2.5/5 Pros: -friendly staff - easily check-in and out - good location (10 mins to downtown. Relatively quiet, it does get busy on weekends as there's a soccer field across the street) - they stored my bag as a was super early to check in - host tours around the city for good price Cons: - bed bugs ( they took action, confirmed it was bedbugs then moved me to an empty dorm area and refunded me 30% of my week stay. Only concern is they didn't move anyone else in the dorm from my knowledge) - needs a remodeling - constant door slamming - 14 to a room with curtains dividing 4, so you can hear everyone and everything - one light switch for whole dorm - no all sections of the dorm as outlets and the charging to vey slow

Unpleasant experience staying in this hostel : unclean and lack of amenities - Lots of dust and hair on my bed and I got bed bug bites staying here - The location is not convenient, esp you need to take your luggage uphill and downhill after getting off the bus. - lack of electric plugs and I need to stay up late to line up for charging my phone Reflected my feedback to the management and they handled it seriously and efficiently. I hope the hostel can upgrade their amenities to provide a better accommodation service

Stayed in a 14 bed dorm, beds were a good size, lockers were large. Kitchen is large and well stocked with utensils (no Ofen though). Restrooms and showers were usable, could be a little more clean. Close to the beach and university, busses to downtown are 10 minutes away. Overall fair price for the service, saw no bedbugs or bugs as others had claimed.

Attention of bed bugs! I got bed bugs in this hostel and unfortunately brought them with me to Austria. Better to stay with good friends in Vancouver or book a good Hotel! In 4 minutes you are on the beach, that was the highlight not more!!!

First two nights fine, moved to a different room, bedbug infestation.

Where to begin? The horrible wifi and network? The dirty, prison-like washrooms and showers? The dirty kitchen, with cheap cooking ustensils and broken stovetops? Or perharps how we complained about those loud and rude guests who would always trash the kitchen, only to find out they were part of the staff?? Even worst, we found bed bugs in our beds and they answered to that fact by doubting our story, constantly asking to see bites, refunding us one night out of eight and « washing » our clothes (half cleaned, some still dirty) before handing them back to us half dried up! On top of that, on our last night before a 6h AM flight, a staff member woke me up at 1h AM, mistaking me for my boyfriend and waking up several people in the process, then woke HIM up telling him he owned the hostel almost a 100$! My boyfriend had to go downstairs to argue with him before he admitted it was a mistake! Then, at 4h AM, he almost made us miss our taxi by telling us that THE HOSTEL owned us money this time! I’ve never, never seen a worst hostel and service in my whole life!! NEVER go there!

Great place to meet international people.There's a great big fridge for food. The kitchen is pretty cool because of the gas stoves, appliances, plates, cutlery etc. The bathrooms were nice and always stayed tidy. They provide towels up front. Fun amenities and events. They advertise game and trivia nights. They also have a restaurant and a place for beer. WiFi was a little tricky, also there were a lack of outlets where we slept. I think I also got bed bugs. The group of people said if the several years they stayed there this hadn't happened.

I got very bad bed bug bites. They did refund me but I'm highly allergic and would have avoided this place if I could and the cost of treating the allergy was more than the refund. Avoid at all cost.

Bed bugs. 20 people in one room. Horrible experience.

There are BED BUGS!!! The cleanees of the place, in general, is poor; but BED BUGS mean a lot of problems when you go back home, and they're nasty.  Moving your pillow & finding these disguting bugs screws up at least the day.   When I complained with the staff they were not surpriced at all. The internet didn't  work during the two days I stayed there. The location is nice but at the end, it is not worthed. It is too expensive for what you get. Basic cleaness (Pest control) is a must.
