand and rooms are empty, i would stay more often if it costed 50 euro a night. The bathroom facilities are celan but for the amout of people theres not very much bathroom stalls or a urinal so you can be left waiting for 10-30 monutes in the morning to relieve yourself. Any towels or other thibgs cost extra, which one woulld expect from a place with a cheap bed but bir such and expensive place
+ This was our first hostel stay and it was excellent! Comfy, clean and welcoming staff. We would definitely stay again!
