I woke up the morning after sleeping here, COVERED in bites that appear to be bedbug bites. I emailed and they insisted that they deep clean and wash the mattresses everyday, but that’s not what I saw when the cleaner was cleaning. Was not a warm welcome to Puerto Viejo, and kind of traumatizing.

the location of this hostel is good however the door to our room didn’t close or have a lock, which was installed on the last day. we are now covered in bed bug bites and mosquito bites despite the nets which weren’t in great condition. there’s no air con and only two fans in the room which didn't help at all. the staff are helpful but it’s a pity that everything else wasn't up to standard

Had a really bad experience here, the only positive thing was getting the rest of our money back after we decided to leave after one night! Rooms tiny, paper thin walls, we could hear absolutely everything- from the people fighting with each other in the room next door, to the noisy neighbors partying behind the building. The room was too hot to be in, with a tin roof accumulating heat during the day. There were bedbugs and hairs in the sheets that were not ours! No hot water in he shower, dusty floors and all the things you don't want to experience when looking for a place to stay. What a huge disappointment didn't sleep a wink.
