Astor Museum Inn

Stayed here back in 1991 between overseas travels.hope it's improved since then.very clicky Australian staff and my stay in the room above the main door being interupted by bed bugs,so much so we were evacuated to the annexe up the street.did met some nice people there though..

I stayed there for 4 days in beginning of October 2023. My expectations were not that high but the first night killed it for me. After waking up in the middle of the night, I something on my leg. I shaked it off and then I was wondering about a black dot walking on the bed. I made turned on the flash and hoped to not wake my roommates. Turns out to be a bug. Trigger alert - i decided to smash it. After that I realized that it was filled with blood. I took a picture with the flash and was googeling about sort of bugs with blood. The only thing that really matched was a bed bug. I went to the reception and the guy was nice but he said he needs his manager. I came again when she was there. So here goes my problem with the hostel. The manager said that this was a mosquito, and just was not really on my side. I could tell. After that a guy joined (forgot what his position was). He made my look like a lier by saying it's not their sheets. I solved it by taking a picture with flash right in front of his eyes. After 1,5 hour of arguments and explaining they called the head to give me another bed. I accepted the offer and I did had no problem with a bug there. I hope with this critic to give you a chance to increse in your customer support. I didnt feel like you took me serious or trustable and I didn't feel understood with the disgust I felt. Apparently I was the first who had this problem. But if you have the same experience as me, don't let them intimitate you.

Staff were very rude,unprofessional,unkind, focused on extorting more money and stealingfrom their guests an I don't recommend this place, it is over-priced, their facilities should be upgraded. The waiting Lounge was dirty, with old torn couch probably with bed bugs, nothing to entertain (No TV etc) their guests, who paid for this service. I think they purposely provided an uncomfortable waiting area,so their guests feel uncomfortable and leave immediately after they check out from the

Staff were really loud every night in the kitchen and the noise could be heard from the rooms.. This was after "marked silence time" so around midnight. Being in the kitchen when the staff people were there was unbearable and you couldn't speak in your normal voice because you couldn't hear it. Too few toilets, only three. No AC in the rooms. Rooms were paper thin so you could hear every noise from the road where cars were driving a lot.

I got many severe bites while there, they look like bed bug bites. You need a £5 cash deposit for the key card, and when I didn't have cash they gave me a key card that expired the next morning, meaning I had to go to an ATM in the morning. Very annoying.
