Avocado Hostel

We had a private room. That room was right next to the pretty noisy street and very close to a location where people burned their trash and since the windows could not be closed properly the room smelled like burned trash from time to time. The bathroom did not look like it got cleaned before we arrived and for some reason there was a butter knife in the toothbrush cup?! The mosquito net was brown where people frequently touched it and it had some veeeery suspicious stains here and there.

Hostel was fine, not the comfiest beds and wasn’t much of a social scene. Bit further out of town too but did the job

Die Unterkunft ist zentral gelegen. Zimmer sind allerdings schmutzig und heruntergekommen. Wir fühlten uns nicht sehr wohl.

Good location, there’s one room that nicer than the other

Very noisy hostel right next to the main street, a loud bar and a large construction site (which isn't the hostel's fault). Rooms and bathroom were clean. Not very social, but staff was friendly and made an effort.

overrated as a hostel, but fine value

Er werden top activiteiten georganiseerd. Ook krijg je ontbijt. Echter waren bedden, kussens en dergelijke waren niet schoon. Er zat zwarte schimmel op mijn kussen en zag dat een ander kussen erg bruin was. Ook was er geen avocado in de ochtend op dag 1. Er waren ook veel vliegen bij het ontbijt. Al bij al zou ik het wel aanbevelen. Dit doordat er veel wordt georganiseerd en gefaciliteerd.

personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und bemüht, jeden abend etwas zu organisieren. lage ist gut, ca. 5 min laufen von der hauptstrasse. der dorm ist von aussen nicht abschliessbar, von innen kann man den riegel schieben. wlan funktioniert praktisch gar nicht. wäsche kann man aufgeben, eine unterhose von mir bekam ich leider nicht zurück. leider kein ac.

Very small hostel with three dorms and a private room. We met lovely people on the balcony and had a nice trip with the owner to a nearby waterfall, but it is very simple. Our room hasn‘t been cleaned in the three days we stayed there, bins have not been emptied and the water pressure is rather a light rainfall. 10 Minutes walk to the main street.

Okay stay for one night. Good location. Not that clean.

Overall really cosy and social hostel! No AC in the rooms but I didn’t mind that. The host tries to plan a lot of activities and you can get free coffee/tea all day. It can get a little bit cramped in the hang out area if there are a lot of bookings.

The hostel was nice. The common areas were good with a water filter, fridge and lots of seating. Coffee and tea aswell. The location is ok, the walk up the hill is about 10 minutes but not too bad. Nice to be away from the loud main road a bit. The room was sweet and cosy but could be a bit more refreshed and cleaner. We came at a quiet time but the hosts were still very proactive in organising activities and offering us meet-ups with other hostels. I’m sure when it’s busier then it’s buz...

Es war schwer mit anderen Reisenden in Kontakt zu kommen, weil der Common Room etwas spärlich eingerichtet war. Abgesehen davon war die Hauptstraße aber sehr schnell fußläufig sehr gut erreichbar. Die Bäder wirkten sehr neu eingerichtet, aber die Betten wirkten manchmal sehr instabil, gerade wenn man im Dorm das Bett oben hatte.

Great location slightly away from the main street. Ella town 3 mins walk.Nine arch bridge 20 mins walk. The hostel organised daily activities like walks to Ella Rock and meditation centre. Cafe had good options for food also.

Good location, close to nine arch bridge and little Adams peak starting point. Short walk to centre of town. I stayed in a 4 dorm and it was nice and spacious. You’re not giving a key though but you can lock it from the inside. The common area is right outside the dorms as it’s a small hostel, so would be able to hear people at night if they were chatting. The staff organise a fair bit of activities to do which were good.

ood location, everything walkable to centre, train station, bridge, hikes. Good breakfast at their coffee place. Social vibe and daily activities. Lockers available. Dorms are a bit noisy, especially when the hostel is full and maybe noise from a generator. Beds comfy, but little bit wobbly. Bathroom is okish, good shower

We enjoyed our stay at the Avocado hostel a lot. As a couple we chose the double room which had plenty of room, a big bathroom, and a comfortable bed (which was a bit shorter than we expected, ~1.90m so it is not made for tall persons). Aka was a wonderful host, who help us with some really important personal stuff. Our holiday would have had a more stressful ending if he had not been so great. The cafe downstairs served delicious breakfast and a great cappuccino! We would come back any time.

It’s a nice spot with a cool location and great breakfast. It wasn’t too clean but also not dirty.

The hotel is ideally located: not on the main street, so it’s quiet, but still very easy to access. It’s also about a 10-minute walk to Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arch Bridge. I had breakfast included and it was very good, with something different each day and not too spicy. Overall, the stay was comfortable.

Supe social hostel that has everything you could need. If you are in the area it’s the place everyone goes.

Loved my stay here! Aka and the crew go above and beyond. The place is simple but has everything you need and met so many good people. Its clean, good wifi, good location, great brakfast, fun activities- 1000% recommend.

Sehr nettes Hostel. Der Besitzer kümmert sich täglich um Aktivitäten und gibt gute Tips um die Gegend zu erkunden, ohne dabei irgendwie aufdringlich zu sein.

Just go there

Ich kann das Hostel nur empfehlen. Man hat zwar keine schöne Aussicht und die Ausstattung ist nicht super modern aber die Stimmung ist echt schön dort. Der Besitzer gibt sich so viel Mühe alle zusammen zubringen und organisiert viel und hilft einem bei allem. Ich hab mich super wohl dort gefühlt. Das Frühstück ist auch super und mein Highlight war die cooking Class im Hostel.

Ich habe hier sehr gut geschlafen. Es war nicht laut und das Frühstück im Café darunter war sehr sehr lecker. Jeden Tag hat man ein anderes Gericht erhalten.
