In a dorm (bed 1 and 2 were booked to an old woman and her adult daughter). I was sleeping when they came at 11 pm to turn on the light and the TV and chatting with each others. I mention at 11:30 that I need to sleep then she just turned off the light but the TV still on plus she is watching a concert on her mobile and her mother watching something else. By 12 am they called somebody singing for his BD. We finished at 1 am. In the morning they opened the window while I’m still sleeping.

같은 층에 학생 단체가 묵고 있는데 매우 이른 아침부터 밤까지 매우 시끄럽다. 이에 대한 제재가 부족하고, 이전 리뷰로 미루어보건데 자주 있는 일임에도 고객에게 미리 공지하거나 층 분리 등의 조치가 이루어지지 않는다. 역에서 숙소까지의 거리가 상당히 있어 큰 짐이 있다면 별로 추천하지 않는다. 가성비가 별로다.

Rude staff. Location way out of the centre. When asked to help solve a situation they were just rude and dismissive instead of trying to help. Rooms were horrendously hot for the whole stay. The temp outside was not hot at all but the AC was very weak and the window only opened a few inches - leading to the room being far too hot and stuffy the whole time. It was so hot every night so sleep was awful. 2 beds were singles right next to each making it a double. So v awkward sharing with stranger

The check in is too late and it’s a business to charge you 15 euros early check in, keep the luggage in a temporary storage is also not free, breakfast is very expensive and location is the worse in cologne, next time I will pay more money for a better location and it will be cheaper because this hotel only wants to take your money

I tried a lot to call them for hours but no one responded.

Do not reccomend for the location - it's quite far from the city and the trains are tricky to figure out buying a ticket. It was way too expensive, but the beds were insanely comfortable. It was a strange hotel room set up with a bunk and a bed close to together. Fine for one night but you may as well choose somewhere centrale.

No empathy at all concerning the cancellation policies.

I tried to stay a second night, and they raised the dorm price from 25 euros to 65 euros, despite the listed price of 25 on hostelworld. That same night, 800 euros were stolen out of my dorm room. Bad energy for me, happy to leave this place.

Nice hostel, the staff are amazing though super lovely and helpful, especially Felipe. it is a converted hotel though just to beware I was sharing a hotel room with 4 people which was a bit small. There are lockers you can put your stuff away with and the en-suite bathroom was nice and clean. Washing is also not free (it’s 8€ for a wash and dry).

Very good for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside is that it is a bit out of the ways from the city and a longer walk than I would have liked to a metro station.

Good price

A pleasant place to stay but a little out of the way. It was quiet and I slept well. The recommendation for an Indian restaurant nearby was excellent. The barman was really friendly. I’m wouldn’t have minded some cooked sausages for breakfast.

Une très mauvaise odeur lorsque je suis arrivé dans la chambre mais cela devait surement venir d’une personne avec qui j’ai partagé la chambre

It’s so far away from everything really the only benefit is that it’s cheap. Also found a used towel in my room which was a bit gross.

Super nice hostel, will always trust Meininger. Beds are sturdy and clean, towels good, large washrooms with shampoo and body wash to use. Clean and communal kitchen too. Will not ask for more. Meininger will always be my go to.

Sehr schönes Hostel, nette Mitarbeitende, queer-freundlich (unisex-Toiletten) und einfach rundum zu empfehlen!

J’ai beaucoup apprécié. C’était grand, joli et propre. L’ambiance était très bonne. Par contre, c’est un peu loin du centre de la ville. Le train le plus proche est à 12min à pied. Aussi, les dortoirs 4 lits sont assez spécial puisqu’il est possible d’avoir les deux lits collés même si tu ne connais pas l’autre personne.

C’est un peu loin du centre-ville, mais il y a un train proche qui vous y amène sans problème! L’hostel est propre et très accommodant! Je recommande fortement!
