As of August 2026, this hostel has bed bugs. We initially booked two nights - the building is a bit rough around the edges, but has everything you need, good location, is quite cheap and the staff onsite were friendly so we extended for three more. However, after the second night (in the private Salento room), I woke up covered in bed bug bites (140 in total - we had a lot of time to count whilst decontaminating all our stuff later). We reported this to the receptionist, who didn't seem surprised and said he would come and deal with them. He then preceded to steam the edge of the mattress and a large amount of adult and baby bugs fell out. We obviously couldn't stay there, and were refunded the extra unused nights we booked - but when we asked for a full refund, were passed onto the management who (after taking 8 hrs to consult their policies) refused a refund on the basis the room was used, ignoring the huge inconvenience of having to heat treat everything (shrinking a lot of it in the process), wasting more than a day of the trip, and being covered in uncomfortable bites for the rest of our time in Bogotá. After a week of requesting a refund via WhatsApp, we have gotten nowhere. They had offered to give us some money back, but then stopped replying to messages. Shoutout to the receptionist who was very apologetic and kind throughout. Had we known what to look out for (small black stains that smudge and shedded skins) we would have known from the first day that the mattress had bed bugs (we had noticed a shed skin but thought it was a bit of fluff), so I don't believe they had sufficiently checked the bed before checking us in. We've since seen a recent booking.com review that said they had bedbugs, so they must have known and didn't warn us. Could be a great hostel, but need to address the bed bugs and really need much better customer service / fairer refund policies.

The location is alright. The room had a stench on moldy/ humid wood. Got biten by bed bugs on my lower back throughout the night and found a small bug on my bed in the morning. Couldn't stay for more than one night and they would't refund me for the rest of the booking. Staff had the audacity to say that I brought the bug with me in my luggage and that most hostels are like that in regards of wooden bed frames. Not worth staying even if it was for free.

In general a nice hostel. BEDBUGS! We had bedbugs in the dorm and apparently it happens more often. It can happen - sure but they didn't do anything about it. They gave us a different bed in the same room and on the next day they put fresh sheets on the bed bugs bed and a new person had to sleep on it. This behavior is unacceptable. The sheets had stains on them as well and they have only 3 bathrooms (1 toilet, 1 shower, 1 sink in one room) for 3 dorms and a couple of double rooms.

La ubicación Habían chinches, las personas que se hospedan allí resultaban algo extrañas. O muy viciosos o quizás no se… a veces no se sentía seguro. Entiendo que es un alojamiento económico pero las sábanas estaban rotas.

Τhe two guys at the reception are very kind, helpful and patient . The place has bedbugs. I slept in the green room named Antioquia, I found one in my bedsheets and two on the curtains. Despite pictures and complaining, the management was super indifferent, only thing she cared about was whether I would pay for my laundry (which I did not since I literally abandoned almost my stuff there, because it was my last day in Colombia and did not want to risk to bring the bugs home). I understand that things like this can happen, but from what I saw that's not new, they are already aware and simply do not care.

El personal que labora en el hostal es muy amable y servicial. Se sintió como si estuviese en mi casa. Me quedé en la habitación compartida llamada Antioquia, desafortunadamente tienen problema de chinches de cama, y yo soy alérgico a ellas. Ambas noches sufrí por sus picaduras, y tuve que lavar todo lo que llevaba conmigo al salir del hostal para no llevar chinches o sus huevecillos a mi hogar.

Not much unfortunately Don't stay here they charged us double and when we got in touch to query and get our money back they ignored us. Also whilst we were there they had a man in a hazmat suite spraying for bed bugs. Awful stay, worst place we stayed in 5 months of Colombia.

nos encontramos chinches en las habitaciones, dos de nuestras compañeras sufrió picaduras y reacción alérgica durante hospedaje, a otra chica que tenía su toalla en la habitación se le perdió. Los baños no estaban limpios.
