The dorm was terrible. After a long day hiking in Nara, I booked two nights but barely slept. The bunks are so creaky that every move from the person above kept me awake, even with earplugs. Guests were up all night eating in bunks, doing makeup at the vanities, and coming and going until morning. They gave the impression they may have been escorts, which was unsettling. I left after one night, losing money but saving my sanity. Every bad review is true - this place is awful.
so bad i left after one night even though i paid for 5(i’ve been to many hostels and this one was so so bad)
Management is awful. If you have a dispute or issue they will not help you. They also are completely fine ripping people off. I stayed three weeks and somehow it was almost double the price of a full month stay??? I didn’t expect a refund or anything but asked if they could accommodate me with a discount if I came back. The manager offered me free detergent and towels (value of 50-100 yen for the 40,000 yen overpay). Oh word?
The hotel was in a good convenient location in term of Tennoji station and getting places in Osaka. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. However this is not the hostel for you if you are solo backpacking and want a social vibe. Majority of guests are family’s with small children or older travelers looking for a laid back scene. The only available water for filling up bottles too was a very small brita filter.
We found BED BUGS in one of our two beds in our first night there. I moved to the bed of my boyfriend for that night because nobody was available at the reception. In the next morning the staff was really helpful and washed our clothes but then we received an E-Mail that we have to leave the hostel! Even if there were still rooms available on the Website. So we had to find a new hostel. It was very sad that they treated us like that and only gave us the refund back after I insisted on that.
I understand the private room is "traditional", but the futon was not that comfortable + no headboard for the pillows and they were hard. Location is fine about a 10 minute walk from the Tenojji station which gets you pretty much everywhere you need to be. Windows have no shades so the sun scorches you at 6am. Staff was super anal about not letting us check in before 4pm even though we got there just two hours earlier. Just be accommodating and make your tired guests happy. 3.5 stars. Clean.
Very clean hostel, but the wifi situation was very bad.
the vibe was a bit strange as it was mainly middle aged men so more for people who are working remotely I guess. I was in the mixed dorm which again was full of middle aged/older men so felt a bit uncomfortable being the only female. Also didn't like the fact the the bathroom, sinks and shower were all in the room so was rather noisy in the morning. For the price it was okay for one night but definitely wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay if you're looking to socialise
The check-in process was a misery. The front staff should make an effort to ensure their customers have the various codes needed to enter the premises after 11pm. The lockers were also abysmally small. I might be mistaken, but I believe the prices advertised in the hostel were cheaper than what I had to pay through the website. Rather stay in Namba Guesthouse Hive and book on Trip.com

Beautiful hostel & such good value for money. It was immaculately clean, had an outdoor footbath, and friendly staff. Not the most central, but only a short walk from the nearest station! I loved it here, and as a solo female traveller felt entirely safe.
nice, tidy and clean with a big private bed and storage options. Near Tennoji trainstation which is convenient when coming from the airport, a bit far from the city centre but doable with public transport. however no social atmosphere.
great place, especially the staff was really friendly. 10/10
lovely place with heated foot bath. beds comfy and private and staff super friendly!
Super endroit, on a vraiment avec ma conjointe. La Chambre était propre et spacieuse :)
Nice hostel, very clean and organized, staff were very welcoming, & location was great. Right near train station so it’s very convenient to get around. Hostel has everything from washer/dryer, kitchen, dining area, and common areas to lounge and relax. I will definitely be back again in the near future.
As a solo traveler, id say that this is very family centric hostel. A bit far from the center and 11mins away walk from the Tennoji station. If you’re bringing your family, this would be good for you. Also good for solo travelers who doesnt like to be bothered. Bathroom is inside the room, but its noise proof, so couldnt hear a thing but if you’re a light sleeper, definitely a headache - get some earplugs.
Amazing stat. It’s a hostel inside a hotel so not social. Close to the metro station. Beds are super comfy
Great place with some lovely staff. Would visit again!
Ostello molto accogliente, spazioso e curato.
One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. Very clean, quiet, and comfortable with comfy beds and plenty of room for your stuff. Very secure and helpful staff as well.
I'll admit I didn't get to spend a lot of time using the amenities at this location, but from what I saw the atmosphere was conducive for hanging out or getting some work done. The rooms were well-maintained. I will say the lockers are a bit small, but it is not much of an issue since you can store your items under the beds. It's not super close to the main attractions in Osaka, but not far from the train so not an issue. I would stay here again!
The property was good but my least favorite of five places I stayed in Japan. My bunk bed was the least sturdy of all the beds as most places I stayed were a built in box style and this was more open with a curtain around the entire thing.
I enjoyed spending several nights at Cogo Tennogi. The bed and room was comfortable and clean. An outlet, light, shelf and curtain was provided. Baskets were provided for toiletries and and locker for valuables. It was located a short walk from a central train station, and I had no trouble getting around. The staff was friendly and helpful. The kitchen and common areas were clean and well equipped. I would definitely stay there again.
Very clean, good location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, invited me and some others to join their celebration of 2 years anniversary also a staff members leaving party, made to feel very welcome and at home 😊
Good place to stay with hotel vibes
