Le Couvent Hostel

This trip was not what I was expecting it to be, the hostel itself is modern and well designed. However, a few things that made this trip not great and what would make me not book again is 1. No bath mats in the bathrooms 2. No soap dispenser in the bedroom bathroom?? 3. They claim they have ‘luggage stroage’ but when we checked out early at 10AM no one was even in the hostel downstairs it was all locked! Tuvimos mal servicio desde la llegada, la persona que nos atendió nos dijo que no había camas (el hostel estaba vacío), nos hizo esperar y nos habló mal. Esa noche había una fiesta privada y no se nos avisó, hubo ruido hasta las 2am (parecía que hubiese una discoteca en nuestra habitación). Precio alto por una habitaci´´on compartida mixta para 6 personas, que no incluye ni toallas ni gel/champú.

My room was extremely stuffy at night as the AC was broken and the window opened to an outdoor bar area in which people were loudly talking. The second night the hostel hosted a band and then a DJ set in that same courtyard from the hours of 9 PM - 1:30 AM. I could barely hear what my roommates were saying, let alone sleep. For a bar that hosts live music this is a great place to go, for a hostel it's awful and you should stay away.

Not great. Didn’t feel safe. Woken up at 3am by a roommate making a racket and shouting to himself. Then checked and he has stolen my jacket so I had to chase him down to get it back. Room smelt like BO

It was okay, but there was really no atmosphere and the people inside my room were also strange. Even though the bed was comfy and the location was close to the train station

Es ist. Eine Frechheit, dass es in dem Hostel keine Küche und keinen anderen konsumfreien Gemeinschaftsraum gibt - das gehört als Standard zu einem Hostel dazu, so geht der Charm verloren! Es gibt keine Möglichkeit, etwas zu kochen, nicht einmal eine Mikrowelle oder heißes Wasser! So wird man gezwungen Geld in der zum Hostel dazugehörigen Bar auszugeben, da habe ich natürlich nicht mitgemacht. Schwach ist auch, dass es auf den Zimmern keine Seife & keine Handtücher gibt. basing from pics and description, I expected some gothic, ancient building, but the vibe of the place dod not match my expectations at all: apart from the courtyard (that you can see in the pictures that fooled me), the rest is pretty basic. Also no common room nor kitchen for guests. I dont think its worth the money. but the staff was kind.

When we booked we weren't told that there was a private party in the Hostel that night, this meant we would not have access to the quiet spaces advertised the only place to go was the bedroom. The music was far too loud and the disco is directly below the rooms. The music went on until 2am meaning neither of us got much sleep that night! If the hostel is being used for functions this needs to be clear on the app. Very disappointed for what looked like such a fabulous venue!

A few simple changes would make this much nicer to stay at- There are no curtains, bedside lamps, or bedside shelves/tables meaning it’s very difficult to read/charge devices/if you wear glasses. And when many guests are hikers who go to sleep at like 8pm, this makes it somewhere awkward to have main lights on etc. If you arrive after this. While I was there the bar and restaurant was completely dead, but assume just because off season, and I couldn’t see anywhere to refill water bottle...

Sehr sauberes Hostel. Gut für eine Übernachtung. Aber ansonsten sehr leer und wenig Flair.

Great hostel. Helpful staff. They were able to accommodate and store my bike safely. Only feedback was that they automatically lights turned off too quickly in the showers, which was a bit annoying.

war super schön und ich hab obwohl ich ein vierbettzimmer gebucht hatte ein einzelzimmer bekommen, also sehr stark :)

Kind staff, I think March isn’t a popular time to visit so not many people around but still a nice space and good location.

Very nice hostel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. One of the young guys even brought my luggage to the room!

The staff was great. Because of bad weather I was unable to reach the hostel until well after checkin. A staff member waited and was understanding and friendly when I finally arrived. Just great service, location, and clean well maintained room. This is one I can really recommend.

Auberge très facile à trouver. Chambres propres, lits confortables mais qui manquent d’une lumière individuelle, bons rideaux occultants. Pour une auberge de jeunesse un peu “fancy” comme la personne qui m’a accueilli me l’a présenté, il manque cruellement d’une cuisine partagée. Si je vais en auberge, ce n’est pas pour dépenser mon argent dans des restos/cafés à côté deux à trois fois par jours. Manque aussi d’un petit-déjeuner. Wifi pas très fonctionnel autant...

Excelente estadía en el hostel. Instalaciones muy limpias y cómodas. Nos recibió Sarita, que ha sido muy amable y amorosa a nuestra llegada, asesorándonos acerca de qué hacer en Carcassone, además de estar muy atenta a nuestras necesidades durante la estadía.

Very nice hostel with a strategic location very clean and comfortable and the staff are very helpful and kind tnx to sara and the gentleman at the night shift, highly recommend if u're in the town

As an Irish guy travelling solo, from the moment I walked in, Sarah was so friendly, happy, and genuinely welcoming. She immediately made me feel at home after a long travel day. She was incredibly helpful with local tips, explained everything clearly, and created such a positive atmosphere every time I saw her. It makes a huge difference when someone brings that kind of energy to a hostel, and she really set the tone for my whole stay. Le Couvent is a fantastic stay! Highly recommended!

Only stayed for one night, so didn’t get to know the hostel much. But the staff was kind and helpful, rooms was clean with nothing to complain about. :) Would definitely stay here again.

Sara made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived at Le Couvent! She was really helpful and I felt very safe staying as a solo female at this hostel. The location is very central and the atmosphere was sociable and friendly. I will definitely be back, thank you!

Charming hostel with a lovely manager. The rooftop is nice (great views of the church), the beds have curtains and the building is itself beautiful. The only downsides were the lack of traditional hostel facilities like a kitchen/lounge.

Perfect accomodation for stay during cycle tour Canale du Midi. Also hotel is near the center of the city

From the moment you walk in Little Sarah is there to check you in and get you fully sorted for your trip to the city . She is so kind and will help with anything you may need . Fantastic hostel and very very well located close to everything you need .

Esta a 25 minutos andando a/desde la citadel. Las habitaciones estan muy bien, cads cama con su locker, aire acondicionado y la mia tenia ducha. Muy buena zona comun con bar y terraza. No tiene cocina pero si un supermercado carredour muy cerca y restaurantes y street food. Volveria sin dudarlo!

Pas de cuisine ni de laverie, dommage pour une auberge de jeunesse. Restaurant en travaux inaccessible sans que tu cela ait été mentionné au moment de la de réservation. Pas de compensation.

Schon gut. Habe einige interessante Leute kennengelernt:)
