The receptionist asked me to give him my bank credit account as a deposit in case I break the key of the room or otherwise he will call the police and of course, I refused. Then I told him that I will not use the room and I will stay at the reception but he refused and ordered me to go out in the middle of the night though I had to catch my connecting flight in the early morning and he refused to refund me. Is this ethical or courteous? Is it the way Safestay treat his customers. Where's the 21sr century civilisation!!! Does booking.com approve of this unfair and bitter behaviour of Safestay's receptionist?

- Apparentemente accogliente solo il bar all'ingresso, per salire sopra quarto piano l'ascensore era guasta. Una volta entrati in camera c'era una gran puzza di fogna, non c'era una mensolina non c'era un mobiletto o un comodino dove poter appoggiare cellulare chiavi occhiali. Asciugamani a pagamento il secondo giorno. Neanche l'appendino per l'asciugamano in bagno mancava anche di un lume o una luce per la notte e avendo due bambini abbiamo dormito con la luce accesa. La cosa veramente terribile è stata la puzza che non ci ha fatto dormire tutta la notte.

We booked a 6-bed dormitory and arrived with my 14-year-old son. Check-in was completed without any issue. Only after we had settled in did a receptionist inform us that our son could not stay in a shared dormitory due to the under-18 policy — something we were never told at the time of booking or at check-in. Très bien. Simple et efficace
Hostel was clean. Location is noisy (train station and traffic). There was a big group of school kids which were noisy but that can’t be helped. Staff are friendly. Only downside is no kitchen & water refill but staff happy to fill up bottle. Food average price. Room of 4 was big. Being a big padlock and not a wire one otherwise it won’t work. Bathroom clean. Locks to doors noisy & key card would be better than key.
Auberge sympa et propre, personnel très gentil. Le plus gros point négatif est le bruit de dehors qu'on entend fort de l'intérieur (le passage du train faisait même trembler le lit).
Was ok! Location is great for the station but is a bit far from the town centre. Check in was a bit slow as there was only 1 person able to do it at a time. Toilet and room were fine but on the old side. Nice atmosphere thanks to onsite bar.
It looks good in theory but it’s pretty basic and they really make you pay for everything. The amenities are very basic (no curtains around the beds, no shelf, no shampoo or shower gel or even a little shelf for products in the shower,…) Any little extra or service comes at a charge no matter if its a small favor or if you’re discontent with something, there doesnt seem to be any flexibility. I had a very comfortable stay at Safestay. I enjoyed the location close to the station. Was annoyed at the thin mattresses when I arrived, but I had two good nights of sleep so I have to take that back! The bathroom was very spaceous. Where the hostel falls short would be 1) the key system, or lack thereof. Dormrooms require manual locking and unlocking, the door doesn't close after you. This results in forgetful dormmates leaving the dorm accessible to anyone. More than once was I able to acce...
This is the worst bed I've ever slept on (and that's including camping). The mattress was just slightly shorter than the bed frame, so I nearly fell through trying to get into my top bunk the first time. I was able to switch which end I slept on so that at least wasn't an issue, but the mattress itself was also extremely uncomfortable. No matter what position I was in, I could feel the springs digging into me. The lockers are also too narrow for most suitcases and bigger backpacks.
My first time staying at a hostel abroad!! And I had no need to worry. The hostel was fantastic, very helpful, friendly staff, clean room, perfect location. Would highly recommend and come back again. thank you for a fabulous stay

primero que nada todos los días vienen a limpiar las habitaciones lo cual está buenísimo. lo que no me gustó fue que todo en el Hostel te lo cobraban y con tarjeta, particularmente yo viaje con más efectivo que dinero en tarjeta asique al no tener cocina y que no te dejaban calentar comida en el microondas se me complicó el tema alimentación. y otro tema. la habitación no se podía cerrar con llave de adentro por lo que a la noche todas las habitaciones estaban sin llave y me pareció mu...
First of all, every day they come to clean the rooms which is buenoísimo. what I didn't like was that everything in the Hostel they charged you and by card, particularly I travel with more cash than card money as I don't have a kitchen and they didn't let you heat food in the microwave if I was complicated by the food issue. and another issue. the room couldn't be locked with a key from the inside so at night all the rooms were unlocked and it seemed very unsafe to me
I paid to extend for extra night, but not only they told me I must check out at 11 and check back in at 3pm, they also told me I must pay 3 euros so they keep my bags for these 4 hours between the bookings. Even though I'm staying another night with them! Besides that, the lady at the reception was hostile and unwelcoming.

Very nice and clean hostel. Super friendly and helpful staff especially Ruta. Loved there was an elevator but unfortunately no curtains, however I bring my own solution. Would absolutely recommend it and easy walk from Pisa Centrale. A bit further to the tower, but manageable and you could take a bus.
I could not enter the room because it smelled so shity and the bathroom was dirty and had hair everywhere in the shower
Abbiamo perso più di un ora perché la reception non trovava la nostra prenotazione, pur facendogli vedere lo screenshot con tutti i dati da parte di hostelworld la loro proposta era di ripagare la stanza, avevamo anche chiesto alla struttura di poter parlare con la persona che aveva prenotato ma si sono rifiutati, non è bastato nemmeno fargli vedere la fattura, assistenza pari a zero. Paghi anche gli asciugamani…..non mi era mai capitato.
We lost more than an hour because the receptionist couldn't find our reservation, even though we showed them the screenshot with all the data from hostelworld their proposal was to repay the room, we had also asked the property to be able to talk to the person who had booked but if they were refused, it wasn't enough even to let them see the bill, service was zero.
- only hot water in shower- couldn’t turn the cold water part on. - No place to hang anything or to put your bag/s and lockers are on the smaller side - Food decent- server didn’t seem to like whej I asked for things or change things on the burger - but not the end of the world - Can hear things all night - train and other ppl - My bed didn’t make noise but not too comfy
