Er inky stayed one night luckily. We booked the double room, which was right outside by the outside common area. Firstly it was so loud on the evening there as people sat right outside talking. Secondly the window in our room didn’t close. In general the room wasn’t very nice. It was very run down and so small and to top it all, we had a hair on our bed sheet. This is the worst hostel I have ever stayed at! As soon as I walked in, the owner was moody and disorganised. The whole hostel was dirty, incredibly messy and full of the ‘long-termers’ thing. EVERYONE here is living here long term on WHV and they made it very clear they didn’t want to socialise. It was a very rude and hostile environment. The girls in my room treated it like their own bedroom, even leaving their used sanitary products by my things. I checked out 2 days early. Never again!...

Clean and easy to get in and out of town. Very odd interaction with a girl I presume was volunteering there. We didn’t meet the owner until the following day and he seemed nice and helpful. Unfortunately didn’t feel like a sociable place and some girls were actually quite unapproachable (probably already formed a clique) which was a shame. Some were nice. Bathrooms were clean and tidy. We were on the lower floor and had people literally running past our room and down the stairs all hours.

Very laissez-faire hostel with minimal staff interaction. They weren’t even there to show me my room at a normal check in time, just gotta grab the key and go. Lots of long term stayers here so it is a more relaxed vibe.

Very clean (and well equipped) kitchen and bathrooms, however this is mainly a party hostels for people staying long term. My room was unfortunately at the front so it was very loud when big groups of 15-20 people would drink on the terrace until 11 pm, and then again at around 3 am when the pubs/clubs closed but they wanted to continue partying. I wouldn’t recommend it for people just travelling through NZ, it’s definitely geared towards people staying long term

Hostel is clean, small kitchen, lot of long term residents which made the atmospjere a bit different. and I was there on the weekend when a big group went out to party and started making a lot of noise. No one came to ask them to quiet down. No staff on the premises apparently

Really cute and cozy hostel! The rooms lack space but for someone like me who was only staying two nights it didn’t matter. Bathrooms were really nice and clean. The only thing I will say is that the long termers rly takeover the hostel. There’s only one table to eat at and they were always sitting there talking and taking up the entire table. There’s tables outside but it was raining when I was there. Kitchen was also always pretty filthy.

Nice hostel, it is clean, nice kitchen area etc. please be aware there is a LOT of long termers here, so it’s quite difficult to fit in unless you find some backpackers

This hostel was disappointing. Owners are absent and when about the man seemed grumpy. Door wouldn't close to my room so there was no security and my locker number didn't seem to exist in the hallway. Filled with light ng-terners getting drunk every night and taking over all corners of the dorm. Unwelcoming feel (the "you must leave by 10am or else" signs certainly added to this). The kitchen was clean.

Great place to relax. The owners are great hosts and very fun.

Clean, comfy, the owners are lovely people and a great social atmosphere when I stayed here. I will definitely stay here again if I’m in back in Wellington!

I really loved my stay here. The bed was really comfy but the room wasn't spacious. The kitchen and bathroom was really clean and the hostel had a nice atmosphere. The host was super friendly and even offered me the big bottom bed when I didn't get it at the Check-in because I was staying longer than the other guests. Would definitly come again.

Great hostel overall, very centrally located.

They were very communicative, and we had no problems checking in (even though our ferry got in late and we didn’t arrive until after 1am). My friends and I booked 3 beds in a 6-bed mixed dorms, but we were given a 3-bed dorm to ourselves which was a nice surprise. The shower was great, the bathrooms were clean, there was easy street parking near by. No complaints here.

I stayed at a place for three days, and overall it was great for the price. The bed was all good. it was like a bunk bed, so the person below me moved a bit, but it was fine. There was a fully equipped kitchen, a table for eating, and a nice shared space where I could hang out with the other guests. there were coaches, so we could watch a movie together. I really liked the location; it was super close to the main street, and I even walked around at night, like 10 p.m. on a friday.

Reallly just a spectacular hostel with tons of character, authenticity, comfy, and homey. Some cool sayings on the walls and stuff too. Highly suggested

A lot of long termers so that made it a little less social for newcomers sometimes, but in the end I had a great time! Best/cleanest bathrooms I’ve had so far.

Nous ne sommes finalement restés que quelques heures car notre ferry a été avancé, mais nous avons pu bien nous reposer. Les douches sont un peu petites et peu pratiques, le lit est confortable en chambre double. L'auberge est sur les hauteurs de Christchurch : ça grimpe !

I really appreciate what this hostel is trying to do, but it was not for me, and I’m going to explain why! Firstly, when I arrived I was happy to have been given the code and my key left for me inside. However, once I arrived in the room, I noticed it had a smell, and there was no room for my things. There were some longer term stays in there, and they used up all of the space. The bathrooms are nice, and cleaned daily which is great. The front door was often left open by people staying.

I really liked this hostel. Location wasn't the best for parking but also the paymypark app was down while I visited so that might've just been a me problem. The hostel though was great, Wendy was an absolute peach. She takes good care of her guests and her hostel and it shows. A lot of longer term guests stay here as well and they agreed. If I had more time in wellington I would've stayed here longer.

Sehr schönes, sauberes und gemütliches Hostel. Wolfühlatmosphäre garantiert! Die Lage ist ebenfalls sehr gut und die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Ich wünschte mir manchmal, im Zimmer etwas mehr Platz/Stauraum für das Gepäck zu haben. Auch hatten die oberen Betten keine kleine Ablagemöglichkeit.

I loved my stay there despite facilities were too « simple » for me. No shampoo/soap in the bathrooms. No curtains/plugs in beds… BUT the common areas were great ! Meeting people at Worlwide is so easy and I met a lot of friends there !
