Casa Janaab Palenque

This was a great stay for two days. The staff were always helpful, the location was 2 minutes away from the bus station and 8 minutes from the main area. We were slightly concerned about the bed bugs reviews from a few months ago, however, this is not the case anymore and the hostel have taking steps to prevent it from happening again. Atmosphere was q which was expected, good jacuzzi pool and there is also a pool table. Finally, you can BYOB into the hostel.

Didn't have any problems with bed bugs, large lockers, AC, clean, social, they even have a bidet, great location

No issue with bed bugs when I was here November 2023. Staff takes it seriously so I hope they continue to do so. Towel was provided and that was nice. Honestly, just a nice place to rest my head for 2 nights in Palenque. The only feedback I have is to add hooks to hang towels and to ensure people take all their stuff so that there isn't abandoned stuff laying around. Otherwise, I recommend. No tenia problemas con chinches cuando estaba allá en Noviembre 2023. Los empleos son serios de esta tema y espero que ellos continuen a asegurar que todo esta bien. Se proporcianó toalla cual fue bien. Lo recomiendo. El único comentario que tengo es añadir ganchos para colgar toallas y para asegurar que las personas no abandonan sus cosas.

Heard that there are bed bugs in the dorm, watch out!

Don’t stay here this hostel has bed bugs!!! Definitely an issue that this hostel has as people have previously reported bed bugs here they clearly have not dealt with the issue. We only stayed here one night and were both bitten. I would avoid staying here at all costs.

We loved this hostel. Had seen recent reviews warning of bed bugs, but we experienced none and we saw them going to great lengths to decontaminate mattresses when guests left. Aircon in rooms was fantastic. Friendly vibe but not one necessarily geared towards socialising. Couldn't work out the bubbles on the jacuzzi (first world problems) but that would be the only thing that wasn't perfect. Highly highly recommend!

El hostel está muy bien pero hay un problema con chinches de cama. Siento decirlo pero es así. He vuelto de mi viaje con múltiples picaduras y una de ellas se ha infectado gravemente y estoy tomando antibiótico. Ya he leído de varias personas que han dejado comentarios sobre chinches de cama en este hostel así que no creo que las hayamos traído de la selva. Mis amigos que estuvieron en la selva conmigo no las han tenido (ellos no estuvieron después en este hostel). Al día siguiente de salir de este hostel empezaron las picaduras, antes no. Quizás hace tiempo alguien trajo estos chinches de la selva, pero el caso es que ya están aquí y algo tendrán que hacer para solucionarlo. No me parece bien que digan que siempre las traemos nosotros. Aparte de eso, el hostel me parece muy limpio, muy bien equipado y agradable. Una cosa no quita la otra. Tan sólo solucionen este problema y todo está bien.

Bed bugs! Unfortunately the place has bed bugs in multiple rooms. Apparently they have been having issues with them for a while. Even though the did apparently fumigate, it's clearly not working 100% and the blame is placed on backpackers brining their bags into rooms. I'm no expert on bed bugs, but I imagine it's a underlying issue at the hostel and not because of backpackers brining their bag into rooms. It's uncomfortable for staff and guested so I hope it gets solved. But for now, I cannot recommend anyone to stay here because the bed bugs will just spread more.

Achtung BETTWANZEN / BED BUGS!! Haben in unserem Dorm Bettwanzen gehabt und daraufhin das Zimmer gewechselt, was wiederum auch Bettwanzen hatte. Mussten die Nacht außerhalb schlafen. Dagegen wurde nichts hilfreiches unternommen, nur die Matratzen mit irgendeinem Mittel besprüht, also aufpassen! Ansonsten sehr nettes Personal und top Lage.

BED BUGS (Reconsider you stay here) I checked in to this establishment on January 25th. It wasn't until the evening when I was turning in for bed that I noticed something crawling over my body. At first I brushed them off and thought nothing of it until. I turned on the lights and saw to my dismay a number of bed bugs on me and on the bed. The facts: * I alerted the staff to the presence of bed bugs. They confirmed that they were present. * The bunk above me also had bed bugs. * They offered me a stay at another room, but I did not find the offer tempting as I was disgusted by the presence of them in the first place. * The following day, they moved everyone out of the room I was staying in but it is unclear whether they told them it was bed bug related. * I asked for a refund as I did not feel comfortable staying there. They said it was not refundable and that these incidents are not uncommon. I'm very disappointed and disgusted by my stay here. If you are considering staying here, please reconsider. You run the risk of being bit by bed bugs but also spreading them to other places and possibly your home.
