no fue el mejor hostal, los empleados pareciera que viven en el mismo hostal, las camas no tienen cortinas, todo el tiempo hay mucho ruido por parte de los huéspedes y nadie los limita, se la pasan borrachos jugando en la mesa de billar hasta las 4 o 5 am, sin repercusiones. las duchas son sucias y los empleados limpian muy superficialmente. las noches que me quedé no pude dormir ninguna por todo el ruido

If hygiene and safety are things you enjoy DON’T stay here. Front door and doors to rooms are open and unlocked so anyone could walk in. Only 3 toilets for the whole place which were filthy and weren’t restocked. Showers were cold and the floors/mats were soaked our entire stay. When came time for checkout had to wait over half an hour for someone to find a payment machine which was taken off site to a bar, so we couldn’t leave when we needed too. The Hostel was good , however the owner tommy was wierd towards some female guests and made a friend of mine feel very uncomfortable. Please be safe girls!

Do not book this hostel if you’re getting into Portugal late. The reception closes at 8pm which is so unheard of for a hostel since it’s common sense travellers need to check in/ out all throughout the day. I guess it’s my fault for not checking, but out of all the places I’ve been to it’s always 24 hour reception. Hostel was not accommodating either for late check in. Do not recommend

La puerta principal quedaba abierta y se negaron a darme llave del cuarto, por lo tanto quedaba también abierta la puerta del cuarto. Y como si fuera poco, la cerradura de los cajones no funcionaba, por ende el equipaje tenía que quedar sin llave. Me pareció una inseguridad total. También, había un tubo en la ventana que impedía que se pueda cerrar, entonces la gente espiaba adentro del cuarto. Lo único bueno era la ubicación. Calidad-precio un desastre.

I would not recommend this hostel if you are a female solo traveler. I came here because a friend had a really good experience but that was not the case for me. Doors would not lock, there was not enough restrooms for the amount of people staying there, staff made inappropriate comments, hygiene was not the best and toilet paper ran out pretty fast and would not always be replaced. Would not come back.

Unfortunately one of the worst hostels I've been to. Dirty bed sheets, lockers were too small to fit a backpack in, but the doorms had no lock either, and the common area was occupied by the stuff most of the time who kept watching TV until the middle of the night.

The staff was rude and hectic.My bed was not made, I discovered it late at night.

This is a place that feels like a big family; Tommy is the owner. He's warm and friendly and tries his best to help everyone. They also have regular BBQs, making it easy to meet new friends. Highly recommended!

The staff are really nice and the owner too, but I realized that everytime they change the bedsheet, they NEVER changed the blanket covers. Also, the bins of the toilets should be bigger, it was always full (because in Portugal you can’t flush the toilet paper). Place is well located though.

The hostel was dirty. WiFi didn’t work in our room. Two working toilets for the whole hostel. No air con and the fan in the room was covered in dust. No soap in bathroom for some time. Staff very cliquey and took up the common area upstairs every night. Front door to hostel often left open and rooms didn’t have a lock so felt quite unsafe. Only plus is the location and is quite social if that’s what you’re looking for.

Such a great social hostel, the volunteers and Tommy make you feel so welcome and have great energy, they run free pub crawls!! The hostel is so clean and the beds are super comfy and have curtains. Meant to stay for 4 days, ended up extending for two weeks because it really feels like home. I never want to leave!

Die Türen der Zimmer kann man nicht abschliessen, alles andere ist in die Jahre gekommen und ziemlich dreckig. Die Leute waren cool, jedoch würde ich nicht wieder kommen.

Jeg var 4 nætter i på Macarena Beach Hostel og generelt var det et fint ophold. Et lille hyggeligt hostel med få faciliteter, men god atmosfære. Dog var der nogle ting jeg godt kunne sætte en finger på, som gjorde opholdet lidt uheldigt. Først og fremmest var hoveddøren ikke låst før sen aften, alle og enhver ville have mulighed for at kunne gå ind uden dem i receptionen ville se det, eftersom de ofte opholdte sig udenfor i fællesarealet. Fun place to stay in good location in Lagos, near to beaches and clubs. Great atmosphere. Some amenities were lacking, hardly anywhere to put your things in the shower, never any toilet paper in the mornings, no where to dry your hands. No AC in our room and it was incredibly hot, small dehumidifier did nothing. Was kept clean.

Like a second home!! I was there for 3 nights over my Birthday and it was amazing! Tommy (the host) is super friendly, he cares aboout all the guest and he even offered us all sangria and a birthday cake to celebrate my birthday!! We did two evenings pub crawls with everyone who wanted to join from the hostel and it was perfect. The hostel is really close to a bunch of cute beaches and also close to the best bars and clubs in Lagos! I can definetly recommend this hostel! Thank you so much!

Best Hostel! The Staff is amazinggg and Tommy is the best owner. I had a wonderful time. It felt like home. Apart from that, the hostel is located in the best location possible. You can reach everything in about 5min. Thank you for this great time :) Can´t wait to see you all again!

The Macarena Beach Hostel was the best hostel I have stayed at while travelling Europe. The hospitality and atmosphere while there was amazing. The owner Tommy and the volunteers like Fin made the stay even better.

Epic staff and epic stay. Highly highly recommend, super friendly, fun and social hostel. Shout out Finn and co!

The Macarena was a great hostel to stay at! The staff were lovely and there was a great close atmosphere which made the share spaces lovely to be a part of! Tommy the owner is so kind and made it a great visit, there is access to a spa and sauna out the back and a lounge area if that’s your thing! Each night groups went out with an open invite to others! What a great stay!
