Leider eher schlecht als recht. Ameisen im Badezimmer und sehr dreckig, dreckige Zimmer und Betten die mitten in der Nacht neu bezogen werden. Die Betten sind sehr instabil mit extrem dünner Matratze. Insgesamt war das Zimmer auch sehr beengend.
Ants in the bathroom and a very dirty, dirty room and beds that are newly furnished in the middle of the night. the beds are very unstable with extremely thin mattresses. overall the room was also very cramped.
I felt very uncomfortable in the hostel I was the only person there. The father was very nice but had little English. I left after one night and I had to speak to the son of the owner who had better English is was very rude and had no understanding for the situation. I was a solo female traveller and wouldn’t book there again. It’s also far out. Also the window was broken in my room I was eaten so much by mosquitoes.
A nice place to stay in weligama where the host and cohost are very friendly and informative. There are bus services heading into Weligama a few mins walk from the hostel. We checked in at 2am and were sent room instructions which was helpful! I did however find the hostel not to be so social in terms of things going on which could be improved by holding games night with snacks and drinks etc.
Les gérant et son père sont adorable ! La salle de bain n’étais pas très agréable.. et je pensais être dans un lieu sympa mais il n’y a rien à faire autour. Le lieu était vide mais je suis là hors saison donc je suppose que c’est normal
The manager and his dad are adorable! the bathroom was not very nice.. and i thought i was in a nice place but there is nothing to do around. the place was empty but i am here out of season so i guess it is normal
L’auberge était quasi vide à mon passage. Le lit double est sur l’étage caché derrière un paravent. Pas gênant quand on est solo mais pas ouf à deux je suppose. L’hostel est un peu excentré mais rien de bien gênant.
The hostel was almost empty when I came by. the double bed is on the top floor hidden behind a screen. not a problem when you're alone but not in pairs I suppose. the hostel is a bit eccentric but nothing too annoying.
L'hostel en soit est sympa, les espaces communs sont agréables et l'ambiance est plutôt bonne. En revanche, fuyez les chambres doubles ! Un lit dans le couloir derrière un paravent, sans moustiquaire et avec vue sur les escaliers n'est pas une chambre !Même à ce prix là c'est limite... quand en plus il y a de la musique forte en bas jusqu'à 23h ce n'est pas normal. plutôt déçue pour cette partie la.
The hostel itself is nice, the common areas are nice and the atmosphere is quite good. on the other hand, avoid double rooms ! a bed in the hall behind a screen, without a mosquito net and with a view of the stairs is not a room !even at this price there is a limit... when besides there is loud music downstairs until 11pm it is not normal. rather disappointed for this part there.
The owner and his father really make this hostel, they bring a really nice, friendly vibe and welcome everyone into the group. The outside area is really nice to chill in and have a drink or something to eat. It is a little out of town, but I'd suggest renting a scooter or take tuktuks or busses wherever in Weligama. The dorms are very basic, no privacy curtains and metal squeaky beds which I'm not keen on, with a little bit of work on the dorms it would be 10/10
Super séjour à l’hostel Star Eyes. L’hôte est aux petits soins, les chambres sont spacieuses et le petit déjeuner délicieux. Je recommande !!
Super stay at Star Eyes Hostel. host is well maintained, rooms are spacious and breakfast is delicious. i recommend !!

Very friendly owners that run the hostel. Nice and clean rooms for a very fair price. Recommended👌🏼
Wij zaten hier 8 nachten in een privekamer. Hosts waren zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam, veel tips gekregen en sfeer was goed. De privekamers zitten echter iets verder weg van het hostel dus je komt iets minder in aanraking met andere mensen. Kamer werd halverwege nog schoon gemaakt wat fijn was! Douche en bed waren fijn. Kamer was alleen zeer vochtig. Daardoor ontstond er wat schimmel op een van onze tassen. Hosts gaven aan hiernaar te kijken. Daarnaast waren er veel mieren m.n. in de badkam...
We stayed here for 8 nights in a private room. hosts were very friendly and helpful, got lots of tips and the atmosphere was good. however, the private rooms are a little further away from the hostel so you get a little less contact with other people. room was half cleaned which was nice! shower and bed were fine. room alone was very wet. it caused some mold on one of our bags. hosts gave me a look. besides there were a lot of ants etc. in the bathroom.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Merijn, einer der Inhaber, hat uns vorab über eine anstehende Veranstaltung informiert und gefragt ob wir daran teilnehmen möchten. Die Frau von Ishan (dem anderen Inhaber) hat am Abend für alle was lokales gekocht. Das Essen war super lecker und man konnte so direkt andere Reisende kennenlernen. Die Inhaber waren sehr zuvorkommend und super freundlich. Das Hostel können wir wirklich nur empfehlen!
The accommodation was very clean and nicely furnished. merijn, one of the owners, informed us in advance about an upcoming event and asked if we would like to attend it. Frau von ishan (the other owners) bought local food for everyone that evening. the food was super delicious and you could meet other travelers so directly. the owners were very helpful and super friendly. the hostel we can only really recommend!

Das Hostel war bisher eines unser besten Hostels in Sri Lanka. Vor allem die Atmosphäre fühlte sich sehr familär an und wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt!

Sehr zu empfehlen! Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend und man fühlt sich wie Zuhause! Tolle und ruhige Lage.

Very good hostel with amazing owners! A bit out of Weligama which is perfect for the noise, but only 3 min bike ride from the centre. Definitely recommended 😊😊

Stayed just 1 night at Star Eyes Hostel but loved the vibe right away. Super chill garden to hang out, close to the surf beach, and really easy to meet people. Dorm was clean, bed comfy with mosquito net, and breakfast with fresh fruit was perfect. Staff were super friendly and made me feel at home. Wish I had stayed longer — will definitely be back! 🌊✨
Wir hatten hier einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft ist mega sauber ( weitaus sauberer als vieles in Deutschland) und die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt. Ishan und sein Vater sind sehr zuvorkommende Gastgeber und lassen dich wie Zuhause fühlen. Die kleinen Strände in unmittelbarer Nähe sind zauberhaft und nach Welligama ist es auch nicht weit. Ganz große Empfehlung und vielen vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit.
We had a wonderful stay here. The accommodation is mega clean (weitaus sauberer als vieles in Deutschland) and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Ishan and his father are very attentive hosts and make you feel at home. The small beaches in the immediate vicinity are magical and to Welligama it is not far either.
The hosts were amazing. Place was so cheap but so clean. Even though I was the only guest for a while when I asked if food was available they catered for me. They went over and above to ensure my safety and comfort. Only downside was going out of season not much to do. Had some lovely chats with host though and was made to feel at home. He even arranged transport for when I was leaving.

The owners are super nice and lovely people, it is one of the cleaniest places i have ever been to on my trip and the atmosphere really calm and friendly. It was actually one of my favorite places in Sri Lanka, it seems almost more like a homestay than hostel, which I really liked. It‘s a 20-25min walk to the center, but it‘s closer to the smaller hidden beaches if you want to be on a quiet one. I would def recommend
